This did not start well. I tried to get batteries that are now locked in a cabinet. A female associate was nice and tried to open the case but failed. I advised I had more shopping to do. The associate suggested I do my shopping and try again later. A few minutes later I was in the shoe department looking for a shoe shine sponge. A young woman stepping right in front of me to restock items but said nothing! I asked her if she knew two words. She said she knew many words. I told her the words she should be using were 'excuse me.' If looks could kill, I'd be dead by the way she looked at me. I felt she was extremely rude! I choose to ask for her help in finding a product to shine my shoes. She was able to recommend something that Walmart didn't carry. I'd need to order it online. I thanked her and left. As I was leaving, I caught the eye of a young man who offered to help. I told him of my attempt to get batteries. He (Damarius) was able to unlock the battery cabinet. However, I was able to find all the items online and had already ordered them by the time I saw Danarius. I felt obligated to buy the batteries since he had opened the cabinet. He graciously said, 'No problem, if you don't want them. But should you need them I the future, I'll be here to help.' I was very pleased as he turned a bad experience at Walmart into a good one by his excellent customer service. His female coworker could take lessons from him! read more

This place sucks. I went to pickup a curbside order that they told me was ready. Waited over 30 mins and decided to call the number on the sign. Many people say it's a breeding ground for COVID, or the parking lot is damaged, and it has cart's everywhere. Well, when I got there, parked, no cart's in sight, all were in the cart stations. and the cart's are people's fault for not putting them in the right spot. Anyway's I go in, I'm greeted by the nicest employee, saying hello, asking me how my day's been. This store seems like a breeding ground for covid-19, which is why I was there, their pos systems indicated online that they had lysol spray in stock (they didn't) Before you even get into the store the parking lot is completely littered with ppe everywhere. To my shock a third of the patrons had on no mask, and I counted no less than 10 employees, again NO MASK. I hate following stereotypes but it seems Walmart image is less than steller. It's Walmart... It's the one that's in my neighborhood. I come here often and rarely have any complaints. They are usually pretty clean and well stocked. There are always people in the isles doing stock and most of the time they will ask if you need help finding anything. They have two separate self scan stations at opposite ends of the store, which is really convenient. I haven't had to do any returns and have yet to use the grocery pick up but I'm sure I will check it out in the near future. read more

I never usually come here to shop but they had the brand of bed sheets I wanted. Made a quick trip to go get the sheets. I used the self check out lane & as I handed the lady at the door my receipt to check and showed her my bag she said, "Give up the starches." I replied, "what??" This is an updated review as I regularly patron this location. the store is usually stocked very well with groceries whenever I'm there shopping and the lines are very long but they do move relatively fast and they have a large self check out area. If you can just tried to avoid any of the employees and your visit here should be quite pleasant. Unfortunately today I had to deal with the employees because I had an on line order pick up. Terrible terrible customer service. Once I got to the back of the store to the pick up area, the associate there was on her phone and gave me zero greeting or acknowledgement and was very dry through out the entire process. She acted like she was at home and I came by uninvited and woke her up. A second associate brought out my package then the two proceeded to have a conversation right in front of me so I asked if I was all set as I was being ignored and they gave me no answer. They then scanned my package and asked me to "sign here"and then politely said to me "you're all set". They then said you're going to need a basket. Did not offer to get me one or anything. So I just picked it up and carried it it the store myself, on the way it I walked right by two other associates....And of course they were as unhelpful as the previous two so word of advice avoid the employees and you should have a good experience here read more

I believe all Walmart's are basically a "HIT OR MISS" type of deal. One day you'll have a "in and out" moment, then the next day all the line registers are backed up. This location isn't 24hrs - I've learned the hard way. Store closed at midnight, pickup area closes at 10pm, and I believe customer service desk closes around 10pm as well. For this to be a supercenter... it's very limited on items especially food and produce section as well. No sales really here. What i did notice - the online prices are cheaper than the products in the store. I'll highly suggest looking at prices online before you purchase; they'll price match with walmart.com but you'll need to show them price on your phone at the time of purchase for the same product. Staff was ok - not really friendly but if you ask a question, they'll still willing to help a little. Walmart VS Meijer = Meijer would WIN! I'll definetly suggest coming around 10pm or 11pm - cashier seems to move a little faster since they are trying to go home. Lol! read more

