Well, it's better than Bastrop. But you can't even get sliced cheese from the deli at 10:15 am. HEB needs competition in these parts!!! Two stars for the ability to park AND get a cart in under an hour. Bastrop HEB really has set the bar low on those requirements. I guess we're back to driving 3 hours round trip for grocery shopping in Georgetown... where they have competition, multiple stores, and I've never been told, "Sorry. We're cleaning the machine. After being open for FOUR hours? Either you need to have two machines in rotation or... do this before/after the deli opens. Shocker to get prepared for the day BEFORE the day starts. read more

I have been to a lot of different grocery stores in my time, and HEB is one that seems to be a decent one. I went to the one in La Grange, as it was pretty much the only true grocery store in the area (yeah, there is that other one attached to a big box store down the road, but it just isn't the same). Normally grocery stores have a certain layout, and while this store held somewhat true to that typical layout, the one thing it did not have was the standard dimensions. In this store the aisles are relatively short, but there are a bunch of them, which means that finding the right aisle for an item can be a bit tougher because of the way things are distributed through the store. You still have your various sections, like your meat department and your produce, though the deli was in a very odd spot at the front of the store with the access to it pointed away from the entrance to the store. I had to walk the whole way around the store before I was able to find the deli! The store is clean and decently lit, so finding what you need isn't a problem. Variety seemed to be there to some extent, though the deli didn't have any fried chicken which seemed odd to me... baked whole chickens, sure, but no deep fried chicken. Anyway, if you are looking for a grocery store in La Grange, I would say HEB is the place to go, and bypass that big box store down the road. read more

We had been using Bastrop HEB and we were very happy with them. They follow through with the doctors For personal reasons,My new Dr asked me switch to a closer location. Which is in La Grange. We immediately started having attitude problems with the pharmacy technicians. We use the on-line app to see if a scripts is ready or if they are "in process". When asked if they could transfer my meds orders to them the answer was " they would need to back it up " ?? What does that even mean? Amyway, I just so please do it . After 2 weeks someone finally put them through to La Grange. Now my husband has to put up with Ms. Rudeness in person when he goes to pick up meds for us. !? How great is that? I wish we had just stayed with the Bastrop H-E-B pharmacy. It's worth the drive. read more

This store is totally messed up!!! Construction ladders everywhere, Construction equipment everywhere. Dust, dirt, pitiful! And forget about finding stuff! One day the Vienna Sausages are on Asle 7, the next day. They are on 13!! The grocery staff, unfriendly and not willing to help! The cashiers & sackers were attentive & welcoming. Carts still bumping into one another! The asles are SLOWLY becoming more wider. But, still no product on the shelf! Couldnt find Sugar Cookies anywhere! read more

HEB in La Grange is so amazing. We especially enjoy the curbside delivery. They are 100% wonderful.

I've been shopping at this HEB almost my entire life. I remember the old store before they built what is there now. I have to give the store credit for getting some organics and trying to keep up with the times. This is a small town and only so much can be expected. When I need more variety I have to go to Bastrop HEB, but for the essentials I shop here. Some of the worker's have bad attitudes. It's probably because they are mainly teenagers. The lines aren't very long. They will always bag your groceries for you unlike some places. They have good prices. It's well air conditioned. I will probably keep shopping here as long as they are open. I'm sure my son and his kids will shop here also. read more

I haven't been vegetable shopping at the HEB in a while but was saddened to hear my mother's little rant about the fact that she went in the other day and saw rotting bell peppers on the shelf. Yes, you would lose a little in profit, but please start carrying fresh vegetables. I do give the store credit for trying to contact me about my review, but no contact should have been needed. As much money as HEB makes selling us groceries every week actions speak louder than words. The store needs to take the approach of ok we have this problem and this is how we fix it for good! On a side note I am happy that they are still carrying the organics selection and I will continue to shop in that section! read more

Its a shame that HEB doesn't support the town of La Grange more than this. This town is dying and HEB is one of the corporations that could be doing something to help it out. We just moved here last year after the flood and started out shopping here, but over the past year have sadly decided that Walmart has the better selection of groceries. Now I am a person who swore never to shop at Walmart, but I am also a person who knows what a great store HEB can be ( I used to shop at their flagship store on Bunker Hill in Houston). Really hoping that HEB will take another look at this store and consider a remodel as well as some employee re-training. This HEB could truly be a showpiece for the company that would draw customers from all around this area. read more

This is the only grocery store in a pretty hip small town. They are hit or miss on most of their products. They run out of better wines, have a poor selection anyway. The meat is really poor. I would not eat it. There is no meat counter; no good deli selection. HEB owns Central Market, this store is one hour away from Austin and about the same distance from Houston. Lots of residents here are from these urban areas and are appalled at the selections here. We have to go to Bastrop. A new grocery is just about built here. If HEB doesn't AMP up this store they will lose our business. Keep you excellent products in stock!!! read more

This HEB does a really good job for being in this small town of La Grange. There are good selections of groceries and other things. The staff is friendly and there is a welcoming atmosphere and just a good feel to the store. The only real competition is the local Wal Mart, so this HEB holds its own well. read more

The LaGrange HEB is a great place to shop. It has fresh produce, good meat, and usually all of the grocery items one would need to buy. Of course, if you need something that you usually can only find in the city grocery stores, you have to go to the city for. read more

I love this H-E-B because it is local. There is a huge one about 30 minutes away, but I will only go there in an extreme emergency. This little H-E-B is always clean and well-stocked with all the basics I need and many items that are a bit 'exotic'. Managers always roaming the store, interacting with customers, making sure we've found everything and whether we need anything else. Never, ever find that in the big mega HEB stores. Why spend time on the highway when what I need is here? read more
