Due to unfortunate circumstances, I have been displaced from my home and am now in a motel temporarily. So far, my experiences with my deliveries have been pretty good. I haven't needed substitutions for my dog food. (They were consistently out of stock at my previous location). So, considering my situation, It was a nice change. On a different note, my in-store experiences were less enjoyable. I tried to buy an inexpensive phone because mine was stolen. I still can't get it activated and it was supposed to be activated at the register. Also, it was my second time around with the same phone, because the first time was incomplete. Although I entered the store with more than 50% battery power, I soon discovered that it was draining quickly because of a malware problem. However, during checkout I was transferred from the phone counter to the front of the store because they were about to close. So, at 4% bp I had to waste the majority of what was left traveling to the front of the store. But once I reached the register, I was advised to turn off the phone while I was being rung up a second time. When I turned it on again, I was unable to get to the wallet on my phone in time to make the purchase and they kicked me out instead of helping me. So, in my opinion, they were part of the problem rather than the solution and didn't meet their responsibility to make it right. I believe It would have been better if the first guy had been more helpful and less concerned about his own issues with time management or whatever. In conclusion, I don't, like some of the employees who are here. But I do like that I am able to feed my doggy. To me that's the highest priority. Pettiness is better left to the less competent crowd. read more

My mom always does orders from here and we've never had problems but today we ordered and it didn't show up at our door my mom texted me it was coming we waited for 30 mins and it still hadn't arrived at our house my mom said it should've arrived by now so we checked around the neighborhood for like 20 mins max we went home and waited again but my grandma remembered there's another neighborhood connected to ours so we drove there and our order was sitting at our neighbors house who is out of town them one of our other neighbors came out and told us it was sitting for and hour outside I'm not blaming Walmart for this I'm blaming the stupid delivery driver they hired bc they had full GPS directions to my house read more

Quite possibly the worst and most ghetto Walmart I've ever interacted with. It feels super dirty inside and so much stuff is locked up due to the infamous levels of theft this particular location culminates. They literally added a ton of self-checkout machines only to rip them all out 2-3 years after installation because they were losing so much money and product. So now instead: you have to wait sometimes up to 20/30 minutes in register lines because of staffing problems or not enough checkstands open. I've seen 4-5 pigeons in the building in the 3 years I've gone to this particular location. At first it was cute, but then you realize it's a sign for how poor this place operates. Go south 15 minutes down the freeway? You'll be in the Anderson Walmart. Night-and-day experience on how tidy and solid it feels in contrast to this junker. It's Walmart, I get it. But by Walmart standards, this place is the pits. read more

I gave two stars because their grocery prices are much lower than anywhere else in town. The savings is substantial, compared to many of the traditional grocery stores in town, and that fact is worthy of mentioning. However, their customer service is just plain bad. Rudeness seems to be a normality there, especially most (not all) of the checkout people. They belong on a factory producion line, but certainly not with customers. Indifference and questionable manners must be a prerequisite to get the job. This also includes the one produce worker who rolled her eyes when my wife had the audacity to stand too long in her way as she, my wife, was picking out tomatoes. Really? But, the produce has much improved since the last time we shopped there fifteen years ago. And the prices are obviously lower than what we are used to. All in all, you do save money. Sometimes two and close to three bucks on some items. But ... be prepared to encounter rude employees, and be sure to shop early, because even though their aisles are reasonably wide, the store shoppers are pushing and clogging up these aisles with their huge shopping carts (and you, the shopper) is second fiddle next to these aisle hogs. You wait for them, as they seem to own the aisles, and you--the customer--is just another object in their way. Shopping there kind of reminds me of a Robin Hood spoof comedy I saw years ago. The peasants would line up for Robin's men to share the stolen goods with the common folk, but after receiving your items, one of the Merry Men would punch you in the face before you left. When asked if this final punch in the face was necessary, the guy doing the punching looked surprised and said, "Yes, I'm afraid it is." Kinda of funny--in a movie. I regularly order delivery from Walmart but this week I wanted to do some Christmas shopping and went into the store. Oh my goodness, I had to battle the Walmart 'shoppers' with their carts and totes to get through the aisles. And they weren't polite! I was in their way and they were on a mission. No defer to the in-store customer, didn't get out of the way or smile and wait for me to get through the aisle. And it wasn't just one or two of them, they were through out the store and all with the same determination to get their 'shopping' done regardless of my needs. Christmas shopping at Walmart on Wednesday in the morning was nice, not too many people in the store, however customer service is lacking. Saw a woman waiting at the jewelry counter for help, and someone radioed that help was needed. A person working just down from her didn't come over to help while she was stocking some displays in the middle of the aisle by Christmas stuff. She was soo close and didn't help as I went by. The shoppers who push the blue carts around do not say excuse me or acknowledge you at all. A couple of them did talk and were outgoing though. I did ask where some shelf stable milk was and they were able to direct me. A little better customer service and manners will help the review. read more