My 11 year old daughter needed glasses, so I took her to the Walmart in Livonia. I knew they had an optometrist there. So the lady working there completely ignored us, didn't ask us what we needed or tell us she would be with us shortly... NOTHING. After waiting 20 minuets she asked how she could help us. I asked if there were eye examines that day. "No" she said, didn't apologize. I went to complain to customer service they also didn't apologize. I will never shop at any Walmart ever again. Aside from the other complaints about a lack of registers, this place is terrible. I don't even blame management for the filth - it's the customers. The employees don't trash the store. They don't throw everything on the floor, or put unwanted items on random shelves (sure, that happens a lot, but NEVER on this level). Employees weren't responsible for several dirty diapers strewn across the parking lot (seriously, how does that even happen? Several? Really?). The employees seem to be trying to keep up with the chaos that happens, but just cant. I'm there twice a week, and it's sad to see the lack of respect by any of the shoppers. This Walmart is completely trash. I've came here several times before writing a review. I use Walmart for their money services & the money service counter has been shut down months, sending all customers to customer service line with ONE line handling all services. I am grateful for the workers during a time like this, some places are short staffed which i understand however this Walmart isn't placing their workers in correct areas. At least 2 people should be at the customer service line or call other employees to help assist. I do not recommend this Walmart at all if i could've gave it zero stars i would. As big as this store is, you would think they would have enough cashiers. There's probably 15 checkouts and only 3 cashiers. You have about 8 express self checkouts and people with full grocery carts going to thru the express self check outs. I live right off the corner of Middlebelt and Plymouth Roads and between this Walmart, Target, the Meijer down the road and the Kroger down Middlebelt, Walmart usually always has the best prices, especially in produce and beauty/toiletries. Their produce isn't always the best looking, you have to do a bit of a hunt but I buy lots of tomatoes, grapes, bananas and such and they have good prices. Shower gel, shampoo, feminine products, toilet paper, paper plates, etc are always much cheaper here than anywhere else too. But that's about where the positives stop. This store is ghetto city, but of course, it is a Walmart. Even though the prices are low, a lot of times I shop there, there's usually at least 2-3 things I need that aren't on the shelf. AND THERE IS NEVER AN EMPLOYEE AVAILABLE. EVER. I always have to go snooping for someone to help me and it's pathetic they don't have more people out on the floor in the grocery area. It's like everyone takes their breaks and lunches at the same time. I once had to walk all the way to the registers and customer service desk before I saw a blue-shirted employee to ask about dairy products that are way on the other side of the store. It's absolutely ridiculous! Even if you find someone who works there, the chances are they won't know what you're talking about or will give off an obvious attitude like they don't care or they're being inconvenienced! Last I checked, I was here to give you my hard-earned money and you were getting paid to take it..what is there to be so grumpy about?? I get much better friendliness from the Target next door and Kroger has good enough sales that I've been shopping there more frequently because I usually always leave Walmart irritated!!! read more

I have always been a fan of the great deals that you can find at Walmart, but SERVICE makes this place a zero! Lazy, Lazy, Lazy! It's like everyone has molasses running through their system. I quite often feel I should check for a pulse just to make sure they are alive. The hope of finding a good deal isn't worth tolerating the lack of servie, rudeness and apathetic behavior...I've made my final visit. I will stick to TARGET or drive to the Walmart out in Novi. Hell, go to the target next door and spend five minutes in the store and at least 2-3 people will ask you if they can help you find something. They don't seem irritated when asked where to locate an item. The staff aren't standing around, sucking down their sodas, gossiping about others in another dept. Their store is clean, well maintained, well stocked and the staff is pleasant. The Walmart at 7/Middlebelt really isn't any better :( read more

