If I could put zero stars I would. I spent a lot of money on outdoor furniture through the BJ's app on April 29. One set was picked up at the Seekonk store, and the other was shipped. The table set arrived with the stone top smashed and detached from the base. After waiting about two weeks for a replacement, the second table was also defective. The stone top was not attached to the metal frame, apparently due to poor adhesive application. For over a month, customer service has repeatedly promised that someone would contact us to arrange pickup of the expensive set, but no one ever does. I even offered to keep the chairs and return only the table, but communication has gone silent. Instead, I received an email warning that I was running out of time to return the set. At this point, we gave up and repaired the table ourselves, only to discover it was missing hardware. Between replacement hardware and waterproof adhesive, we spent another $50 just to make a brand-new table usable. Two defective tables, terrible customer service, and still no call or email. Disgusting. I will never buy furniture from BJ's again and will likely limit my other spending there as well. Buyer beware. read more

We have been looking into getting a new TV for our condo in Providence and BJ"s has a good selection and prices on them. I love going into the store, checking out the image resolution and the prices, then get the model number and do research on the individual item to see which one is more reliable and better value based on the features. The savings that can be had at warehouse clubs can be substantial if a member does the right homework. read more

I usually go to the BJ's Wholesale Club in Seekonk, MA, but since the news of the Washington Bridge, I've been going to the BJ's Wholesale Club in Johnston, RI. The wholesale club is located on the top of Stone Hill Rd away from the other retail stores. Down the hill, you'll find Home Depot, Raising Cane's, and a hibachi restaurant. There is plenty of parking spots. The gas station is separate from the wholesale club. The aisles order and items in BJ's Wholesale Club in Johnston, RI is similar to other BJ's Wholesale Club. I recommend downloading the BJ's App. It is an easy way to clip coupons and find items in store. I even used the price checker function on the app a few times. It is very useful. read more

Constantly understaffed. The last trip I had, I waited 20 minutes at the deli while 1 person handled 8-10 people on their own. Where's the help? I went to check out and had to wait 4 people deep in line while most registers were closed. The final straw was after checkout, there was a 6-8 minute wait to LEAVE thanks to having only 1 person at the door checking receipts. The line went from the door all that way past almost all of the registers. BJ's has a staffing problem, consistently refusing to properly staff their store, evidenced by every visit I've had there. The BJs employees I dealt with, especially the person at the door, were miserable and even commented to me that they need help to deal with the crowds but BJs has refused her help. read more

I'm happy there are still some establishments that are still open where you can pick up your essentials. These photos were taken a couple weeks into the beginning of the pandemic, so many of the shelves were bare. This club is close by and I took advantage of the free 3 month membership, but it's only my daughter and I so I really don't buy anything in bulk sizes. They do have some good offerings that I don't find elsewhere which I enjoy. I hope we get back to some type of normalcy soon! read more

What they have BJ's is a typical wholesale type of place similar to Sam's and Costco. Huge, sort of chaotic and usually crowded. They do have cheaper prices on many bulk items like huge containers of cat litter, paper goods, nuts and frozen bags of frozen veggies but on other non food items the prices really don't seem any better than places like Target. Of course the big problem with a store like this is that you have to buy relatively large quantities and that the selection isn't all that good. You frequently can't quite find the particular kind of soup, rice or yogurt you actually want and have to compromise a bit. The store does take coupons and is fairly clean and friendly for this type of place but it can get ridiculously crowded at times. We tend to go on days and times when we know it won't be too bad. A useful store to save a few bucks on certain things but you will still probably have to go to another grocery type store. You can save money but only on stuff they have which isn't always the stuff you really want. read more

