they used to be the top Walmarts between here and Culpeper. Now we'd prefer Culpeper. There are employees who smell really bad, and some who have no interest or enthusiasm to even be there, the bathrooms are filthy a lot of the time now, nothing is ever where it should be. There's trash on the shelves in weird places, half drunk water bottles energy drinks empty popcorn chicken containers etc. we deliver and can Lose business to this lack of cooperation and hygiene too. I used to love Walmart... They no longer prioritize their employees or customers as they are consistently understaffed. I used to know that if it was needed, it could be found at Walmart; that is no longer the case. And, the product quality is no longer what it was. I was shocked as I tried to buy fruit and vegetables this week, but had to walk away finding aging, even molded product in multiple places. I would love to see them return to prioritizing their patrons. For now, due to their decline, I avoid them whenever possible. read more

This location is a mess at best!!! I went today to simply pickup a rug doctor I had already paid for... what should've been a 3 minute deal turned to 25 minutes of ME having to clear THEIR mess in front of the machines... by the way this mess was there last night too! The manager who was at the counter never offered assistance and neither did the other two staff that were standing there. Yay, my parents finally got a Walmart! However, this is no Supercenter folks! This is the smallest Walmart I've ever been to! While it's in a convenient location, and is clean since it's new, it is definitely lacking. My mom reports that they are constantly running out of things. Like Coke and Sprite. How is Walmart going to constantly run out of Coke and Sprite!?! She is unable to do her grocery shopping here because every time she goes, they are out of fairly common items. No cans of chicken noodle soup to take to work. Out of Ritz Crackers. Out of 97/3 ground beef. No I will not substitute it with 80/20. The list goes on and on. Hopefully, they are keeping tabs of this, and can send better shipments to this location. There are quite a few new neighborhoods out here with people who eat too! Also, there is not a nail salon or a Subway or McDonald's inside like every other Walmart "Supercenter!" read more

This is a brand new Walmart so of course it is very clean and welcoming. It is smaller than any other Walmart I have been in but it seems to have everything just like the larger stores. The employees are all nice and upbeat. They also have self checkout which is very convenient. I can't say I have anything to complain about. There is not much to compare this store to and it just opened that is why for now I am giving it 5 stars. This is being compared to food lion and the dollar store so even though I am not a fan of Walmart stores in general; I am a fan of this store. read more

I shop at the one in Locust Grove Virginia. I'd give it another star if it was an option. I've read that there's not much parking. Not true for this area. Even at the peak of Christmas shopping, there's parking. Also read the one about the lost blanket and how she couldn't get help. I've never had anything but perfect service. Employees stop to talk to you, which is amazing service. I've been at the one at Central Park and won't go there unless I'm forced to. I feel lucky to have this store. I must say that I have never reviewed a Walmart but I figured why not? I have been to the new Walmart in Locust Grove, VA a number of times now so it qualifies for a review. I should start out by saying that I have grown accustomed to calling this location before driving down for anything out of the ordinary or important. I was so used to the Walmart Super Center in Central Park having everything that I needed, that it threw me for a loop the first time I couldn't find an item at this Walmart. I blew if off and let it ride until the second time I couldn't find an item and then the third and fourth times came up soon thereafter. The problem that I have with this particular Walmart is two-fold. The first issue that I have is with general merchandise. You will notice right from the beginning that this Walmart is different in that it is smaller than your average Walmart (it is so small that there is only a single entrance into the store). Because of this, they only carry a fraction of the merchandise that you would find at your typical Walmart Super Center. That is why I have learned to call before driving down there for anything out of the ordinary or very important. The second problem that I have is with the pharmacy. You see, the lack of merchandise seems to carry right on over into the pharmacy. I have been there twice now for meds and have been turned away because they didn't have any in stock. That was a first for me, but the problem gets worse in the pharmacy. The woman pharmacist is an absolute rude ^!**&%^. In fact she isn't just rude, she is lazy. I don't know how many complaints I have had to voice on her with management at that Walmart but it hasn't improved. I have even had to go without my important meds for 48 hours due to her lack of concern and outright disregard for customer care. If you must get your meds at this Walmart, then be sure to go when the older gentleman pharmacist is working. He truly cares. So I have had mixed feelings about this Walmart but that doesn't affect my rating. I cannot give them more than 3 stars and that is being generous. I hate to say it but as convenient as Walmart can be, I actually avoid this one whenever possible and would NOT recommend it to anyone that has a choice in the matter. read more

I live less than a mile from this Wal-Mart location, and I go there often for groceries or other items. This morning I was looking for elastic to use with face masks I'm sewing, and unfortunately they were sold out. In fact that entire section was quite bare. I was disappointed, but not surprised. What DID surprise me was that as I walked through the store, I passed by 3 Wal-Mart employees (each at different times) walking toward me and then past me, and I said "Hello!" to each one, making sure to speak loud enough through my mask and trying to sound upbeat. The first person (male), said nothing. So I tried again, and the second person, female, said nothing. I wish I had taken note of their name tags, but in my 3rd encounter, a female with the nametag "Michele" I again said "Hello" and though she looked at me, she walked right past me without saying a word. WTH?!?!? What is going on here that these employees cannot even return a greeting to their customers--without which, I might add, they would not have a job. I did not know how to locate the manager, so decided this post was the next best thing. I realize we are in difficult times right now with the pandemic, but customer service is still important. If you do not like your job, I will be more than happy to take your place. Oh--and I want to add that I have NEVER experienced this at the prescription counter or the returns counter. The employees there are always pleasant and helpful. read more

I have been to this Walmart numerous of times and have had a good experience. I went grocery shopping on Sunday and they were out of a lot of items. It took me longer to shop cause I had to look around for alternative to the Great Value Walmart brand that I usually get and of course ended up spending more money. They really need to keep stock up, there seems to be plenty of employees to stock, since there were a lot of them just walking around. read more

Love it. It's perfect because my grandparents don't have to travel so far now for groceries or whatever else they need. It's also very clean and the people that work there are nice for the most part. Love it! Very convenient location and they carry pretty much anything I'd every want or need. Friendly staff too. I was in early one morning and some obnoxious woman was complaining that they were selling fall wreaths and she couldn't find any wreath hangers and DEMANDED to see a manager. One promptly came out and assisted her - there were wreath hangers there but this lady was "special" and couldn't find them. HUGE kudos to the manager for handling her professionally. :) read more

Perfect for closeby shopping for nearly anything you might need. Most employees are friendly. Lots of shopping carts that are clean, available and are in good condition. It's really difficult to go in with one thing in mind and come out with only that item. I take a list and only stray from it just a little. I notice the prices have rapidly increased. Christmas shopping was interesting -- this store appeared to be virtually empty two weeks after Thanksgiving with the beautiful Christmas store layouts. But the prices didn't look good until AFTER Christmas when the store was really crowded! One criticism is when you ask for an item that the store does not have, most employees tell you that "this is a small store and we don't carry as much as the bigger stores." So why is it called a Super Center? I wish it had an auto center. Otherwise, I like it for convenience but I drive 20 minutes further to Fredericksburg for lower prices and better selections. read more
