I was staying over in Brownsburg Indiana recently and I didn't know that there was a Fresh Thyme store nearby. So I decided to check this place out while I was in the area to see what this place offered. I enjoyed what the store offered since it featured nearly and everything practical that I've come to find at their stores normally. It's a much quieter store too since it doesn't seem like a lot of people shop here. Prices here though are a little bit more steep though whatever they run promotions is actually at a great price. Parking lot is big and ample so it shouldn't be hard finding a spot. Great selection of hot soups! Highly recommend shopping here! read more

I am in a recovery from hip surgery. So I was using their riding cart today. When I went to check out, I had bought three bottles of juice and two packages of their cookies that are at the checkout. The lady put the cookies in the same bag as the three bottles of juice. I didn't want those cookies to get crushed. I had just paid five dollars for them. So I asked her if she would please put them in a separate bag. She immediately had an attitude and pointed to the bags at the end of the counter if I wanted to separate them out. Let's just say this should be marketed as the most unfriendliest place in town. I was on a trip from out of town and needed a few things for our air bnb. I went through the cashier that they had open. The clerk ringing me up made no eye contact with me and did not acknowledge me at all the entire checkout. Ever!!!! She had ear buds in her ears and no name tag. I couldn't even get her attention to ask a question. Her name is Tiana, and the only reason I know that is bc it said so on the receipt. No thank you, and still no eye contact. It was like I didnt even exist. When I took my bag and was about to leave I remembered I needed a thank you card so a grabbed one by the register and went to go back in the line. Tiana and another manager were in some heavy gossip and complaining about other coworkers. I just took my card and went through the self check out. This is probably the worst customer service I have ever had in a store ever!! A couple days before that I was buying some organic yellow squash and all of them were soft on goupy with guts hanging out. I went to ask the produce clerk if he could help me find a good one and he said "oh ya most of these aren't good." Then he handed me one that wasn't oozing, but was really soft. I said are these supposed to be soft like this? He said yes they are. He couldn't be bothered to tell me the truth. When I got to the register to ring up my groceries and self check out I noticed one of the sides of the squash was oozing. My husband is a produce manager on the West Coast and this is unacceptable. I'm so disappointed in this place. I wanted to like this place so much because it's actually really cute and I love supporting local farms and businesses. My absolute favorite thing about Fresh Thyme Market is it's an easy run and get what you need and get back out to your car. My second favorite thing about FTM is the quality and freshness of products. Their fruits are always reasonably priced. Check out the sale ad for meat discounts. Another good way to get the weekly ad is to download their app. Don't forget, to save the digital coupons. Something most folks probably don't think about is it's a great place to run in and get fresh flowers. They are right by the front door so it's an easy run in and grab and get back out to your car item. read more

I always find most of what I need here if I don't want to drive out to Trader Joe's. Staff are always friendly and helpful and the store is always clean. They have a great selection of veg and meats and I love that the sushi is made daily in store. In the past, they have had discounted sushi on Tuesdays but I don't know if they're still doing that. Either way, the sushi is good. They also carry CBD oil but the last one I got was not one I would but again. I wanted a plain one but they only had flavored ones so figured I'd give it a try and it was not good for me. read more

Wow I can't believe I haven't been in the store before. I needed to track down ingredients to make a charcuterie board for a Yelp event and saw online they had the fig jam which my regular store doesn't carry. I was very impressed by the selection. Note I was only getting meats, cheeses, crackers on this trip. They had everything I needed and then some. Great wine selection, tons of cheeses, great crackers. The store was well stocked and very inviting. Staff was great and checkout easy and quick. I will definitely be back again when I have more time. The place was packed so I only picked up a few items and I will go back later to shop. Avocados were two for a dollar. Green beans $.99 a pound also new potatoes 3 pounds for a dollar. LOVE having Fresh Thyme west-side Avon location. The store provides great options for healthy living! The Olive Bar is fabulous, and you can taste one before you buy. Produce is always bountiful. I like the bulk foods section as well. You can grind your own coffee. You can make your own nut butters too. So fun! Really appreciate the huge selection of vitamins, protein powders, supplements, etc. So much to choose from here. The strength of Fresh Thyme in my view is the deli, which has a strong selection of meats as well as excellent offerings of sandwiches and pizzas to eat on a fast food basis. I also really appreciate the bulk food section, which really has a lot of options. I know others like their frozen food and wines but I tend not to purchase much from them as I find them not that compelling price wise. This location is very organized, clean, and well stocked. I work in retail and where I work we also like most stores are working hard on keeping shelves stocked and store as clean as possible. Fresh Thyme also seemed clean. Should be 4 1/2 stars. Since I work in Avon, this Fresh Thyme has become a routine grocery stop for me on my commute back downtown. The meat & seafood selection can't be beat, and I appreciate the more ethical options like pasture raised chicken sausage and wild caught fish. This store is also a must-stop if you're on any sort of restricted diet (gluten-free, dairy-free, vegan, etc.) as they have a good selection of specialty items and even small sections of the store that pertain to certain diets. It's apparent that Fresh Thyme has high standards for the brands/items they carry, which are more health-conscious than standard grocery stores. The organic produce selection is also great. One star withheld due to pricing, which can be high. I tend to buy my pantry staples (canned beans, grains, etc.) cheaper elsewhere but continue to shop Fresh Thyme for animal products, specialty items, and organic produce. read more

