Whoever thought of the mechanism to get a shopping cart by shoving a quarter in it is a genius. People wouldn't bother returning the cart if it were a nickel or dime, but the quarter works. It must have been someone who lived during the great depression. They know how to hang on to money. If things continue as they are, Aldi is going to have to redesign that mechanism to handle a sawbuck. (A boomer will get it). Aldi is an interesting place. When Bla Bla and Pa Pa took Benjamin shopping there, we saw two types of people. Old folks and mothers with children. Bla Bla and I fit right in with the older shoppers. There were no Millinneals or Gen Xers, just Boomers and Z's, and maybe a couple Gen-demics being pushed around in strollers. The old folks loved Benjamin. He was the handsomest grandson in the building. And boy, can he sling produce onto the cashiers conveyor belt. If you're into consuming products with strange sounding names, Aldi is the place for you. Brand X is what we used to call them back in the day. X for huh?? Even our checker was sort of a Brand X. Her name was Xander. She was all business. No time to banter with the citizens in her line. Almost like a robot. I wonder where the quarter gets inserted. The selection is great but the service is awful. I brought a bag with me but forgot to take the tag off. The cashier rang it up, "I said oh I brought that with me." She replies with, "Oh I didn't know. You just set it up there and didn't say anything. Oh you forgot to take the tag off." I'm sure she was super stressed because it slowed her down by 5 seconds, but was that necessary? They're so focused on throwing your groceries in the cart that the customer service is basically nonexistent. Before you even get a chance to pull your debit card out, they're already telling you to put it in the machine. I always leave so frustrated that I just don't think it's worth it anymore. read more

I just absolutely love this place! I don't want to be cliche and say that their prices are so low and the value is so great and the people are so friendly. It's becoming like the Starbucks of groceries. You very rarely have a bad experience here except for that one crazy publicity issue with Starbucks that one time! Anywho it's small enough but filled with everything you need. You don't have to stress like you do at Walmart of going all the way in getting a buggy shopping all the way around waiting in lines. Lines definitely do happen but they're pretty good about calling for help when it gets crazy. I highly appreciate this as my time is rather valuable but not more valuable than any other. Always remember to bring your own bag if you can or have quite a few things because I forget mine like every time. But it gives me a work out to the car and in the house. I didn't want to like Aldi. I barely acknowledged it's opening or existence. It looked like a store that sold crushed up dehydrated potato chips as "mashed potatoes." I'm not sure where I came up with this idea because I couldn't have been any more wrong! Aldi has a large produce section with the BEST prices on seasonal stuff - this week seedless watermelons were $2.99 each (while they were $4.99 for the same size - and brand!? - at Kroger) and delicious cherries (CHERRIES!!) were $1.69/lb (whaaaaaat!?). They also have Nourish bowls, Greek yogurt, coconut oil, frozen wild-caught seafood, and their 24 packs of water for $1.79. Stop second-guessing your friends who have already told you how much they love Aldi, bring all your reusable grocery bags that you never use, and enjoy being surprised. read more

If you want to get good prices on canned goods, this is the place to go. They have just about everything in here including cheese, eggs, meats, breads etc....just cheaper prices. Put a quarter in the cart, come out and get your quarter back...makes the parking lot stay clean and no carts to hunt as they are left side of the main door. I am now in love with Aldi! Everything is just delicious and it is now my go to place instead of Kroger's. The regular price is lower than the sale price at Kroger's and the Items have more ounces. It is a German company, and my friend lives in Europe and she says they have laws that do not allow them to serve anything with dyes or preservatives or anything unnatural, unlike here, so all the food is delicious! I have kept my grocery bill in half over my bill at Kroger's. read more

I love going to Aldi's. They always have new products to try. We had this grocery store in Ibiza, Spain called Lidl and I think it's the same type of store. Definitely go with an open mind and an open heart and and you will be rewarded. They are cozy and don't feel too big. They certainly have the neighborhood feel. Bring your own bags. That is a MUST! Look ,the idea was good at the start but has long gone wrong. This store has often has long .long lines to rival the checkout at Krogers. Don't let yourself fall in love with a product because they are terrible about keeping a product stocked. Really you are out of your house brand of water because it was "diverted" to other stores? Really? As my mother once said ,"that's your tale I sit on mine". The eggs in the rack today were all open with at least one broken while the two employees were at the front talking to each other. There were some twelve packs of some nasty flavored Diet Coke where the water was supposed to be . Isn't most diet drinks kind of nasty when they get to those odd fruit flavors? The bread racks of several different varieties of bread were nearing empty. Several advertised specials were sold out. So I pushed my rental shopping cart through the store and back out the door. I used to stop quite often but this store is sliding towards a once and again status. Who failed ? The store manager if there is one, The area manger who seems to dread visiting the store and the regional manager who obviously manages from spread sheets. Attention Food City: Quit worrying Aldi doesn't have it together. read more

After standing in line for over 10 minutes I gave up and left without buying any of the items I had in my cart . There was only one line open & a manager saw how many people were waiting in line. The store was freezing inside. I would compare this to Big Lots. I definitely won't be going back to Aldi. read more

They have great low prices and there's always something new there to try. They keep the store very neat and clean. I don't think I've ever seen anything out of place there. The workers are very friendly and helpful. They really do their part in trying to make this trip the best it can be. At times if they're near closing time they are a little short staffed and have only one cashier but it's worth the small wait because you can't get those deals anywhere else. read more
