Horrible customer service by the manager George! I would give a negative star but yelp makes you put at least one star to write a review. I went to Walmart, La Quinta,Ca to return a shirt. I had bought four of the same shirt, three were medium and one was large. At the time,their dressing room was closed so I could not try the shirts on to see which size fit better, so had to try them on at home. I kept the 3 mediums and needed to return the 1 large. On 3/28/19 I went back to return it. The cashier said I could not get my money back on the return of the large shirt because it was a different item number. I told her I bought four of the same shirt, just one was a different size. She said "oh that's why, because one was a different size, so different item number. The original cashier I bought the shirts from had scanned one same shirt four times, instead of correctly scanning each shirt differently because one was a different size so it would have a different item number. That's Walmart's employee's fault, not mine! I asked to speak with a manager. The manager George said "If you came a week ago instead of 1 month to return it, then he could have returned it"... WTF does that matter??!! Walmart's return policy IS A 90 DAY RETURN with receipt! He stood up for the employee that rang up the items wrong, when I was in the right! He just walked away. He should not have the title of being a manager if he does not know how to handle customer service correctly or professionally! George go back to training and review your "90 day Return Policy" like it shows on the wall and on receipt,learn how to work in customer service, treat customers the right way and do your job correctly! Also your cashiers need to learn how to ring in items correctly so this does not happen again! read more

I went for a simple oil change with three cars in front of me. Was told it would be 2 1/2 hour wait. Only two employees working in available bays would explain that wait time. Walked inside and encountered boxes and carts full of go-backs everywhere. Decided to do the oil change myself. The oil filters were scattered all over the place and of course they did not have mine in stock, but due to the mess it took me 10 minutes of searching the shelf to determine that. For a billion dollar company let's hire some more people. Pride and customer service are not core values at Walmart corporate if it runs anything like its stores. read more

I HATE this place and avoid it like the plague. However there are times when I am forced to go there i.e. after around 10-11pm when everything else closes. This particular location is really messy, unorganized, and polluted with shady and ghetto people. Seriously if you are going grocery shopping do you really need to take your 7 kids and then completely ignore them while you make out with your new cholo boyfriend while the kids ransack the store?.. I have no tolerance for those people. Workers are pretty incompetent and usually they just get in your way while you are trying to shop. Aisles are extremely narrow and the fact that the floor is littered with items doesn't help either. Like I said.. avoid at all costs. Head to Target for a relaxing shopping experience and comparable prices. read more

We tried to checkout when only one lane was open. I was rudely told by Robin the assistant manager that this was because of a shift change. Worse yet, the only check out person with 11 people waiting on line was tired up with a lady who was having trouble redeeming a coupon. I bought $100 worth of diesel motor oil at this Walmart a week ago to change the oil in my motorhome. Today I returned to the store with my used motor oil to recycle it. I drove around to the back of the store to the automotive department and entered through the service door. Nobody was at the counter so I pushed the "call for assistance" button. Five minutes later a woman walked around the corner leisurely pushing a cart with items to be placed in stock and begrudgingly asked if I needed help. I told her I had oil to recycle and she muttered something unintelligible and continued into the stock room. She emerged a couple minutes later and I asked, "Can I dump this oil somewhere?". "You have to sign in and then someone will meet you out there...let me see who's out there". She then stepped into her office behind the counter where I overheard her say to herself (in an exasperated tone), "I'm going to lunch" - whereupon she exited the office, turned out the lights and disappeared around the corner, presumably heading for the employee lounge. Slightly dumbfounded but assuming she had summoned someone else to assist me, I waited ten minutes before, once again, hitting the "call for assistance" button. Then a third time in a few more minutes. Then a fourth. No one came. For the sake of my blood pressure I decided to leave, but the door back out to the service area was locked and there was a sign saying only a manager could open it. Unable to get the attention of any of the mechanics on the other side and resigned to the fact that I would now have to trek through the store to the main entrance and around the building to the service parking lot, I took a deep breath and headed into the store. A couple of aisles in I ran into an associate and asked if he knew if anyone was on duty in the service dept. He said he would page someone - but having pushed the "call for assistance button" several times to no avail, and spotting a mechanic coming through the service door I bolted for the door, catching it before it closed and asked the mechanic if I could PLEASE dump my oil. He said only the manager has the key to the oil tank and that I'd be better off going to AutoZone as he didn't know when the manager would be back. Getting in my car, I drove to the front of the store and headed for customer service to have a conversation with the manager - who wasn't there. I don't know what good it'll do - but I'm so pissed off about the experience I'll be composing a letter to the store manager and the home office. Avoid this store. Walmart needs to update their auto center hours don't bother getting there at 7am because the technician CANNOT start his job on the cars without the other technician that comes at 8am, the sweet guy I believe Rafa is his name was out at 7am taking cars in while the "technician" Erik was waddling around enjoying his coffee,I asked him I was confused if they were open at 7 or 8 he then told me they open at 7am but he cannot start on the cars without the other technician at 8 so you're telling me you need 2 guys to do an oil change ? Not surprised this Walmart has low stars. Well, here's another low rating for this location. Customer service is horrendous. There is NONE. I got hurt here at this location because of their faulty shelving and a big metal piece falling off and causing injury to myself. Staff were not were to be found. Hobbled around looking for help. Once found the "help" was lackluster. Didn't care. Didn't apologize. Weren't at all concerned. They must be used to the injuries occurring. No compassion. Was referred to their insurance company CMI to file a claim. What a joke! Ends up after a week they come back telling me Walmart isn't to blame for my injury of the metal shelving falling onto my body and causing profuse bleeding, bruising, and affecting my physical wellbeing. Ummmm ok? Wtf? So it's my damn fault? Anyways. The whole process was a joke. The claims lady Dawn Walker was a moron. So just know if you get hurt at walmart for any reason they don't give a rats ass about their patrons. They already wanna turn it around on innocent people. I came in their to shop and came out bleeding and hurt and I was inside about 15min when this happened. Screw Walmart, screw CMI! Zero clue how to treat people. Zero care or concern when people get injured on their property. Nice to know. All I know is that it's not my damn fault that shelving piece came down it's Walmart's damn fault for not protecting customers on all levels while shopping on their property. On Sept 22 2020, I shopped at this Walmart location. My the time I finished shopping, there were huge lines at self-checkout and of course the few staffed checkouts. The self-checkout registers were only half-turned on - available for use. People were abandoning their carts. I get VERY CONCERNED about what is done with the melted ice cream, meat left out at room temperature in this situation. I doubt very much that Walmart tosses it. In addition the huge lines create far more exposure to COVID than needed. When I asked Angel (the Walmart employee staffing the self-checkout - male employee - what was going on and did the manager know of the problem - he said yes the manager knew, they were short staffed and yes - in response to my question, they were OK with COVID exposure and abandoned carts. Last trip to this Walmart for me - it was scary. I have read that Walmart managers make $150K + a year - not sure what they are doing to earn this. read more

