On May 11th, 2026, at 10:37AM in completing my shopping at the #01347 Wal-Mart on Austin Hwy in San Antonio, Texas, I checkout through the self-checkouts. Upon receiving change, having paid in cash, the register continuously tried to complete the transaction, in releasing of my due change. However, for whatever reason it merely rambled on until I waved for the associate attending the area of the self-checkouts, wo was watching the whole time but made no gestures to walk over and assist me until I waved her over... I told her the machine still owed me a nickel but was rumbling on and on, in not releasing the nickel. She merely replied, "Humm, I see." Finally, the machine spit out a receipt tape reading ERROR in owing me still a nickel. Standing there, looking lost in what to say or do, she asked me, "Do you still want your nickel?" I replied "Yes, it's my money." She then signed her name on the receipt and told me I had to go up to the Customer Service desk for it. After a waiting behind three other customers, and then once at the desk, having to wait of the ginger-grey haired associate working the area alone, to put up some merchandise into some bins, in which she made no hurry in doing... she then walk back up to the counter and merely said, "Yes?" I told her about the situation and what the associate at the self-checkout said, handing her the signed receipt. She then grabbed a dime she had laying on her register and said, "here." I replied "fine" taking the dime and then told her I needed my receipt back and took it for proof of my purchases. She could tell I was annoyed with her in manners and unprofessionalism and only than as I was already walking off offered an apology to in in saying only, "sorry about that." I continued walking away, not replying, or looking back. Addedly, while shopping in purchasing Lodge brand frying pan, when I checked out, it rang up $5.00 higher than the shelf price. I did not bother in making a fuss about this as I wanted the item. But also, while shopping in the men's wear, in looking over the "No Boundaries" merchandise, I could not find a price tag anywhere and any of the garments there of t-shirts, short, hoodies, etc. throughout the whole display at all. There was not even overhead pricing or advertising for the brand name. And it was obviously not a display having been recently set up. There were obvious signs of the garments having been shopped through. In conclusion it is sad to see that not only has Walmart fallen short from its days of proper signing, pricing of merchandise, stocking items in their properly place... but more than anything is the lacking of customer service in merely showing respect, professionalism, and manners is something David Glass, Mark Schwartz and Sam Walton himself would have NOT tolerated. But I guess, for better or worse, the lack of accountability now found throughout our society, Walmart too, has jumped on broad that bandwagon clearly -for the worse. read more

Not very happy with today's trip to Walmart. I went in to buy a universal charger and I saw a guy at the door with the chargers display already open so I asked him. He went to get a girl and she had a bad attitude. I told her about my mother's phone and she asked if it was an iPhone or an android. I said an android. Then she went on to use phone jargon and I had no idea what she was talking about. I told her it wasn't like my phone because my phone is a t Mobile phone and my mother's is not. She said it didn't make a difference, even though I told her my charger won't fit into my mother's phone, she said they were all the same. So she spotted a charger that had three different input thingys and I said ok. I took it home and it was for the iPhone. So I have to take it back. She did not help at all. read more

I was at this Walmart yesterday morning and saw a man running around with his supposed service dog on just a leash. The dog stopped and pooped near the paper products aisle, in that main aisle. The man took off without notifying anybody or picking it up. A cleaning associate saw it and took care of it. Why do you not follow your own rules about service dogs? This was a disgrace! read more

I'm truly disappointed in Walmart upper management, Walmart corporate for ignoring my complaint. Victoria Crain store manager of that location, verbally attacked and disrespected me by using profanity, she even took video of me, she wanted me to kick and scream like she did but that's not me. I belong to (SAFCC) San Antonio Feral Cat Coalition, we use the TNR system (Trap -Neuter-Release) we also feed them daily, the colony has been there for more than 20 years, with permission from Walmart ever since. The incident occurred outside the store across the Garden Center by the fence, I had finished feeding the cats when a vehicle with Victoria Crain driving stopped next to me and told me that I have to move the cats from that area and go somewhere else, I replied that I needed to notify the people in charge of the Coalition, that I'm just a feeder; She demanded to move them as soon as possible, her words: "I can't have that in my property" I wasn't sure who she was, never seen her in my life and wasn't wearing any kind of identification so I asked, "excuse me, who are you?" She rudely replied that she is the owner, the manager, that she owns Walmart and to better do as she said or else. I asked, "are you the manager or the owner, you're saying your property" she lost it; she began cursing me out stumbling on her own words blurting out she's the owner, the manager, her property and using the term f*cking in every other word of her rant, she also swore that she'll have me banned from the entire property and will have me arrested for trespassing if I ignore the official complaint. At this point she was hysterical, created a scene at the store's entrance, alarmed employees went outside trying to get a glimpse of who I was, I must add that I'm a regular customer of that particular location for at least 15 years. Needless to say, I'm formally banned, I was warned by the cop that I'll be arrested if I disregard the ban. I was verbally attacked by this woman who's supposed to handle things in a professional manner, it was such an unnecessary and horrible event. I'm a 60 year old woman, she's in her late 30's I assume. The disrespect, humiliation, patronizing and treating me like a criminal, I did not deserve. What hurts is that no admittance of wrong doing from anybody, I guess Walmart is too busy making money to even acknowledge the incident that left me shaking. read more

