Margate Walmart is always crowded. No matter when I go it feels busy and hectic, and there's almost always a police officer out front. Inside is just as chaotic aisles are messy and it's not the easiest store to get around. The staff doesn't really help much. Most of the time they're short with you or just seem annoyed if you ask a question. It's not the friendliest place to shop, that's for sure. The only good thing is the prices. You can still find what you need at a decent cost, but the experience overall is stressful. I usually only go here if I have to read more

One of the advantages of shopping in the suburbs is that you get to visit large well stocked stores like this Super Walmart. They are huge with lots of parking and a wide variety of items to sell. I was really intrigued by a Helium Ballon Kit that I saw for sale....The balloon kit includes 1 balloon tank, 30 helium balloons, and yards of shiny curling ribbon. So, you basically inflate all the balloons about an hour or two before the event and you don't have to run around carrying inflated balloons in your car while running errands the day of the party. Though shopping here can be extremely overwhelming because the store is so huge and it's always crowded, I have been in love with the curbside service since last year. I purchase the same items I would purchase in store but from my phone, after I'm notified the order is ready, I let them know I'm on my way, and I'm literally in and out the curbside within five minutes. This store is newer and cleaner than the Walmart nearest us. As a "super" store it has a bit of everything. If we are on the west side of town, we will come here for a grocery run instead of going far east. Everything was displayed neatly on the shelves and in the coolers. All shelves were fully stocked and there weren't any big stacks of boxes in the aisles waiting to be unpacked. In addition, the supermarket aisles are marked -- and correctly. So if you're looking for cereal, it's actually in the aisle that's marked cereal! This sounds pretty basic, but it's not always true everyplace. Price wise, in general, they are equal to or cheaper than Publix depending on the item. The frozen food section is much less for the same brand names. Their store brand is pretty good on most items, especially canned goods, at a much much lower price point than branded items. I'm sure we will return if in the area... read more

Thought I'd leave a review after this stellar customer service from this location. Stopped in here after 7:30 pm to purchase some makeup. The kind I wanted had a red tag blocking access, and instructed me to "ask an associate." So, upon finding an associate nearby in a blue vest, I kindly asked if she could help me with the makeup. She replied, "nope. I don't have a key." As she was turning to walk away, I asked if she knew of someone who would have the key. She said, "no. I just got in." Hmmm, we started walking away and she did point out another employee in a nearby aisle who would have the key. Many employees here lack basic customer service skills. Makes me want to drive the extra miles to go to Target. It's like they hate their job and it shows... I definitely won't be coming back to this location any time soon. Bummer, Walmart. I bought online about 3 sets of rugs for the bathroom on November 10 and I never received them, I called custom service and they asked me for the order number and in the photos I took to keep there is no number so they told me they couldn't do anything!! I give the store two stars maximum, because it's close and a couple of times I've seen some good customer service but there's not much more than that on the positive side. Typically customer service is not so great and if the cashier has a friend and she is in line I've seen it a number of times where they will allow them to jump lines or open the closed register for their friends and close it afterwards. Sometimes you can tell when they have lost power because all of their food has freezer burn in the freezers and they don't even chip off the massive amount of ice on the now spoiled food. If the food gets warm, I think it's not right to just leave it in the refrigerator and pretend like somethings never happened Customers in the produce section will handle every piece of food never mind not have a mask on even when it was mandated---because I don't count somebody's nose sticking out of the mask as proper countermeasures. I have a little doubt that people wash their hands in the restroom because typically the restroom is not any place you want to go unless there is absolutely no other choice. Animals are cleaner Most often shelves are not properly restocked, I have bought a number of times food with expired fresh dates because I was too tired to look that night that I bought it. If I have returns, the people at the customer service department are usually nice. To me there is still a good amount of store security that is lacking because I find product that has been opened in the other aisles or somebody has shoplifted or eating part of the food that they have not paid for. I don't know if it's just a function of the pandemic but lately I don't see as many kids going through the toy section etc. and taking basketballs and bouncing them all over or riding bicycles in the aisle or mishandling products in other aisles. This was so common and annoying and nobody did anything about it. I really don't think most people like the self check out but aside from taking jobs away from people it certainly doesn't give you any sort of warmth or feeling of loyalty to the store. As I guess it is becoming human nature, just like the joke on city workers, you will find three or four of them standing together talking not working when somebody is trying to get some help with something or there are registers that could be opened because the lines are ridiculously long. I go to the store because it is close but most of the time if I am not exhausted I will drive several times this distance to go to better run stores or just order online which I don't like to do. Of the few stores I've been to in the general area of this one or a reasonable drive, I found most of the other stores better in just about every category I like this is the low effort or a low class version. read more

This Walmart is horrible! I used to love shopping here until now ! They recently sold me an old PlayStation remote that does NOT work as a "new" product! It was a gift for my son ... when I gave it to him for Christmas he asked me did I know that it was used and I told him it was NEW! After he tried to use it and it didn't work I tried to return it and was told I can't return it because that's not the remote control because the charging port looked old and after speaking with the "team leader" April she said it's not returnable because the return policy is 15 days after speaking with Walmart corporate they also verified what I read which was it's a 90 day return policy for gaming accessories. The person I dealt with was very rude to me but what most offensive is that Walmart sold me a used in defective item and will not give me my money back! read more

