I rarely go to Walmarts, but this one was convenient to my location while traveling out of town. I was warned it's not in the best area, but I felt safe during the day. Parking was not bad during a weekday and there was minor debris but not terrible. It's a Walmart so lots of parking. No greeting walking in but there was an employee at the door. That's disappointing. I needed to get around a half dozen items from the grocery side and was in a hurry. The store seemed clean enough. I found the grocery area organized and well stocked. To me that earns 3 star for just that. The service was the bonus when I did ask a clerk a question. I avoided the self checkout which I despise and had a cashier that was both efficient and friendly enough. I would return, but do recommend looking at other reviews. YIKES! A 3 seems to fit my visit perfectly. read more

There's nothing I'm going to say that hasn't been said before, but the employees are always on their phones, if you need help at a counter, God forbid they need keys to get something. You could find Sasquatch with a set of keys quicker than an employee of this store with keys. If you end up in an aisle with a group of employees stocking the shelves, it's like navigating a detention room at a high school that lets the kids in trouble watch themselves. Chaos, cussing, standing around talking, etc. Just a mess. Do better. read more

Asome it has a subway and it is in a good area. The customer service is amazing. Also, this Walmart is huge, but it is very packed on weekends and Fridays. The only bad thing is they shut down their hair place. This is one of the best Walmart's I have ever been to in my whole life. Plus there like a thousand records of Taylor Swift. Finally, this Walmart had amazing prices, like literally amazing. I definitely recommend this Walmart if you live in the indianapolis area. read more

The store has lots of good bargains, but it's not good in the management part. Morgan was the only cash register open, she was doing the work of 10 people because of all the self checkouts. We do not like the self checkouts, we feel like people are losing jobs by doing automation. But I have to say the bathrooms were nice and clean, and plenty of paper products. read more

Now they are checking receipts at the door. Not just some people but everyone. Walmart employee at the door says it's company policy. I tell person at door to get manager. They walked away when I started getting angry. I was at the same store two days ago and no one checking receipts. This store and others are going downhill. Yeah probably due to the virus and having less employees. I was already upset as this Walmart is too warm inside. Granted today it's quite hot outside too but I'm a bigger guy anyway so I'm particularly sensitive to hot (to me) environments. Finally I yelled out I wasn't going to show my receipt. This makes me feel I'm being treated like a criminal. So I doubt I'll go to this store again. read more

If I could give this a zero rating I would. This store is an absolute joke. Never stocked, always dirty, people screaming out over customers that they need a break. The "stockers" are in the isles, with those "pulling groceries" arguing and fighting. We have found and turned in multiple box cutters just left in the store by workers opening boxes. It took 5 people to try and fix a gift card error, only to have them offer to give us cash (after saying they couldn't do that! Of course they did.) Their produce is always wet and over saturated.. And a lot of times we have to look elsewhere for items because this store either just doesnt carry it...or its all messed up and dirty. Ota just sad. read more

Every time I do the grocery pick up it takes an extremely long time for my order to be drought out, I could have went in and went grocery shopping. Customer service is hit or miss here as with most Walmarts. I did have a pleasant experience when a sales associate happened upon me while I was searching through clearance items. Of course, the item I wanted was missing a price tag and was the one and only. The associate was very friendly & helpful explaining what the cashier needed, provided the tag and indeed it was a clearance item. Seasonal items seem to move quickly from one location to another as stock diminishes or next seasonal item arrives. The standard, everyday items are typically well stocked and remain in the same location. This location is better about items being thrown everywhere or on the floor. Landscaping, nursery plants, and potted plants don't move as fast here as other Walmarts. I'm not sure why but they don't. Many times they still have an abundance of plants still on the racks and another delivery is arriving. This was very much the case this year and the consumer benefited. I just left customer service and the sales associate who processed my return was very thoughtful, polite and efficient. There were 11 people in line but she was the only person behind the counter. She was working calmly and quickly and maintained a positive attitude. Not always the case at other times or stores. Walmart earns their reputations with the employee attitudes, strange things occurring in the stores, the hurricane isles and long lines but I try to always be polite even when they aren't. read more

Don't use curbside pick-up. I tried today and ordered over 125.00 worth of groceries. They showed my order was picked up about the same time I checked in. I asked for a manager, and after 20 minutes of sitting, I finally had to go into the store to be able to talk to the store manager. All I was allowed to talk to was loss prevention, Randall. Brooke, the 'coach' finally came up to talk to me after about 30 minutes. Come to find out they gave all of my groceries to someone else. She then tells me I won't be getting my groceries today, but as a courtesy to me, they will refund the groceries. I thought it was a must that they would refund groceries I actually never received. But I guess if you don't get your groceries, you still have to pay for them. All in all, I was there for about an hour and 20 minutes and only walked away with empty hands. read more

They offer grocery pick up which should be faster and more convenient than doing your own shopping. I was supposed to pick up between 5 and 6pm. I finally received a text at 6:15, saying my groceries were ready. I sat for over an hour in the pick up location, no one would answer the phone. The young lady asked me twice for my name. I sat and watch people who parked after me get their groceries. When she came and asked my name for the 3rd time, I mentioned other people had gotten their order before me. She said I would be next. Well I sat for another 15 minutes while 2 other people received their order before me. Do not offer a service you cannot provide proper customer service too. read more

