I don't understand the logic of Walmart. They close most of the self checkout lanes to try and curb the shoplifting (an employee told me this a while ago) but instead of opening the lanes with actual employees doing the checkout, there are 1-2 employees standing around each self checkout lane just to keep an eye on the customers. At night they shut down almost every lane so customers are stuck waiting in ridiculously long lines to checkout. The same thing happens at the other Walmarts in town. Today I had a really weird interaction with two employees at the self checkout. I was scanning my items (I only had four) when one employee came up and started asking questions about one of the items in my cart. They said they'd never seen it before and asked where I found it. I told them the aisle but then the second employee sneaked behind me and did something on the terminal screen. As I was putting the handheld scanner back in the cradle, the second employee said I had to rescan one of my items. I said I scanned everything but when I looked at the screen, one of the items I scanned was gone. I know I scanned it before the first employee started talking to me so I tried rescanning but the terminal gave me an error. The second employee scanned their badge and then tried again for me and it worked. I don't know what they did while the first employee was talking (or distracting me) but it was really suspicious. read more

Had a horrible experience with the auto care center , Auto Care department manager and the team lead are unprofessional and treat customers with their bitter attitude , and dismiss you because it is not important to them. The issue was I threw away my receipt for 2 sodas and they would not let me leave the auto care exit just for a receipt worth 5 dollars, I brushed it off but I realized that's illegal due to fire and safety precautions, the interaction was unfortunate but the fact they wouldn't let me out when I can see my vehicle out the window was not acceptable. read more

Went to Walmart for a regular grocery trip. Went to checkout with a full cart and there were no bags to put my groceries in. I asked a worker if there were any bags and he said that they wouldn't have any bags until tomorrow, and walked away. It was extremely upsetting to have to put each individual grocery in my car and then unload each grocery when I got home. read more

I have to update my review because I finally got my refund on 10/6. It was originally promised in 3 hours on 9/14 but it took 22 days with 6 on-line chats and a couple e-mails from me. At least they finally came through even though I had to hound them to do the right thing. I will be extremely cautious about what I order from walmart.com in the future!!! read more

BEWARE OF THE AUTO CENTER ON WALTON BLVD!!! If I could rate the Auto Center with NO STARS that is what they would get. I purchased tires through Walmart.com and paid for the lifetime balance, rotation, road hazard warranty and valve stems at an addition cost. I should have known something was not right when my son took the truck and they asked him how many tires where being replaced when all they clearly had to do was scan the barcode from the app. With this being said, once they were complete with the tires, there was a clicking noise coming from the front. They guy said the truck was ready and we just needed to go to the register but I told him that the clicking noise needed to be fixed. Come to find out that the weight they put on the rim was rubbing on the arm of the truck. The guy who told us we were good to go went to get another employee and upon checking the tire, he apologized and said they ran out of sticky weights but should have let us know. Upon further inspection, only the front tire had a weight, they did not apply them to the other three tires. I went to the cashier so I could just leave and go to to the Walmart on Rinconada so the truck could properly get balanced and they were still charging me the balance fee. Upon speaking to the only manager on duty (Javier), he started off with an attitude and was completely unprofessional. Upon asking for the store managers name, he said it under his breath, I asked him again and he became snarky. I asked him for the last name and he was completely rude. The store manager currently is out of town in meetings but I am looking to schedule a meeting with him to address not only the unsafe situation they were going to put my son in, but the unprofessionalism from his management team. Greeter was friendly, but the goodness ended there. Went to electronics to get the item I wanted. I searched for several minutes as two employees engaged in a personal discussion. Giving up, I went up front to pick up the second item I needed. Found it and headed toward a nearby self checkout with the green light on. It was roped off. Two different employees, also visiting. There were some checkouts open, but on the other side of the store. I know I could have interrupted in electronics and walked to the other side of the store for self-checkout, but why should I have to? Physical stores take out local ads telling us to shop in person. I try to do that, but when they don't have basic items, and employees won't help you, Amazon is the obvious answer. You need to do better or even the mighty Walmart will fail. read more

