CONS: Often out of stock on some staple items. No rhyme or reason to the layout. Lines are always long so plan your time. Remember your own bags because your bagging yourself. PROS: Always clean. Great consistent prices. Friendly associates. They carry inexpensive uncommon items so it's fun and easy to try something new. They carry decent "store brand" quality items. All in all it's worth the trip, if you aren't looking for name brands and have a little time to shop and bag yourself. read more

We stopped here to get some groceries after spending some time in the area. The selection of items inside the store was good, similar to other Aldis....but what really was disappointing was the long line to pay...Only one cashier and the line was all the way down the aisle length of the store.... The cashier was very pleasant and she did not complain about being alone, but as a customer, I think the management of this store needs to do better about having a backup cashier when needed..... read more

Line especially after 4pm averages 15 min wait as there is usually only one person scanning the items and no self checkout. Not many options, often missing ingredients I need so end up needing to go to a separate grocery store anyway. Upside is it's very affordable. read more

I love this store. They have almost everything I need. The prices are always low, they have a great variety of organic and all natural no dye no gross chemical foods which you can see clearly in the label. Some items like the pet foods I don't get here, but the meats (which people are always weary about) have always been on par. The fruits and veggies can be hit or miss though. Some items are not kept on ice like in other stores so they go bad quicker than you would expect, but if you inspect your products you shouldn't have a problem. I absolutely love their Non- food item selections. Every week they have things you need to buy like laundry hampers, boots, robes, or kids forts, around holidays you will find anything you need like at Christmas they'll have lights and gift paper, around school time they will carry school work books and stationary items. I'm eagerly awaiting the gardening items that will soon stock the shelves. And you can not beat their prices when they carry real plants and herbs. And it's a quick in and out. And they have Apple Pay, which kind of deals the deal for me. read more

So I just jumped on this bandwagon and am not planning on getting off anytime soon. I tend to be one of those people that isn't necessarily dedicated to a specific store but knows what to get/not to get from certain ones. I love Whole Foods but really just their meats and produce and it's not really near my home therefore I have to go after work, plus it's very pricey! I spend $100 (if I'm lucky) and leave with one bag. I love Trader Joe's as well, also not convenient and the only time I can really go is on a weekend and it's bedlam in there. Dave's is my next go to as I have two very close to home and Stop & Shop as expanded their selection of better choices The only issue with all of these places is that items aren't always on sale and It can get expensive. This is not at all the case at Aldi's. The prices are significantly lower than the competitors and the quality of the products are great as well! They don't have a ton of options like your huge supermarket but I like to focus on quality not quantity. The experience is a little quirky, you have to bring your own bags and bring a quarter as that's how you get a cart and you get the quarter back once you return the cart. read more

Aldi's is finally here, and I am glad. Stopped in with a friend to check out their new gluten free line, and was pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness compared to the Providence (Smith Street) location. Some things were hard to find/weren't labeled, but Aldi's is fairly cheap so I knew I wouldn't be spending too much anyways. The only thing that stinks here is that the cashier really does try to push you out, even if there's no line. Give me a second to bag my less than 10 items instead of walking over to the counter! Jeeze. Remember quarters for the carriages, and your bags, along with a debit card or cash. Credit and checks not accepted. If you forget--bags are fairly cheap (less than a dollar apiece.) read more

Aldi is new to the Northern Rhode Island area, but will hopefully be here a long time. This grocery store might look little on the outside, but packs a big punch inside. The savings are great and the selection is not too shabby. They have a lot if their own, private label products, that are so close to the name brands, my kids even like them. I like that they have a lot if products that are MSG and nitrate free, as half the family can't eat those additives. This isn't a "super" store, so you'll probably need to supplement elsewhere, but it's a great stock-up the pantry, milk and eggs grocery. Bring a quarter to use a carriage, don't worry, you get it back. Bring your own bags too, unless you want to buy some, you'll be bagging your own groceries (which I prefer). Finally, they only take cash, debit or EBT. No checks or credit cards here. It's how they keep the prices low! read more

The other half is made for the "organic" "antibiotic free" "diet" people that like paying $10 dollar on a can of bird feed. Shop smart and you will save a ton of money. I want to Thank Tracy from ALDIs for making my first shopping experience such a pleasure NOT. I asked her a question and was barked at like a rabid dog. Then when checking out I had all of my things about 8 total count neat in a small box and here she comes to take over checking out she takes everything out of the box and throws my box in the cart then put all of my groceries in the cart. I repacked my little box and went home. I will never go back to this store again. It was such a pleasure. read more

Ever since they opened in North Smithfield, I have done all of my grocery shopping there. They have great prices, great produce and goods, and very nice staff. I have filled my carriage under $100, which is nearly impossible at other grocery retailers (including Walmart). The two locations I have visited are kept very clean and organized. Always bring a quarter for your carriage. If you don't have one, usually the employees will give you a carriage if it isn't so busy. I do wish they would open a deli counter for a bigger selection of deli meat. No complaints about ALDI. :) read more

Since moving to the area, this has been my new spot for all my grocery needs. Love the variety of items available. I would recommend this place to anyone who is gluten free. I also find the prices very resonable. Also, I love the random everyday items they sell. Last week I got a Mirror that hangs on my door and a few days later I saw pretty much the same mirror for alittle more job lot. Made me happy to see I saved more by choosing Aldi's! read more

Organic products are very cheap. quality meats and 50/50 produce. Eggs are 50 cents. The store also carries seasonal items and small household items at extreme cheap prices. read more

I still do not know what to think of Aldi. It is a grocery store but it is always selling the most completely random things, week to week. Each time I have been here I have been impressed with the prices of everything. They are a great place to go for the staples because I have not found any places that are cheaper than Aldis. Some of their specialty things are also surprisingly good, like their frozen Ahi Tuna steak and it was only $6 for 3 filets. The main drawback is their selection, if you are looking for a specific item they may not have it because they only stock certain things at certain times. All in all we will definitely continue to shop here. Give it a shot, you might be pleasantly surprised. read more
