Today my 4 year old little boy got lost in Walmart, which is probably one of the scariest things that can happen as a parent. Immediately all of the staff (I'm not exaggerating) jumped in to help find him. Staging employees at every possible exit/entry. It was clear these employees had strict training in which they carried out seamlessly. After 15-20 min they found him hiding with a toy in hand, His sneeze gave him away. Once he was found my husband overheard employees stating that he was found, which he ran over and asked where he was. It wasn't until the employee confirmed he was the father that he gave him any information of his whereabouts, we were impressed to say the least. As much as every parent can say this will never happen to them, the fact of the matter is it does and can. It's not about if and when it does happen though, it's how the people around you support you in times it does. If it wasn't already obvious, I have nothing but trust my son's safety was top priority to these employees today. I'm not generally one to write reviews like this, but getting my son back safe and sound today- this is the least I can do. I have spent probably around $60 on a squirt guns. Do not leave the store without trying them. So far none of them work. Their customer service line takes way too long to call it customer service. I went in to get a few things and milk was one of them. Sign on the coolers said $2.69 rang up $3.01. Went up to the an employee and mentioned the it and was told oh well it is what it is. Normally I wouldn't be writing a review for a Walmart, but the customer service at this location is atrocious. We just came in to pick up a few items, one of the employees directed us to the customer service desk to checkout if we didn't have any produce. Fine, but the employee in that area seemed less than thrilled to ring up our purchases. She also didn't want us to leave our hand held shopping basket there after our purchases (which caused us to get into a conflict with nasty employee #2 on the way out). So as we are leaving, my wife walked around people entering the store to put the shopping basket away, "the store greeter" begins yelling at my wife -- "HEY LADY, HEY LADY !" w/ a scowl on her face as she wagged her finger. I first thought this was joke, but she actually believed my wife was going to run out the front door to steal the hand held shopping basket. Totally disrespectful. With coronavirus as the news headline day in and day out you would think they would care enough to look out for their customers health but no! No hand sanitizer to clean off germs from prior customers germs at the door. Manager said there were some in back stockroom but busy helping one customer over the good of many! Couldn't he delegate that job to anyone else. Retailers want us spending money as usual. If that's true perform basic job functions like refilling sanitizer at front door. Can't believe this is a job only a manager can do?? It was empty on my way in and on my way out, which was about 1 hour with no hand sanitizer and many, many customers coming in and out. read more

While visiting North Conway we needed to stock up on some last minute items that we forgot to pack, so we decided to stop in at this Walmart. Typically Walmart isn't my favorite place to shop but this location blew me away in a positive sense. The store itself is massive and it is incredibly organized. We found everything we needed and for the first time in a long time there was staff available to actually help us find what we were looking for. We ended up buying a ton of items even though we didn't need much. The only critique was the fact that my wife had to go and grab her license when I tried to buy a pack of Black and Milds. Not quite sure why that was the case, but I guess it's better to be safe than sorry. read more

It seems like every time we go camping we need something or we have forgotten something or something breaks. We are fortunate enough to always find a Walmart. They do have an RV section which is nice although limited. It's nice that they have groceries and paper goods and clothing all in the same store. We went camping in Maine this past week and I did not bring enough warm clothes so we were able to go over and pick up a couple of things to be able to layer clothes and stay warm. They just seem to have what we need at the price that we want to pay read more

So I'm pretty disappointed. I go to this Walmart multiple times per week. I'm a big time gamer. Unfortunately there's no GameStop nearby. So I tend to have to rely on Walmart. Picked up the new Assassin's Creed: Valhalla last week for $50. Absolutely hated it. Wanted to return it and get another game instead. And they tell me it's policy that they don't accept refunds on video games or movies. How is that right or fair? So if someone doesn't like a game or a movie they're forced to eat that money they WASTED on it. I had asked if there was anyway I could receive a store credit because the money would be going right back into their store. Of course was told "no. It's policy. We can only replace it with the same exact copy if something is wrong with it" by a snarky skinny boy with glasses at the service desk. So I'm just supposed to be okay with wasting $50 on a game I'm not gonna touch or play again? And I don't have a car to drive an hour and a half to the nearest GameStop just for them to offer me 15 bucks for it. Completely and utterly disgusted. Completely unfair. read more

