Not being familiar with the store, I stopped a guy wearing a Kroger "personal shopper vest" and he not only told me when to find the bread aisle but actually walked me to it. His name tag said "Jackie" and he's a credit to the Kroger staff. Great place to shop.

I was concerned the ads might be a bit and switch, but there was plenty of product available. I snared quite a few bargains. And I grilled one of the porterhouse steaks tonight and the quality of the beef was excellent. As for the rest of the store, inventory is limited. Some empty shelves, limited selection, and most items are roughly 50¢ to 1$ more than a chain store. The locals have to pay for the convenience. I found it frustrating that many items weren't clearly priced. Particularly in produce. Also, OTG has its own off street parking lot for convenience. Is this an every day shopper? No. But sale prices provide a great reason to shop.

You know that scene from The Simpsons where Grandpa Simpson walks into a brothel, sees his grandson Bart, turns around and walks back out of the door? I kind of wanted to do one of those numbers upon entering Olde Towne Grocery. But I persisted, because I do love checking out local grocery stores when I'm visiting a new area. This one looked like it could have been so much better, but instead it was sad. Empty grocery shelves just give off a depressing feeling, you know? That said, the items that were on the shelves were arranged neatly, so there's that. There was very little produce, and what was there was just the hardy stuff that lasts a long time, like potatoes and onions. The meat counter did not look like it was in commission anymore. I guess a sparse grocery store in a neighborhood is better than no grocery store, right?

Target is Target is Target.  They're pretty much reliable and consistent everywhere you go.  This…read moreparticular location recently got the CVS add-on, which brought a much better selection of Health and Beauty Aids on board.  Their grocery section is surprisingly good, but feels a bit on the small side compared to other retail locations that have adopted grocery offerings. Two of the things that stand out for me at this location: 1)  The newly renovated Starbucks.  I like that the recent renovation that took out the old, staid Target snack bar to make it more of a grab-and-go kind of situation with a few tables, and the Starbucks is the star of that show. #AboutFreakingTime B) The service desk isn't as chaotic as some other Target service desks.  I like the fact that there are individual kiosks instead of a long-ass counter. Shopping at this location is pretty easy and, for the most part, things are the same as in most other locations.   If I'm looking for fabricated half-inch pipe I know where to look because I know where the fabricated half-inch pipe is located in a different store.  (Will someone PLEASE get that movie reference?) The staff is usually attentive and helpful here.  I'm the most impressed when I visit electronics.  I was recently looking for a new sound bar and had a few questions about options on some of the models.  I spoke to two different team members and they were both very knowledgeable and helpful.

The food samples are great and have been different every time I've visited. Trying the samples has lead to a few purchases as well that I wouldn't have bought otherwise. This isn't my regular grocery shopping spot, but would be if I was buying for a family. Right now it's a stop every few weeks for bulk items. Meat, chicken sausages, yogurt, eggs, and a few other items here truly are cheaper than other grocery stores.

I find parking to be extremely crowded. Prices are higher than the other area grocery stores. What I like is you can use your Kroger card/kroger coupons here. My son loves their bakery donuts. This local business has been around for 49 years which is very impressive alone and the variety of products you can see why. Clean, well stocked, great wide open spaces between the aisles, and brightness through out bring positive energy. Took advantage of the picnic table in front of this store to drink my healthy smoothie and enjoy the sunshine. Enjoyed finding new products to try to in the future, friendly staff, and having locations all over the city is another great plus. Looking at their various social media I found even more products like the three ingredient Lemonade to get as well. Can't wait to return!