The 3 stars are for the employees at the money service and the customer service areas. Also the few people I met at the registers were also courteous and polite . My biggest problem with this store is how so many items are locked up. They must have a serious lost prevention issue to even have pens locked up! It absolutely breaks my heart to see Walmart employees that are "cart pushers" outside in the pouring rain with no rain jacket or boots, completely drenched in the clothes that they have to wear their entire shift. I'm sure that many of the employees cannot afford to buy their own. They should be complementary with the job. You literally sell them... It's very sad!! They say that they genuinely care about their employees and their well-being, but this does not show that! those poor young men. Please take care of your outside workers. In the heat, cold and for God sakes in the rain. Some of them may not even be able to afford to buy food to feed their families. At least make sure that they are dry. It's not healthy or safe. This Walmart location is no good. It does not give me any pleasure to say that but I have to be very honest in the reviews that I leave on yelp. I hate when people leave dishonest reviews on yelp. It makes it hard for people to make an accurate assessment about the business. And if I am being honest this Walmart location is not very good. First off the staff at this location is completely useless. I mean I do not even understand why they employ some of these people. They have no idea where any of the items in the store located and they do not do anything in the power to try to find out I mean, how can you work at the store for over a year baguette you don't know where the toothpaste is. Are you kidding me! This is completely unacceptable. I asked for different people inside the store Where to find the toothpaste because my son needs a new bottle of toothpaste. And no one in the store could tell me. They then told me go ask the manager. I walked over to the manager to see if I can get some assistance the manager told me to hold on he was helping another customer and he would be right with me. I waited there for over 20 minutes in the manager never came back for me. When I went to ask the employee where did they manage ago they told me the manager shift ended 15 minutes ago and he already went home. Are you nuts! Why would you have me waiting there if you knew your shift was about to end. This is completely unacceptable Also, I bought a bottle of water, well let me be more specific. I bought an entire case of water and one of the bottles were not even filled all the way to the top. So once again Walmart changes the rules whenever they want. Christmas Eve 2022 open until 6:00pm. WRONG.....arrived at 5:05. They said we are closed and if you go in we will not check you out and we will call the police. What's up with that? Business doors are to remain open to customers during business hours for any businesses. So I'm kinda confused how they can change their hours without a notice on the building. Hoooooo-boy. I know, if you want low prices, you go to Walmart. So do I. But this one is not one of the better ones. Still, if you gotta go, you gotta take a breath and go. We had to get something for our campout. It was locked up. We kept looking and looking for someone to open the case up, and no one was around. I finally found someone, and she said she had no keys for that, but she'll send someone over. A short time later, we heard the request for help in the Sporting Goods department, but still no one came for many, many minutes. Finally, after someone else buzzed for help again, help did come, and he didn't appear too happy to be in the store that day. Walmart customer service is not that good anyway, but this was ridiculous. And the store itself was in just okay condition, but borderline. Not well taken care of. More things locked up than in other Walmarts, which says something about the clientele. Basically, if all you have to judge Walmart by is this store on Highway 44 in Redding, then it's no wonder people make jokes about Walmart and the People Of Walmart. Walmart CEO televised a statement about why they raised their prices and he stated it was due to theft. They have to compensate for their lost so the consumers are paying for it. Which is total BS ... go back to security and stop allowing people to walk out with stolen goods and the consumers should not have to pay off their theft bill. I just came back from Nevada and picked up all my items for my dogs and everything was stocked even when I visit the bay area those stores are always stocked. They have no excuses .. I decided to look at TV's yesterday and they removed all the TV from the display area which sucked. I was looking to buy a higher brand TV then the one I left with but didn't because there was no display. I left with a TV that I have in my bedroom and it was one that was removed from their display which I saved a lot of money on a 50 inch TV. I looked at those TV they removed for a good 15 minutes and finally approached a sale associate who had been sitting while on his phone this whole time. His response "I don't know nothing about those TV's" I asked you do work here and he said yes with cell phones. So I replied your getting paid to sit in a chair and play on your phone all day. He looked bewildered and told him he needed to get a real job. This guy was unbelievable didn't even offer to find someone to help me with my questions about the TV's but he loss no time going back to his phone looking down at it and still sitting on his stool. What a pathetic waste of an employee who sits and plays on his phone...thats a red flag. Walmart when removing TV's from your display it's very easy and common sense to provide the brand name of a TV with the size on the paperwork thats attached to the TV's. Also when putting a TV on display take the remote from the box and tape it to the back of each TV..use common sense but like an employee said it would be to easy..good laugh. I waited to long for an associate to show up to help move the TV to my car after a call was sent out for help. Finally the clerk very carefully placed the TV in my cart and told me to have someone up front help putting it in my car. So I did that but it was lost cause I was able to get the TV in my car myself while they had the outside table full with the employees who gather the carts sitting laughing and smoking. Those are the employees who I was told to get help from..yeah really what a joke. I even saw the phone guy sitting there still on his phone looking down. So in the future I will not be buying any TV's from Walmart. read more