This is the worst Walmart I have ever been to. They treat their employees horribly, it's rare to get a employee to answer the phone with a good attitude especially that lady in HR or whatever they call it there. There are always people parked in the fire lanes, there is a Homeless community in the west corner of the parking lot, even though they have signs up for no overnight parking for trucks and trailers every night it's like Plainfield truck stop, which means the truck generators are running all night and I feel horrible for the people trying to sleep in the community adjacent to it. I have called several times and complained because of the environment it creates but the managers I talk to just laugh and say there's nothing they can do. If you need to go to a Walmart I wouldn't choose this one. read more

I went to Walmart for a variety of items i got home and realized I didn't have my stuff because I was using one cart for 2 orders and when I got the first order done, my friends, he paid and I started my order this meant we had a second cart with his purchases to our side while I was taking care of my transaction. It took me 30 minutes to get home and realize I didn't have my purchases because I was trying to keep an employee from putting my friends stuff back That had already been paid for. The first thing I did was call the store. They put me on hold and when it rang through again the girl got on the phone and had answered the phone both times with a simple hello and not that it was even Walmart. She informed me that a man had already put my purchased items back on the shelf. I called within 30 minutes of my purchases. I asked about a refund after she had said the items were replaced in inventory and she told me to call the 1800 number and that got me to a gentleman who spoke very bad English and informed me that I'd have to return to the store to get a refund. Well now they can take it up with my bank. I paid with my debit card that did require a pin but this didn't matter to Walmart so now they can make another $170 on the items I already purchased. Where do i begin with the rudeness here? i thought i had seen it at the Avon store.. NOPE! I was in there this evening and I made the mistake of interrupting the social break the young "lady" was having at the service desk with her co worker who couldn't be bothered to move,he was too busy texting away to move for customers.... When I did get help her attitude was horrible, she talked to me like I was criminal suspect getting interrogated for not having a receipt. And couldn't be bothered to speak with any type of customer service ability. "you gotta give me your license" "why u need to return it" "here" (hands me card and thats it) .. Whatever hapened to customer service???? Kids these days have no clue what its like to have to work and actually treat a customer properly. Yep, not a fan of Wal Mart.....just not sure I ever will be. But, there are just some things you can't get at Target and don't want to spend the time or the money driving to Lowes for. That's where the begrudgingly made trip to Wal Mart comes in. I try and only do it every couple years. The Plainfield store honestly is a bit better than some of the others I've been to. Not quite as packed and a little bit neater (but not by much). That said, it's the same old Wal Mart experience that people complain about. Crowded aisles, an interesting clientele, confusing signage and generally unpleasant staff. This particular trip was to have a duplicate house key made. The only reason this store earned a second star was that the associate working the automotive department broke from the traditional Wal Mart employee model and was very friendly and helpful. She got everything taken care of quickly and courteously. Thank you! While not as bad as some other stores, I certainly hope not to be back any time soon. read more

I mean what did I expect coming to a Walmart... this one was particularly bad. I tried to get my tires changed and the guys working didn't have any knowledge on what they were doing. I asked an employee if he could tell me what tires I needed and he looked at my car for a very long time then proceeded to say "I... I don't know... This morning, around 9:30, I bought over 150.00 worth of groceries. It took over 20 minutes to go through the cashier, Dorothy because she was slower than slow. I had ice cream, the least she could have done was to speed up the process so my ice cream didn't melt. On my out the door, Sharon, stopped me and would not let me continue on my way until she inspected my cart because I had an unbagged item. Since when did this policy take effect? I saw 2 different carts walk by her with unbagged items and she did not stop them. Since I was stopped and the other shoppers were not stopped, I feel I was unfairly profiled and singled out. Sharon then formed an illegally searched. Since at the point I bought the items, they no longer belonged to Wal-mart they belonged to me and she had no right to touch or search me without a search warrant. read more

I am not a Walmart fan.I have to use the Walmart in plainfield indiana pharmacy and twice they have short changed me on my meds. After arguing with them it is finally corrected. Horrible experience last night. Register 10. Young girl didn't even know the 1st thing about scanning large items or even where to find the bar code to scan? Stood in line for 25 min. after standing in line for an hour before which was defiantly understable beings the situation. Gave her my discount card and she assured me twice discount was applied. Sure wasn't so had to go to customer service desk for another hour voiding everything in cart and re ringing. Ughhh a complete disaster. Manager was also extremely rude during this. If I could leave negative stars I would. came in for a new tire since mine had a nail in it. was quoted 2 hours tops . about 4 hours later I'm out the door and get home to find they did the wrong tire. I know I should have guessed that they would probably screw something up so I should have checked but at that point I was about to snap anyway. I will never return to Walmart for automotive needs. I'm warning you if you value your time and want anything that resembles quality service pay whatever extra it costs to take it somewhere else.