This rating is for the curbside/drive up ordering service Wal-Mart provides. Today was my first time utilizing this convenient method of pickup, and I must say the guys working the station were ALL HUSTLE. If that is what to expect at this location, they will definitely continue to have my business. I wasn't even there a minute. On 12/03/24 I visited this Wal-Mart Store #1347. After some thirty plus minutes shopping for a few items, one of which was a gift card, I found the only one register open. The only other open registers were those of the self-checkouts. This one open register is unofficially labelled the cigarette checkout. There, I had to wait in line approximately 12 minutes as one customer, having no other choice, had to use this checkout lane for far more than the twenty item limit. But as I said, no other registers were open and now Wal-Mart has limited the self-checkouts to fifteen items or less. Any customer shopping for a full cart of goods is basically fronded upon as I have been told by an 'unnamed' Wal-Mart associate source from this very store. When finally reaching the checkout, I placed my four items on the counter: coffee two-creamers, one birthday card and the item in question of a gift card. I instructed the cashier that I would like to have $15 dollars placed on the gift card. She took it in hand and after a moment told me I had to go up to the customer service desk to purchase the card. In asking why, she informed me that only gift cards with set amounts of denominations could be purchased at the registers and activated. Any gift cards allowing a quested amount to be placed on the card had to be done so at the customer service desk as well as purchased there. I asked why this was. She said she had no idea and that it was just how the system was set up. I told her in that case, after my having spent some 30 plus minutes in selecting the gift card and birthday card, in having to wait on a customer who had no choice but use this single checkout lane in hold not only me, but two other customers, she could have the store manager put all these items back and to tell the manager on my behave this was a "stupid" system. In reply she stated most defiantly and with a rude tone, in that I could speak to the store manager myself and tell the manager myself. Rude as she was, I kept my calm and simply walked away stating I certainly will speak to "everyone" about this. There is no added security, and nothing done differently at the customer service counter than which can be done at any of the registers. So as told to me by my 'informant' from this very store. I might add, I was told it was due to Wal-Mart as a whole; in limiting "in-store" shrinkage from their associates this system of gift card purchases and other such now regulations are now implemented. Which if an associate gave it some thought, there is a way in which the associate could place in having the said customer pay for only a $15 amount placed on the gift card, while under the table as it were, place a larger amount of say... $200 dollars on the card without anyone knowing. In this, only the most trusted associates suggestibly oversee the customer service desk in activating and placing funds onto gift cards. In this reasoning, most all the checkout associates thereby, are "not" trustworthy... yes? This only raises the issue of customers being asked to present their receipts to door greeters upon having checked out and clearly leaving with bag goods from the registers, adding to the mistrust of customers' honesty. (Note: there is no legal nor no lawful justification in the door greeters in stopping you to check your receipt, this is actually on the contrary, an act of illegal detainment) Somehow this is to assist in shrinkage and reinforce customer security within "Gestapo" tactics in ensuring lower prices... but, clearly at the customers expense of personal time, questioning of their honesty and that of the associates... with dignity of both being confronted as if a criminal element of shoppers and associates were run a mock throughout the store. In this, I declare never to shop at another Wal-Mart if at all possible. And I urge everyone reading this to "boycott" Wal-Mart until they remove such practices in offering a more friendly and customer serviced base to their shoppers as was when Sam founded the company. In paying slightly more for my goods elsewhere, I have found far greater customer service as once was at Wal-Mart during the David Glass and Mark Schwartz era, who along with Sam, insisted upon customer service above all else. Sadly, that era is gone... welcome to the era of Woke-Mart in reversing customer service to the company rather than those who put the company on the map and has kept it in business all these decades. Now it has become the norm, as if we should give thanks and praise in being allowed to purchase their goods and services... thanking them for us being allowed to shop their stores. Walmart is Walmart is Walmart. If you know where something is at one Walmart chances are you can find it at any other Walmart. With slight variations for local taste. What I do not like about this location is lack of checkers. Always long lines. If you go later in the evening they have 1/2 the lights turned off. Nothing like shopping in the dark. What I do like, they are open 24 hours so if you absolutely need something in the middle of the night you can go here. read more

This review is based on using the free grocery pickup service. I use the website to order geoceries and choose a pick up time, usually that evening or the next day. I check the box to get notifications. When my order is ready, I get an alert on my phone. I use the app to check in, and it tracks me while I drive to the store. When I get there, an associate wheels a cart out to meet me. They check my ID and ask about any substitutions or missing items. I sign off on the order and they load my car. Then I drive home. The pickup process can take as little as 20 minutes, including driving to and from my house. Walmart grocery pickup is a great convenience and money saver. read more