Not much to review her, it's a market club selling items in bulk that most people don't need. I guess it's great if you have a large family. Pretty great BJ's I always visit when I'm in Rhode Island. I'm always a fan of BJ's with deli's inside them, but be prepared to wait. There's always a line at the deli, with everyone typically ordering 5-6 different types of cold cuts, with unreasonable directions for the cutters as to how thinly and layered they want their cheeses. The checkout line is usually a disaster usually because the self-checkout loves to act up just as the main cashier starts walking away. The tire store all the way on the right side of the store (you have to go outside to get to it) is really great, and took me in without an appointment and stuck two tires on my car within 30 minutes. read more

A membership based warehouse store. If not a member you can shop here you just pay a higher price, I believe 10% more. Just a note concerning another review. RI has purpose only licensed alcohol, beer and wine laws for off site consumption. You need a purpose only class A license to conduct the sale of alcohol, beer and wine for off site consumption. They do not offer multipurpose licenses. BJs in RI can not legally sell alcohol, beer and wine for off site consumption. It would be nice to see some modernizations to these laws but until then, Liquor, or everything else. Not both. This location I find always clean, and well stocked. In my opinion you really need to know your prices to shop in the warehouse stores. Not everything is a deal. I find plenty of deals here which would cost me much more at other retailers. Especially in meats, and deli. Deals can also be found in dairy, frozen and dry goods. The only department I don't think is of value is produce. Not because of pricing but quality. The entrance is off Atwood Avenue at the traffic light across from McDonald's, Follow to top of hill. Plenty of parking. Eyeglass, snack bar, tire and propane sales at this location. There is a BJs gas station not to far away on Hartford Avenue. read more

I gave in and joined the BJs club...mainly because I received what seemed like the thousandth coupon for a membership and this one was actually pretty good - $25 for an entire year (50% off their basic membership). Reason number two is we now have a baby and I was curious to see about the diaper and formula situation in bulk as opposed to trying to get them on sale at the regular spots. Of course they tried to upsell me on getting the pricier membership but I wanted to get a feel for this a lot first. I looked like a drowned rat on that rainy day they decided to capture my mugshot on a BJs card. The process was fairly easy and off I eagerly went with the carriage and coupons. First off, it's a very Walmarty feel here. Many of the packaged food products were also from a company I presume is the BJs brand...and they don't really have too many other brands beyond that with some of their products. Things like coconut waters, aluminum foil, etc. seemed to be a good bang for your buck. Also, I did my best to comb through and see what organic and more natural options there were for edibles. Produce was a bit of a failure. I couldn't buy lemons as they were all pretty much either green or rotten. One of my bell peppers turned out to be moldy inside when I cut into it two days after purchases. My other produce was lackluster - not to mention, the lettuce was the only organic thing I could find. I had a bit better luck with proteins. I found grass fed beef - 3 packages 16 oz each all connected and it was 17.99, not bad when one 16 oz package at stop n shop is $6.99-$8.99. I also find wild salmon which is huge. I got things like pork butt (the butchers can cut down the larger meats into smaller parts) and flank steak. I like the snack situation though. They have healthy trail mixes and nuts, I bought a box of 100 calorie almond packs which will probably last me a while. What's truly laughable is that I did not get a chance to check the formula and diaper prices which are a prime reason for my joining in the first place. Long and short, I can see myself making monthly visits here to stop up on certain things. I'd like to stick to produce shopping elsewhere. read more

Everything us usually very good here but... for a grocery store chain you have to PAY to be a member of...why are your mart carts slow, loud or irritating to use??? Walmart has faster, quieter carts. This review is actually about a BJ's.com experience. I recently bought a TV online and questioned the amount of sales tax I was charged. They charged me sales tax on the full amount, not the sale amount. Since that time, I have made 5 separate phone calls to their customer service department, only to be kept on hold for ridiculous amounts of time, hung up on or promised a supervisor will call me back and nothing happens. I visited the Coventry store only to be told they can not help since it is an online purchase. This issue stopped being about the actual tax about 3 phone calls ago and now is about the horrible level of service and lack of respect BJ's shows for their customers. read more