When I order from their online app the app states that the items that I order are available but then when I place the order I get a message from them starting that they don't have those items in stock. But when I physically go to this store the same day I find the items that their app states that they didn't have. In store shopping is ok but they also treat most customers like they are trying to steal items. read more

I've had grocery delivery for the last year. They regularly have delivery people who can't read simple instructions, replacements email delivered during or after delivery, so I couldn't chose whether or not I wanted them. I paid for delivery due to physical disabilities. Sometimes I could get a refund for unwanted substitutions. Then they started requiring returns. So they deliver something I don't want, I have to drive to the store to return the item. Defeats the purpose. I'm not sure continuing with them is helpful. They don't offer all the options available in the store for delivery, either. read more

I wish I could leave a zero rating! I went there today and they had a large area up front of plants. 75% were dead. and I don't mean they were ALMOST dead. they were yellow, wilted beyond saving, appeared to have not been watered in weeks DEAD! so I asked a check out lady, a gentleman over the garden area, a worker in the front of the store and the lady that comes in once a week to check on them (she works for the outside vendor) about lowering the original price. they are there by an outside vendor. she said she has no control over the prices, I was willing to give half price for the few remaining ones that looked like they might be revived. I asked the manager. nope, he claimed not to have control over the pricing either. so you're telling me NO ONE THERE has any say in the pricing?! and NO ONE THERE can, oh I don't know, maybe CONTACT the person who DOES have the final say in pricing?!!!!!! what a sh^*^ty was to run a business. someone is lying. read more

This Walmart is an ok Walmart. It was in a great location for the fact that we were staying at the Hampton right next to it and we wanted to grab snacks! The inside wasn't the cleanest and the staff was definitely not the best. They had a decent stock on items and good sales going on at the time. At 2am these employees are more interested in talking to each other then helping customers. This includes the security guard/cop that seems to just be keeping the checker company. When we asked to speak to the manager we were informed the manager was busy and we would have to wait at least 30min. ***90 later update 3:30am on Valley Walmart Charlie was able to help us. He was kind and helpful and not put out. Walmart on Walton in Las Cruces NM, has a horrible way of dealing with customers. Amanda is the "manager" in customer service, when you call to speak with her, she is always to busy, you leave your number for a return phone call and you never hear from anyone. I don't know where they get these associates they hire, but they are from the bottom of the barrel. Half the people you speak with don't have a clue about their job, what's going on, zero respect for customers, lousy communication skills, don't give a rats behind. I dealt with an extremely rude manager (Vanessa). Called corporate and was promised a followup given that the woman mocked me for being upset over treatment by another staff member. It has now been about three months and I have yet to get a call back. I suggest shopping at the store on Valley. This one has never properly enforced masking for their subpar employees. It is always filthy. The employees are rude, unhelpful, and generally awful. There is a very good reason this store has the rating that it does and why, prior to covid, they were limiting their hours. The place is awful and not worth the time. read more

The clerk in the electronics department had no clue what I was asking for and incorrectly asked an "associate" if they had the part. While this person was leading me to the area he noticed other associates standing around in front of the TVs. This is one of the 3 huge Walmarts in Las Cruces. It's a great one stop shopping store so you can avoid the summer heat. For me, great customer service. An associate asked if everything I find was OK, another lady helped me find shelf liners and the gentleman in the checkout was happy to help. read more

Wow. Does everyone who works here have a bad attitude? I was waiting in a long line and this guy at the register was trying to use tax exempt status or something. The employee was getting angry at him because the guy didn't say right away that he had tax exemption. So the guy's entire purchase had to be redone. The guy apologized like 5 times but when the employee kept hassling him the guy snapped back and said the employee should have at least said hello before immediately starting to scan his items. I think the employee didn't know what he was doing so he took it out on the guy. Poor bastard. When I got to the register the employee rushed me through as fast as he could barely saying anything to me. Maybe I go to the Walmart on Valley from now on. read more