Convenient location for the rural valley residents, but can you PLEASE PLEASE stock all natural tampons? There is not one product available in the entire store that does not contain proven cancer causing ingredients. If not organic, at least carry 100% cotton ones. Sometimes I am unable to wait for an amazon delivery if the household stash runs low. I do appreciate how much organic produce you carry and your non dairy options for milk expand every time I visit this store. Undoubtedly the most scenic Wal-Mart I've ever been to... Consistently clean and organized. I always stop here when I'm staying in Bartlett for the week - it's the closest 'one-stop shop' to where I stay, so I swing by on the way in and stock up. Good selection for food and makeup. I even found a bathing suit (out of season) when I forgot mine at home, so that was good. All in all, I'd say it's much better than your typical Wal-Mart. read more

I've lived in a lot of places, and I've always found that Walmarts in more rural areas tend to be much better than those in urban-suburban, heavily populated areas. I never visit Walmart when I live in a bigger city, but here in North Conway I often go once a week for grocery shopping and to pick up any other items I need. Typical Walmart, in that it's hit or miss in terms of quality. I picked up some organic coconut oil for a great price, they carry Cabot cheese and other dairy products, which I love, they even have organic meat on occasion. The produce section is variable. I usually pick up whatever looks good and so far haven't been disappointed in what I've bought, but some of the fruits and veggies on display are almost rotting. The staff are fairly helpful and friendly, and have helped me find items. I also like their dog-pet section, they sell American-made rawhide and chew bones at the best prices I've found anywhere. If you choose what you are buying with care, you can get quality groceries and other supplies at very fair prices. You do, however, have to brave the Walmart crowd and get in a lot of walking in the huge store. But as far as Walmarts go, it's very decent, and for locals probably has some of the best prices around. read more

Stop for a moment and think about what you'd expect from a Wal Mart in North Conway, NH. ........ This is exactly what you will get. Wal Mart is the place to go for people watching, as people come from all parts to stock up on their low price imported goods. It's also the only place where you can expect to buy certain things around here, so you will likely find yourself heading in, even though you never thought you were a Wal Mart fan. And then you get your regulars, who look forward to their weekly trip to the store. The selection is pretty good, including Stonyfield greek yogurt, and an in-store Dunkin Donuts. Just don't expect a late-night trip, because I think the store closes around 10 and the coffee part around 9. read more

Walmart never disapionts. They remain the worse shopping experience in the Valley. Tonight I broke my 8 month staying away because I value customer service and happiness. But I needed a product I knew the carried. So I sucked it up and went in. Well true to form I experienced what I always experience. The floor folks and the pharmacist didn't know the product, so therefore had no idea where to find it. I searched the on TV area. Truly a real example of the store itself. By register 16 is where it is. But amazingly half is on the side where you pay and the other half is on the after you pat. Try taking your carriage there. My item wasn't there. I found my item in the sports section. Now it's time to check out. A real disaster of an experience. I'm in lane 14 and thinking not to bad. The folks ahead of me had a big order and it was taking some time. About 3 minutes in the young lady shuts her light off and tells me she closing. Yep she closing. So I move to aisle 12 because aisle 16 was a long line. Two folks ahead of me but it was a slow transaction. About 5 minutes in the manager decided to open a register. The people behind me asked if I wanted to move. I declined. My past experience has been the managers manage because they cannot run the registers. I was correct and actually got through before them. Luckily I will never have to go to this unfriendly place again. read more