Employee David is absolutely amazing. He was outside collecting carts and he went out of his way to help me find an electric cart for my daughter who had recently broken a rib. He had excellent customer service and went out of his way to help us and was extremely nice. It is really rare to have such excellent customer service at a big box store. read more

My daughter recently went in the store with her 12 year old. The cashier made a particularly rude remark to the young girl (about her hair!) for absolutely no reason, causing her to cry. When my daughter recovered enough to call the store to complain she was told "Oh I know who that would be." What? Always a bad experience when we visit Walmart, especially this location. I don't understand how a huge super center can have so many check out lanes and plenty of staff walking around but only 2/30 lanes are open. Makes no sense. Today we waited 20 minutes to check out. Ridiculous! We had heard that Walmart had a bank type system and we wanted to check it out. There was just one associate helping. We waited in line for over 45 minutes to ask a few simple questions, not to mention the associate Mayra was extremely indifferent. We asked her a question about how the checking account with the debit card worked and she said she had no idea so she called what seemed to be a supervisor who also had no idea. She instructed us to call customer service because they didn't know what the card was.... Where is the training? Where is the customer service? I can honestly say we hate coming here. My goodness what a ripoff. I ordered a much needed 105 Sq Ft roll of Reynolds No Stick foil from their website, but it was not eligible for delivery, just pickup. After ordering, there was much confusion as to when it would be available. So I try to reach the store by phone, as it is a 15 minute drive for me. Ha ha, no one ever answers. Finally I get a text to pick up the foil, so off I go. I get to the super center and walk around inside the store in a big circle to the "Pick Up Area", a huge carousel, where I scan a bar code from an email they sent, and out comes .... a 70 Sq Ft package of the foil. Now the store is one big mob scene, no way I am now going to get into a long customer service line. So I drive home, and try to call customer service. Ha ha! Rings for 3 minutes ... no pickup. In summary, they simply ripped me off, getting 10 bucks and tax for 2/3 of the quantity of the ordered product. I will surely never use this super stinker again. read more

I went to the optometry today to get glasses and contacts. I knew what contacts i wanted but i am picky with glasses because i dont like how they look on me. The optometrist that helped me was Amanda. She listened to what i had to say, was honest with me about how the glasses looked which really helped and we found the perfect pair within minutes. She was very helpful, super nice and an overall great person. I appreciate her help so much and now am looking forward to my super cute new glasses. Yay! thank you again Amanda. read more

Walmart saves me money but I would NOT recommend the wedding registry. I chose it because it was more economical for my family and friends. I registered and chose my items online and made sure the items would be "available in store. After hearing from several family and friends that the items I chose were not in stock and that the staff was clueless, I went to the store to investigate. Promised tire repair in one hour. Three operatives standing by. One car for oil change no tire work. Manager I was speaking with told two guys to deal with oil change and one remaining guy to do my puncture repair. Time in 3:20 pm Return at 4:40, job not started. Erika, the tire department Manager was curt, bordering on rude, of absolutely no value whatsoever. I asked for Store Manager who arrived after 10 min. as I was walking out. He Denied that a one hour service was offered and promised. I pointed out who was party to the discussion, Gabriel, two other mechanics. I found later that the "Manager "Petie (?) ordered the staff to do two other vehicles first, despite the fact that in my presence, they agreed and contracted to get my repair done immediately for completion by 4:30 pm. The tire was purchased 11/30/2016 ( 3 months old!). Intake manager could not be found! Asst. Store Manager was less then useless, all he could do was put my unrepaired tire back in my trunk. I'm back to American Tire or Big O, it may cost an extra $10 or $12 but at least you get service and courtesy. Walmart Tire dept. La Quinta store, absolutely to be avoided at all cost!!!! This store is literally the worst. Yes, the prices are low. However, the customer service is very poor. I am here now (arrived at around 7:45am), and I have asked 4 workers where I can find trash bags and dish soap. None of them really knew where these things are located, and they all waved to a distant corner and said "I think they are over there." After walking and walking, I finally ask for someone to call for help. The woman called and said, "someone will be here." She then left and no one came. I finally got a manager and she guided me to these items. If you just want cheap items, come here. If you want any type of assistance or help, do not come here. Simple. I was waiting for help to take a closer look at the jewelry and I waited for 10 minutes and keep pressing the " call for assistance" button but after after waiting for 5 minutes and pressing the button again and waiting another 5 minutes and then pressed the button again and still no help! Employees just would walk by and not even offer help. I asked a employee to call someone to help me and on the radio you could hear employees joking around.