Avoid online orders at this location. After placing an order for delivery, the courier failed to deliver twice. The courier was only communicating in Spanish and failed to translate his messages or my messages. It is not my responsibility as the customer to translate the courier's messages from Spanish to English, and it is not my responsibility to translate my outgoing messages from English to Spanish. Any smartphone can do that, and it's the courier's responsibility to communicate effectively with the customer, not vice versa. Additionally, during this back and forth, I was unable to convey to the courier that to access my apartment, he needed to enter a three-digit code, which is the same as the apartment unit where he needed to leave my items. Due to either the language barrier or unknown reasons, the courier was unable to enter my apartment complex after two attempts. I still have a hold for the charges on my account even though I have tried canceling the order, and portions of the order cannot be canceled. It was an awful experience. Next time, I will learn from this and use Amazon; I would recommend others do the same. The delivery service is subpar and ineffective. read more

This is quite literally the worst walmart i have ever been to. The employees are not only rude but useless!!!! They stuck a whole TV inside my car knowing it didn't fit, said they would come and help me after assisting other customers, and then never came back:) The guy then refused to take my empty boxes even though I KNOW walmart has a trash and suggested I throw it in the cane's trash can? I gave this a poor rating 4 months ago. But now the self-checkout system is working beautifully. You can go in, pick up your "stuff" and get out fast. I found myself bypassing Lowe's, nextdoor, for a garden product because I knew I could grab it and run at WalMart. Beware of Walmart's latest scam. You place a curbside order for pickup. They respond later that some items are unavailable except for delivery. They send these items separately and charge you for delivery. They claim you did not meet minimum amount eventhough my original order was for over $ 100. I do all my grocery shopping at Walmart, and feel that their prices and selection are good. When I need anything else, other then groceries, I always check their prices first, before shopping at other stores. Typically, I wouldn't bother leaving Wal Mart a review. My opinion of them had been previously tarnished. However, this morning my mom wanted to stop in and pick up some donuts for the wait staff at Thousand Oaks Cafe. I was really blown away at how well organized the store looked, how clean it smelled and looked and how well groomed the employees uniforms and appearance looked. Good place to get a battery for $50 they do have other batteries that your car would probably need but if you're just looking to get a battery to start your vehicle real quick you can bring your corn and match it up as closest possible to the batteries that are $50 and you could get yourself a battery for $57 with everything included. read more

What can be said about ANY Walmart Supercenter that isn't already in our collective consciousness? This store, closest to where I live, is a fair representation of the ilk: large, standard layout; not a lot of selection (despite the mammoth size of the store); some staff "meh", while others are relatively personable and helpful. I've used "Site to Store" shipment option at this store, and was impressed by how seamless it was: it would be a good potential choice for someone trying to avoid shipping charges on a large item! In addition, prices on canned goods, gardening supplies, sporting goods, linens, milk, and OTC meds are all better-than-average; for very nearly everything else, though, you might be better off going elsewhere. The very best thing about WM is convenience: if I wake up to discover I'm out of, say, milk - and also need to pick up a new flexible dryer hose (because the damn sparrows have built a nest in it again this year!!) - then a flying pre-dawn trip to Walmart just might fill the bill...uh, IF they happen to have flexible ducts in stock on that particular day. I issue this caveat because on a recent trip here, I was dismayed to discover that although this store carries ten or twelve models of sewing machine, they apparently don't carry sewing machine oil (I know: my expectations are SO unreasonable!). Scanner errors (double scans, as well as mispriced items) are fairly common at every WM I've visited during the past 20 years, so be sure to check your receipt before you leave. [Seems these problems were less prevalent when most WM's had "self-check" aisles - surely I'm not the ONLY customer who misses them?] I do have to concede this store is substantially cleaner than most of the other Walmarts I have visited - kudos to the management for that accomplishment! And hey: it's a 24-hour operation - that counts for a lot! read more

I am always a little scared to come to this Walmart. Every time I go someone asks me for money or try's to sell me something or get me to donate money. I have even had people give my kids money. I don't mind donating money but coming up to my car while I am in it with kids is a bit scary and we have lived in some sketchy places. DC, and Oakland, CA. Wish they had more security around the facility. I would probably go there more. read more

Travelled to this store because it was one of 2 stores in San Antonio that had the item I needed. After waiting 10-15 mins in a self checkout line (because it was much shorter than the 2 registers open). I was told they do not accept e-gift cards at self check out, and then directed to a full service register. After 20 minutes in line got to the register cashier rang up the 2 times I had, I handed my e-gift card to the cashier and the cashier team lead, who had just directed me to to that registered said they are no longer taking e-gift cards. I was then told to use them online, that the store is no longer taking them in person due to fraud. I offered to allow them to take photos of me and my ID but they still refused. read more

People sometimes forget Walmart has an automobile service center. I did and then remembered. I took my Ford F150 pickup truck to get an oil change and it was at least $40 cheaper at Walmart than all the local quick lube places. I used almost 8 qts of Mobil 1 synthetic blend and a Fram Filter too which isn't cheap! Great service and recommendations by the service manager. I would recommend this Walmart to anyone!