Fresh Thyme is a recent store on the West Side of Indy, (Technically speaking it is NOT in Avon...it's actually off the county line by about 200 feet...but still close enough for government work...), and has brought a new and wide variety of items to the West Side. They are trying to bring better choices to people whose idea of Pasta is "Macaroni and Cheese", and believe that all cheese comes in a sixteen slice pack individually wrapped. That being said however. There are two things that you need to know quite quickly. 1: The name..."Fresh Thyme Farmers Market"...This is DEFINITELY NOT A FARMERS MARKET, unless your 'farmer" is named "Reynaud" and he raises designer vegetables and imports his sauces from Europe. Yes this place is more of the Grocery Store Variant of Pier 1 Imports. 2: It is NOT "Farmers Market Cost Friendly". True you won't find Amy Whittledittler and her "homemade apple butter in a jar" here or her Uncle Franks "Fresh Corn Ears and Turnips by the Bushel", and if you did, you'd pay more than what Amy or Uncle Frank was asking for it. So be prepared, as it can get pricey. The good things...you want a wide variety of cheeses and breads? This is the place. You want HP Brown Sauce? Yeah baby! This is the only place on the West Side that has it. You want a guy playing acoustic guitar and singing songs in the store with help from a foot pedal? Yeah they got that here...at least they had it on opening day.... For me the biggest issue is where it is though...Located off of Rockville Road next to LA Fitness, and the intersection of Rockville and Raceway where people get to call their insurance agent about their policy and "what is covered" numerous times a week because they believe the red light on the stop light is just a suggestion for them.... You have to look for this store to see it. Always a fresh time coming here! So glad we were finally able to get one of these on the west side. First off, the primary reason this store is set apart from others are the many healthy options they sell; other grocery stores in the area don't have some of the food items that Fresh Thyme carries. Second, I love buying in bulk. They have so many bulk options as far as nuts, granola, candies, they even have a machine where you can make your own peanut butter and put it in a container yourself! Lastly, they have so many options if you're coming here on your lunch break. They have a salad bar, pizzas, bagels, soups, sushi, the list goes on. Great salad bar with addictive falafel. You can order freshly made sandwiches, sushi and pizza to go. Good assortment of organic produce at reasonable prices. Lots of vegan/plant based foods available. Super selection of nutritional supplements and cruelty free skin care. Their sales are really good too. Nice near Avon location to add to the growing Indianapolis area Fresh Thyme chain. The store is nice and new with a bright open feel to it. On my first visit, the store was still in its Grand Opening week, and it was filled with eager beaver shoppers! The staff is still employees from other locations here to help with the opening, and they were keeping the place running like a well-oiled machine. Even with all of the shoppers, the store was very well stocked and organized. With Fresh Thyme in general, I really like the produce section, and I think the prices for the produce are great. Being an ice cream addict, I really like the brands of ice cream they carry, and usually at least one brand is on sale any given week. I have one criticism so far of Fresh Thyme, but it applies to all, so I'm not marking off a store for the location. I'm simply voicing it. The ads for the different locations are very similar, but they do have different products on sale at one location but not another, and the other locations are not honoring those sale items. I asked about it, and the sales are driven by area or region, so they agree that there may be different products. I understand that if the regions are different cities or states, but I don't agree with it when we have like 4 or more stores all in the Indianapolis area. It's bothersome, to be pigeon holed into going to a specific location because they have a sale item that another location won't honor, especially in the age when some stores are honoring their competitor's sale ads. My car is in the shop so decided to take advantage of the new grocery delivery service that is offered by fresh thyme via amazon prime now service. The order was easy to place, though, multiple items ordered turned out to not be in stock and had to be substituted. Received the order a couple of hours later only to find that I had been delivered a spoiled and rancid smelling whole chicken. I called the store and they transferred me to amazon 'shoppers' who told me they couldn't help and gave me an 800 number to call. They also said they couldn't help and transferred me again. What I want simply is for them to pick up the bad chicken that's smelling up my house and replace it with a non bad one but they refuse to do anything but refund the money. Finally after nearly an hour on the phone, amazon agreed that they could actually pick it up after all to dispose of it. Way to much effort and frustration to be left with nothing to cook now for dinner. If they are going to offer fresh food delivery, they need to be prepared for the occasional issue like this that occurs without the customer having to jump through hoops. I went to Fresh Thyme to grab a few items and was really impressed. The store wasn't very busy at all so it was a quick in and out. I went around 1030 on a Sunday morning. The store is extremely well kept and the staff is super friendly. I didn't really get a chance to look through everything but they had an awesome coffee selection and a place to make your own peanut butter. They also sold single portions of dinners which I thought was nice. I grabbed a lasagna for tonight which is a lot better than the pizza I would have ordered. I have hear many great things about this place so I thought I would give it a try. I really just went for fruit but ended up getting so much more. When I first walked in I was amazed! The layout was very easy to follow. They had a huge selection of fruits and veggies right up front. The prices were way lower than I expected. They had a huge selection of breads, meats, cheeses and so much more. There were many prepackaged items but even those were fresh and not just your typical "fast" items. My husband and I go to this Fresh Thyme about four times a week. We purchase our fresh produce there because it is the best quality for great prices. We recently became members of their reward program which is quite worth it for frequent shoppers. They offer an array of deals that knock off a few bucks when checking out. Their produce is always stocked, fresh, and clean. It's always great quality and the best we've ever found. We also purchase all of our dairy items here because they're mostly all organic, safe, and the best quality brands. As we've purchased almost all of our groceries here, we've also begun to buy our shower products here. We were apprehensive at first because of prices but, after testing some out we realized it is completely worth it because they are top notch quality made products which are mostly all natural and don't contain as many chemicals as the traditional shampoo or face wash. We'd been to other locations before but, this has been the best one so far. The staff members are always friendly, hardworking and, very personable with us since we are so frequent.