Extremely rude associates! They cut in front of you in the aisles without excusing themselves, they do not greet you while shopping. I have seen a disabled lady in a Mart cart trying to reach something while 2 employees just stared, I ended up helping her and looking back at them and said "really?". I *used* to shop at this store almost all of the time. However, today I discovered that, in Walmart's words, "We're taking steps toward real change." Well the only change that I saw were aisles that required very careful navigation through them if someone else was also in that particular aisle (room for two carts +1", maybe). Many aisles were totally clogged! The aisles are now so close that I accidentally knocked someone's cart and also knocked someone on a handicap cart - and I was trying to be very careful. If you are masochistic, then show up during early afternoon on the weekend. If you'd prefer to do some shopping without the aid of screaming children, then do your shopping in the mornings on a weekday; you will see a vast stay-at-home/retired majority who are much more pleasant to be around. It's walmart, okay? Crowded, dirty, never-enough-cashiers, too-many-people-at-the-self-checkout, god forbid you have to wait in the tobacco aisle--all of these things are typcial american-wallyworld. I like using the triviz entrance as the entrances on Walton are always full of jagaloons trying to pull some shifty manuvering as you enter/exit the parking lot. It's too bad there isn't much competition in this town. Maybe a Costco, Winco, maybe a frys would help to give the local populace a sense of choice rather than empowering the greedy Walton family. I gave this location 2 stars because it's very rarely a great store with great employees. I cannot tell you how many times this store is a constant disappointment. I am beyond shocked this place has not had a management team come in from another store to literally take over and teach people how to have a good work ethic towards it's consumers. I do delivery from this location and ran into an issue with being billed for the ONE item on my list I needed more than anything else on my list and it was not delivered. Again, billed to me but not delivered. I contacted the store directly and talked to some guy named Johnny in delivery that seemed so bothered that I'd call and ask them if they can have it delivered. He didn't want to help me and was very unprofessional until I asked him for his name and I even flat out asked him, "are you really going to help or do you just not care because I can't tell?". He put me on hold then came back saying he would be sending someone else out with a delivery for the missing item. He didn't give me an estimated time, didn't give me a new order number, nada. The item was never delivered and so basically he told me something quick and appeasing to get me off the line. This employee needs to learn some manners and shouldn't be so bothered by the people when that's exactly what the job is about... PEOPLE. On the phone call I literally felt like I was calling someone that might be working from home with their kids in the background screaming and yelling, playing around. That is fine, I do think a work environment should be fun especially when you aren't in the front end of things and you can be more relaxed BUT at the same time, when you're having too much fun horsing around with your team to care or do your job that's a problem. You are there to WORK first then have chill times when your work is being done correctly and well (or at least that's how I see it). You get paid to WORK and to treat your customers correctly. Why is it that people work at a place that is in the business of consumers and their staff literally treats the very people they serve like everything is a joke? Nothing is professional and it just blows my mind a corporate and nationally known business runs itself like this. This location is a disgrace to Wal-Mart. This is not the only incident that makes me realize I should NEVER shop at this location again. I have shopped here sporadically (when I HAVE TO) since it was built and employees do not care, are smug and lack basic professionalism. If you are able to avoid this location, avoid it and I would not use it for delivery since you will get attitude from the store IF you need to address something with them. read more

This store needs to improve on their policies and rules. Before hiring an employee they should give a class regarding the Pathways Assessment Test since that is a requirement in order to stay at your hired position. If they cannot give a class some type or kind of literature should be handed out to all potential employees or employees working there to go over. The company has lost lots of great workers due to this assessment testing because they could not pass. Some of the questions do not EVEN pertain to the position hired for. Most workers have been there for more than 6 months and lost their jobs due to this. So Walmart is like a revolving door. I like to shop at stores that I can remember a familiar face and friendly atmosphere. Especially, if I have been shopping there for many years. I hope in the future WalMart rethinks how they handle this. In the meantime they can start paying for everyone that they discharge unemployment benefits, while they look for another job. This is my closest walmart, so I come here often. I know one should not expect much from a walmart but this one always seem to have much lower standards then the other two in this city. The lines are always very long. Everything is disorganized and unkept. And the stock is so pitiful. read more