Buying in bulk from here is tricky.you really have to price compare between here and the other stores to see if you are getting a deal.ive noticed some things are cheaper while some things are not. Went into this BJs location for the first time today. Haven't been to a BJs for a while and needed to get a large quantity of things for a party tonight so i figured why not hit up BJs. Got myself a new membership for $25 (50% off normal price) and hit the aisles. While majority of what i was looking for was at a really good price (5 pounds of meatballs for $14; 3 pounds of mixed peppers and onions for $7; big bag of salad for $3; 3 of the x-large jars of pasta sauce for $7) some of the other things i saw were just of relatively average price. I'm not overly complaining just taking notice of things. Of course, when I definitely need to get cat food and cat litter, as well as paper towels and toilet paper, I know to hit up BJs since it's usually more product for your dollar, but i don't need those yet. Overall, the service members I interacred eight were also really nice and gave me no issue with random questions. I'll definitely be back. read more

I've been a loyal BJ's customer for years and now seriously reconsidering if I will continue to remain one. This BJ's location is your standard store--nothing special. It has everything you would expect from a BJ's. However, the Seekonk location sells alcohol, but this one does not. In addition, although it is easy to get to off of Route 6, you have to go up a mile on Stonehill Drive up a huge hill to get to the BJ's. I would not want to be trekking to this BJ's location in the snow or in slippery conditions! read more

I go there every now and then for last minute groceries. Things can get a bit pricey, and if you don't want to buy things in bulk I wouldn't recommend. They do have some things that aren't in bulk but they're still awfully expensive. The only reason I go is if I run out of something and don't have time to go to target, which is farther from my house. There are always long lines, especially at express which ends up taking longer than normal registers. You need a membership to pay decent prices. There's only a few polite workers while the others are miserable. Wouldn't recommend if you don't want to buy things in bulk and have to wait and deal with rude employees. read more

What can I say about BJs. It's a great place to get a deal. Of coarse, you prepay for that deal by buying a membership. Doesn't that make one feel special. I've been buying in bulk for my family for over 10 years here and I have always been satisfied with the prices. selection is pretty good considering the amount of products available in the marketplace. However I must say, that the lack of employees there to help you find something is nonexistent. Also, in recent years they obviously have cut the budget and taken out employee run registers and put in do it yourself registers. Many people such as myself do not like scanning their own products. I pay for a membership for service. There are never enough manned registers open. Ever. This is a big problem for many as they don't feel like waiting 20 minutes to get checked out. Fix this BJS. Your screwing your customers over by not giving better service. You better hope a SAMs club doesn't move into the vicinity because I'm sure people like me will consider switching. Lastly, I've heard of a man who is a DM of BJs, who happens to be very short, who likes to scold employees on the floor in front of customers. This is very bad!! A companies higher up employees should never treat lower employees like garbage in front of people. This creates a very bad perception for the customers. Let's work on this things BJS. Honestly all the products here are quality the reason I'm giving them one star is because today I attempted to call the location over 10 times specifically the deli department. I was placed on hold for over 45 minutes multiple times, and was even hung up on. I then attempted to call corporate so they could possibly transfer me over to the store location but they also had no luck getting anyone in the Johnston store to answer. Luckily after three hours of trying I called in and decided to try a different department someone in the baked goods department answered and attempted to transfer my call to the produce department, once again my phone was on hold for over a half an hour. I was calling simply for a price check I had to drive from my house in Providence all the way to the Johnson location just to find out how much they sell an item for at this location. If someone in the store could have simply picked up the phone my answer would have been given in five minutes but instead I wasted my morning driving to the location for a price check. Lastly I would like to reiterate that I also requested to speak with the general manager at this location and no one would give me his information. As a loyal customer of BJ's for over 10 years I am considering not renewing my membership. I'm sure BJ's is not worried about losing one customer but the customer service at this location is absolutely deplorable and needs to be addressed. read more