Walmart delivery is the worst I have ever encountered I order from Medicare who give them incredible business. Today not once but twice I had deliveries that didn't reach me. The driver's have to take pictures of where they leave the items and the first time the pic was not of my door I don't know who got my items . The second time a few hours later the picture was all red, no door just the color red. Walmart did refund me but I have to wait 10 days and didn't get the medicine I need. It is like Twilight zone , it's not supposed to be happening but it is ! Walmart is losing a lot of money because they are probably stealing items. Why else not deliver to the right address ? I have been using the Walmart delivery service for about a year now. Other than a broken jar l have had had an otherwise pleasant experience until today. The driver did not deliver 17 of my 52 items but still put it in as full delivery for $187.+ !! I immediately called the store to try and report this to no avail: simply, they would not answer the phone ( both my daughter and l tried about a dozen times). As a result l called my credit card company to dispute the pending charge as well as get a new card so that they can't fraudulently charge me again in the future. I'm disappointed and will be canceling my membership. Note to driver: DO NOT accept large orders you do not want to fulfill! I had a large order and planned on leaving a 20% tip . Buyer beware! Walmart is a place that is hard to judge. On the one hand they have a great selection, great prices, and are conveniently located. On the other hand, they have a reputation for below average customer service and disorganized merchandise. I am happy to say that on this visit, my experience was very pleasant and the service was great. Everything was were I expected it to be and I quickly made my way to the express register. The cashier, upon scanning my purchases, was nice enough to pull a coupon book and cut and scan coupons to lower my bill. She save me over $4 on my $20 purchase. I thanks her for it, and she said she was glad to do it. Excellent service in my book. The Amazon of retailers, here you can find anything from food, clothes, medicine, electronics, hardware, toys, pet and home goods and supplies...all at great prices. It is a deal when you want to get a few items and don't have that much time. This store offer online ordering of products, they put them in a box for you, and you just drive to pick it up. Parking can be tricky because this location is so busy, there is not much they can do about that. The plaza does offer plenty of spaces, it is just busy. Rudest Clerk I've Ever Met at Walmart I've been shopping at this Walmart for years and have mostly had good experiences. Recently, I bought one item in the electronics department. I said hello to the clerk, who was named Marcus. He didn't say anything. He scanned my item and handed me the receipt without saying anything. He immediately turned away and left. Throughout the entire transaction, he said nothing and made no eye contact. His attitude was that he was doing me a big favor by checking out my item. I have been treated well by other personnel at this store, so I think the management needs to retrain some of its rude employees. read more

Good people, just so you know...WalMart hasn't had masks or gloves since the first week of January - on the shelves. Why? They're diverting them all to their website and selling them for $10 - $30 over their regular price, depending on the source / manufacturer. So it isn't that they aren't making them. And it isn't that they don't have them in stock. They have vendors / sources all over Asia. It's that people are ordering them on line and WalMart is making almost 200% markup on some items. Last visit here. This store is just a few miles from my house, but no longer will I patronize this location. I travel every week and stop in at Walmart's on a regular basis, but never have I seen one that is this consistency bad. Just yesterday, as I exited the building, I was greeted by a door person/security guard who wanted to see my receipts, no big deal, I handed them to him....and absolute silence....no "Have a nice day", no "Everything is fine".... nothing, not a word, I just walked away after he handed me my receipts back.. The cashier wasn't much better, again no "Have a nice day", "Thank you for shopping". The one exception is the young man, Harrison, that works in the electronics/photography department. He has always been friendly and engaged me in conversation as I have picked up my pictures. No to pile on but, there's always lines and plenty of unopened registers. read more

Worst online pick up department and customer services over an hour waiting for my order and all the employee did was running back and forth with empty carts. 1 hour took him to bring 1 order to a lady that was before me. He even said Im by myself and my manager left and told me to bring out the orders and you guys put your order in your cars. I said i have no problem with that but he never came back. i went inside trying to get my order and no luck. the lady came i asked her i want to pick up my order she said no cant do. you have to be patience with my associate and i said im waiting over an hour all Your associate did was to bring 1 order outside she insist she cant do anything and even she was talking to me off the clock (her own words). on my way outside i crossed path with the associate and told him THANK YOU FOR HAVING ME FOR 1 hour waiting for my order and he starts screaming that wasn't his fault. when i raised my voice and told him that lower his voice. So I wanted to purchase some cigarettes as I waited in a super long line it was finally my turn. When I asked cashier to please ring me up a pack of cigarettes she told me that only 1 register is allowed to ring up tobacco. I asked for the manager and she told me that only 1 register is programmed to ring up cigarettes.. why would you have only 1 register program to do this. I really hate Walmart. Not because of all the stuff people say about it being a terrible company that doesn't take care of its employees and kills small business...but because I really feel that they don't appreciate their customers or value their time. As much as I try to avoid this store, I end up here once every few months (usually after forgetting just how awful my previous experience was) because it is a one stop shop for grocery/household items. The last two times I have been to this particular Walmart it has taken me 3-5 attempts to find a working cart. It seem like every single one has something wrong with it. I abandoned at least two carts in the aisles because the wheels were so ridiculous I kept hitting things. Then after the cart debacle comes the checkout fiasco. What ever happened to the rule that if a checkout line is more than 3 people long you open a new register? Maybe that only happens up north. Also, the last time I was at the checkout I noticed a colony of ants that had taken a strong interest in the beef jerky. Had I not been standing at the register so long perhaps they would be able to get away with the lack of cleanliness, but standing there for fifteen minutes, you start to really notice things. The prices here are good. But if you are a smart shopper you can get that same prices other places through coupons and keeping track of sales. Time after time I come to the conclusion that saving a dollar or two shopping at Walmart is not worth the frustration I put myself through entering the store. read more