I keep hoping Walmart will improve but nope. One thing they do exceptionally well is to offer extremely poor service and lose customers. Despite numerous employees around the store they would rather gab than help someone. The cashiers are no better. Upon checking out today in the self service lane, the cashier tried to charge me three times as much for apples by the pound that were on sale. Then she just walked away from my checkout and walked away from the self service area. I eventually figured out how to remove the over charged apples and just checked out without them. Typically I avoid going to Walmart at all costs mainly because I'm too good for it.. But...I did go there to pick up a party sub because I had had them at friends houses and they were pretty good. This place is a disaster. It's like a whole new country. From the parking lot, where people act like morons, to the shopping experience, to check out. The attitude of most of the employees is "the man is making me work." No respect for other shoppers by most of the shoppers. And no respect from the employees. Holy absolute craphole. Online order takes 4 hours, and that isn't even to get a confirmation of my purchase being there. I ordered an item that was 'in stock' at this current location. I go to the location, and I find out that it is not there... I then get an email that they are shipping another one to the store and will take 5-10 days. After asking multiple times while standing in a 45min line if I could do an exchange without my license I was repeatedly told I could. After finally getting to the front, I was told to go get the replacement item on my own and then had to get back in the back of the line for another 30 min only to be told I could not exchange the item without my license. Shittiest experience ever. You guys need to screen or actually train your employees properly before you can call yourselves a business. Older guy that is running the self check out doesnt want to scan bottle returns (can tell because hes repeatedly asking me if these were from today and if they were real. which they had time and date on them from less than a half hour from my purchase.) so proceeds to scratch everyone with his finger and says they wont scan and i have to go to customer service. (Line of at least 10+ people) so instead i go up to the person standing by the entrance and request a manager because i know i just got blown off because he didnt want to handle my bottle returns. While waiting i explain to this employee the problem and he responds" why the fuck would he do that?" 20 mins pass by and no manager. Employee that called them looks at me and says "you might as well go to customer service, they never listen to us on here" speaking of the walkie talkies. So after having to wait in the customer service line for another 10 mins to tell my story once again. She quickly takes them, scans them with no problem, and continues to ask to describe this employee to her because she is also dumbfounded about the actions that were taken. So after the hour or so of debacle to get my whopping 12.70 bottle return that was causing everyone at walmart the biggest hassle, i leave still without even seeing a manager at all. I will never be going to this location again and will be putting this review on multiple forms of media to make sure this gets noticed. read more

I was told multiple times that my groceries were coming. I finally gave up and asked for a refund. Why have this service if you are not going to really deliver ? I have never been a fan of Walmart ever since I watched a documentary of the business in my college marketing class. I do not like how they are able to have their low prices by dominating the scene so much they demand from suppliers a price best for them (although kudos to the family for finding success). However....those low prices come in handy when I need to buy some things. As a single mother of a 10 month old it really helps. So every once in a while I meander my way in to the store to buy some formula or what not. The Livonia store is a pretty clean place every time I go. I usually find what ever I need quickly and head to the front to check out. At times lines are long and slow but for the most part I am able to check out quickly. I do not have any personal experience with the employees there. I have never needed help but I do notice how they have a lot of conversations that are loud and sometimes they stand in the middle of the aisle and do not move. My biggest issue comes when I have my infant child in my arm and a young man comes barreling out of the store and almost knocks me and my child over as he escapes an employee who is chasing him out of the store and again, almost knocks into me. I get the stories people have told of the kind of customers Walmart gets. I have been witness to a few so believe me when I say I cringe every time I walk into a store. Luckily I found a cheaper formula elsewhere so my trips are again limited. read more

At first, I thought maybe someone had passed gas while walking by but the entire time I was there, it smelled of poop; it continues to smell this way every time I visit this location. Why do I return? The same reason as everyone else, low prices and convenience. However, I also experienced terrible customer service. I walked up to 3 Walmart employees that were talking to one another. As I approached, they all looked at me, and continued their conversation. After about 3 minutes, it just became awkward so I started to walk away. One of them stopped me and said "So sorry, I was in the middle of a conversation. What do you need?". I asked her where the hand soap was and just like another reviewer said, she simply pointed me in the general direction and walked back to her co-worker to complain about how rude I was to interrupt. Really? I get this is THE worst place to work, but you chose the job bitch, so do it! Finally, I ordered a cake for my fiance's birthday about a week in advance. Thinking everything would be set to go, I waited until the very last minute to pick it up. Now, these cakes have always been very moist and the whipped frosting that they use is delicious. Although, is it really that hard to spell "birthday"? When I picked up the cake, it read "Happy Bithday, Brent". Alright, I get that mistakes happen. So I told the baker on hand about the mistake and she said "Ugh, really? This is not the first time this woman has misspelled such simple words on a cake". Ok, so can someone explain why she is either still employed, or simply why she is the one to write on the cakes if she CAN'T SPELL????? So the baker took the cake back, scraped off the "bithday" portion, rewrote the word, and handed it back..but the story's not over yet. I arrived home to show the family how yummy the cake looks just to realize that birthday is now spelled "birhday". From now on, I will not allow illiterates to write on my cakes. I will either buy a cake and decorate myself, or make one completely on my own. I mean, how do you people allow such morons to work on the cakes that are potentially used for the most special occasions of the year?
