"Time to reorder" comes the almost daily email nag. Fantastic. Only when you reorder, the automatic reply is set to "contact your physician" even though there are multiple refillss left on the script. Yeah, most of the time they resolve the inconsistency over the phone but when I ask why this always happens, I usually get the wholly unsatisfactory and vacant, "I dunno, it must be the system." Not that their brick and mortar pharmacies are any better (home of the $20 box of Raisin Bran) but as the largest drug dispensary worldwide, with aspirations of growing larger by multiples of 10x, I shudder to think what their race to the bottom will look like in say, 2034. Most businesses get customers in their stores by sending them coupons so then the customer visits, not the other way around and CVS does not seem to understand this. The company is headquarted in Rhode Island, with their main corporate offices about halfway between my condo and this particular store. Their weekly coupons are a good marketing strategy to get people into their stores on a frequent basis...and now, their long long long long paper receipts are just one of the options at checkout.