After using the online pick up for the first time my pick up time was between one and two I show up at one at 1:01 I get an email telling me my order is delayed. This is absolute BS that should not be over promising and under delivering to their customers I should not have to be waiting here. They knew long before I showed up to my order was going to be delayed and it was not ready. I ordered my stuff last night at 10 o'clock. UNSAFE ENVIRONMENT I'm coming out of retirement for this review. Headline: Someone should tell the people of Redding in general and this Wallmart in particular that there is a global pandemic going on and because of this, wearing a face mask and social distancing will save lives. This isn't opinion. It's science. I visited this location on June 4, 2020. While in the store I encountered at least 150 people including employees and counted a total of 8 face masks and zero social distancing. It was incredible, ignorant and frightening. Besides the fact that there is a mandated California requirement for masks, this location had zero intent to enforce it and apparently the good people of Redding don't give a shit either. When new things come out the other 2 always have them within a week while this one seems to never get or maybe 3 months later. Toy aisle always a mess and never gets stocked. I was very annoyed that someone stole the pattern book in the fabric department. Also the patterns in the drawers didn't even go with the pattern catalog. This isn't a very difficult thing to resolve. You are next to a fabric store, Joanns. Get a new pattern catalog. Also sitting on the floor to go through patterns is very uncomfortable for older customers. Also not safe. I was thankful an employee got me a stool. Please improve your pattern area!! I was in a lot of pain trying to bend over to the bottom pattern drawer. Hope this issue can be fixed. Very concerned customer. read more

They just don't have enough staff to run a store of this size. The customer service buttons are pointless. I have waited for 30min + after pushing the button and calling the store from my cell phone and then I just gave up. They need to unlock thier cabinets and figure out another way to prevent shoplifting. There are many other options beside locking everthing up. read more

After going to the "Vision Center" and spending a hundred and fifty bucks on glasses, I decided to wander the store a bit and see if I could find a ROKU or other media player. After a salesperson approached me and asked if He could help my find anything, I told him no I'd holler if I needed help. Finally after wandering a bit and 'window shopping' I made it to the Media Player area, bent over to read what media sources the ROKU played...(they were all behind a locked glass door) and became aware of a pair of legs standing 18" from me... for like a minute and a half. Looking up finally I see it's the same IDIOT salesperson who says "It's OK You're Fine".... I was not fine. I was furious!! I was a store planner and ad exec for Target and other stores for 30 goddam years and I hardly look suspicious... I immediately got up and stomped out of the store and, after I get my glasses I'm not going back. EVER. I will NOT be treated like a shoplifter by someone with the intelligence of ALGAE and the haircut of same. To HELL with Walmart. read more
