Do not shop curbside at this store. All bread was out of date or almost. The chips were stall. Still in date, but not much time left. Sausage which normally has 6 weeks, had 2 weeks. I have had trouble here before with dates. Beware. read more

So I was travelling and needed a drinks cooler for the trip, so a trip to Wally-World was in order. I have never been to the one in La Grange, but it is Walmart... they are pretty much all the same, right? Well... yeah, kind of. In this case the layout was mirrored to the ones that I am accustomed to, with the grocery section on the left side of the store instead of the right, and the entrances were a bit odd. Not really a big deal, as I have seen some really odd entrance methods for these stores. I found the drink coolers pretty easily, but I also wanted some other items, and those proved to be a bit tougher to find due to odd placement in the aisles. I did manage, though. The store is clean, and they seem to have everything that other stores have. Customer service was also fine, so no complaints there. A solid four stars here. read more

Worst employees as far as actually caring about their jobs or how their work reflects on them personally. (I say 'worst' meaning very rude, lazy and/or they make it a point to ignore you, purposely so they won't be called on to assist. NOT ALL of them are terrible; had a few one-off positive experiences here that made a difference, as I'm referring to the overall majority as 'the worst'. The store is always being rearranged, and it already is lacking in comparison to the super Walmart stores. I'm not sure what category this WM falls into because it has groceries and items that a Super would have, but a very small selection of the product you're wanting. A lot of the items I like have recently been out of stock, although the online inventory shows available. Last night my husband and I, along with any other remaining late shoppers still looking for things, were being yelled at down the aisles by associates stocking shelves telling us we had to check out by 10:45PM or we wouldn't be able to purchase anything. Shoppers were told that they didn't have til 11:00pm like normal and they needed to hurry up or not get anything. I can understand wanting to get ready for the Black Friday crowds and them wanting to get home themselves to cook, but it was the way in which we all were being berated and being treated like cattle that was so off-putting that I had to calm my husband down and ask him to leave the store ahead of me. (He will get loud if disrespected and I just wanted to keep the peace, but not ever return. I shop here roughly once or twice a week, and probably more so now since the local HEB is undergoing a horrendous facelift, and the construction blocking many aisles. But it never fails, I always end up leaving this WM annoyed and frustrated, with a story to my husband that starts, "OMG, you wouldn't believe the WM HELL I just went through.......". (It's become expected, which sucks.) Example, I once had a $400 purchase of close to 75 items. One the VERY LAST ITEM that I went to swipe, the register screen froze, then reverted back to a start-up-looking type of screen. I had three associates over there within a 10-15 min period trying to help to get it back to normal in order to pay, but none of them had ever seen that happen nor knew what to do about it. (Bear in mind I had already been inside of the store for a little over 2.5 hours because Ethel had just rearranged the entire store AGAIN, so this was so enraging.) I was told that I needed to re-check myself out and start over on a different register and I couldn't purchase the item that prompted the freeze since it wasn't coming up in the system. ($39.99 frontline flea treatment..., seriously?! ) - this was mid-summer of this year, 2021. There are so many more examples I could give (especially about management being ignorant of policies made to assist with customer service), but it would be way too long. They were all close to the same as this experience's end result with me feeling angry and nothing to be done about it. We live in a very small town (about 25 miles South of LaGrange), and this is the closest thing we have any in-store selections so I doubt this will ever change. I know that from now on I am going the additional 15 minutes to Sealy, TX, though, and bypassing LG WM as a viable option any longer. (Same can be said for the towns tractor supply store too. They both have potential to be awesome if only they'd hire (and pay someone decently to manage it) to where they'd have access to better, more empathetic, and ready-to-assist-where-needed types of employees. Oh, and they got rid of the jewelry department last year too, which totally sucks! Now you have to check yourself out, while being harangued at the exit, getting accused of stealing something if the greeter doesn't get to see your receipt. I do WM pay, which is on my phone and doesn't offer a paper receipt. Sorry but I'm NOT hanging up my personal phone call just to exit the WM store because the greeter wants to put their germs hands on my things! No way, they can call the cops if they're so sure I stole anything after paying $200 and some dollars! That entire set up at all WMs is just absurd to me. read more

The employees are there but not sure if corporate has them doing what is needed. No joke it is literally impossible to call and ask if there is something in the store it will NEVER happen! You will never get an answer! The employees are clueless and some are very rude. Not all of them are I do recognize that there are hard working employees but how can you really want to work when they don't pay their employees enough! What's funny is that comedians famous on you tube have even noticed how impossible it is to get someone in Walmart to check if there is an item and have made videos of themselves calling Walmart service centers while standing near and watched the employees set the phone down and sit there and pick it back up and say no we don't have that item, they never went and checked! I called and asked for a simple item and the lady who answered said she would have to walk, and still transfers me to that section which I got no answer. She then tried again, I get hung up on! lol just walk down there!!!!!!!! Guess I will call a friend or family member and borrow one!!!! read more

I have to agree with the the other person giving a review. The price of grocery has gotten to be to expensive for a person living on budget. I will I love to ride the amigo carts. read more

This Wal-mart is horrible so far. I'll give it time on the inventory but the rest? Associates that don't want to give you the time of day. The dont answer the phone after 8 o'clock or so. If they are open, they should answer. Not even a machine to pick up. Ridiculous. Food items they don't have is ridiculous as well. read more