I wish I could give this zero stars! The manager with her teeth missing is an absolute nightmare of a person. Her and her associate with red hair who was working the night shift yesterday should be fired. I am 27 years old with a valid I.D and they "denied" me the sale of alcohol because my boyfriend who is 41 with visibly gray hair didn't have his I.D even tho he wasn't purchasing the alcohol, we did separate transactions. They really tried to say it's a NH law that everyone in the party has to have a valid I.D. Makes no sense, they made it up just to ruffle my feathers. Not my fault you're stuck at Walmart on a Saturday night..So what if I was with my 16 year old step daughter ? She would need an I.D so I could purchase alcohol? Not a NH law at all, I've researched and these two were clearly in a bad mood together trying to ruffle someone's feathers. Either way, my 41 year old bf got his I.D & they shut up real quick but was this whole debacle really necessary anyways? The worst associate & manager to date. I'm a local and shop here often . Today however 7/12/2019 I brought my visiting grandson in to get a few legos and camping jeans fit my husband (3) pair . The cashier Lucas was kind of rude from the start. He bags most of my items except for the three pairs of jeans. My 10 yr old grandson tried to bag them in a small bag unsuccessfully . So I asked the kid Lucas if he had a bag. He snapped at me and stated as he held a large bag up that it was the only one he had. I didn't say anything back except , good that's all I need. He was rude as he handed it to me like I committed a crime. After spending what I just I was was now aggravated and stuffed the receipt deep into my pocketbook . So the poor elderly women at the door asked for my receipt I snapped at her , I said this is all I need like I need to steal from Walmart . I did produce it and explained I just dealt with a rude cashier and I apologized for snapping at her. This boy needs to get fired because as I was trying to put my jeans into a bag I saw he was being rude to the person who was behind me. Generally the employees there are nice and helpful especially when you can't find something , it's my local Walmart not a tourist . It's clean and well stocked . It only takes one unhappy rude employee to ruin someone's mood. read more

DON'T BUY PAINT HERE!!! Someone I know recently told me of a terrible experience they recently had at this store. They went to get a can of paint and needed to match a can of paint they bought at Lowe's a long time ago. They said they didn't want to go back to Lowe's because the employee didn't put the lid on tight and the paint spilled all over their car and their clothes then Lowe's insurance company (Hartford) said they didn't report the incident for two weeks (which was a blatant lie) and closed the claim without paying. They said they didn't have time to pursue the matter in court at the time. They told Drew, the Assistant Manager about this, in the hopes that he would take due diligence in securing the lid. They said he had to be coached by an older employee while mixing the paint after making a mistake. Well, consequently the lid was hammered on but not properly, so once again this poor person encountered paint that spilled all over the car and their clothes. As a result they said, they had to try to clean up the mess carrying containers of hot water outside in the frigid cold weather until the wee hours of the morning. Livid that this was the second time that this occurred, they called Drew, the Assistant Manager and told him what happened, stating they had immediately taken pictures of the incident. They told me that they couldn't believe it when instead of apologizing, the Assistant Manager tried to shirk his responsibility and had the audacity to say to them, "I have a video of me putting the lid on and you going through the register. Maybe those pictures are from the Lowe's incident", literally adding insult to injury. Pretty nervy and ignorant! They said they then called Matt the Manager who said he would reprimand him and said the pictures would be time stamped/dated, which would easily disprove the Assistant Manager's rude allegations. Consequently, they said that Matt the manager agreed that the ignorant negligent assistant manager was at fault when he saw the pictures. A claim was put into Walmart's insurance company and your guessed it....they refused to pay for the claim. Needless to say, they told me that the matter is going to court since they said it would be a cold day in hell before they let another big corporation not take responsibility for damages sustained due to their negligent, improperly trained employees. This store has doubled in size. Its now a super Walmart and you can basically can find most anything your looking for. Every department has a large selection of items. Your really limited in this area for shopping except for the brand name outlets in which everything is over priced. Its huge so be prepared for a hike inside!!! read more

Customer service here is the worst! Not to mention they have about 15 check out lines yet they only have 3 or 4 EVER open. 2 stars for having self check out because that's the only way you will get out in a timely fashion, not just because the lines are long but the associates are SLOW! One guy in particular is the absolute slowest person I have ever seen, ZERO sense of urgency. This about sums up most of the associates here. I'm sure there are some that take pride in their work and I have run into a couple friendly and helpful people but the majority are not so this gives the impression the place is terrible. Store is clean and shelves usually stocked well but the customer service and especially speed in employees at check out needs much improvement. read more
