Cavender's is amazing! I've been to a lot of boot and clothing stores and their style has just not been mine I guess. This WAS! Not only were they the only folks with the Ariat Casanova in my size and specific shade, they had cute clothes to boot! I was pleased with both the standard pricing and clearance sections. Plus they do offer a military discount! I don't see how anyone couldn't find what they're looking for here boot, hat, or clothing wise. Plus they do have some shelves and displays of home goods that are darn cute! Great selection of Ariat, Levi's, Wrangler, etc. I tend to stick with well known brands as the quality remains but I did get a few random brand pieces that are stunning! The associate's were so sweet, they helped me gather all my things (pregnant belly problems) when I was struggling a bit after try on. I had never heard of, or been to a Cavender's boots until last week. I'm kind of scared that I discovered this store because for one, they're everywhere and 2nd, I want every single woman's item in these stores lol. It is a cowboy/cowgirl heaven! We specifically came here for some Rodeo outfits and this was just the place to come to! They have it ALL when it comes to boots, hats, buckles, rodeo attire etc! I love that they have a "clearance" section and A LOT to sift through for good prices. Overall though, I do think it's a bit pricey but it's decent quality! Service was awesome! The staff was very attentive and patient with our many questions and requests to "see" stuff! Oh boy! I'll be coming here more than I wish, now that I discovered this TX gem! read more

Staff is not wearing masks and are not enforcing safety measures. Staff cannot seem to direct people correctly, plus they can't do math. When asked if they had any Ariat jackets left, I was told they did not. However, I found one which was discounted and when asked if it rung up correctly they confirmed it did, however it did not. Sad to see staff is more concerned about how they look than being knowledgeable about their merchandise and sales; it's evident customer service is not their priority. read more

Well, I'm a very patient man and don't do this, but I feel sooner or later it needs to happen. I've been to this store multiple times and ordered the same boots and they've never got them to me. So after the 3rd time I went to Cavender across the city. Yesterday I stopped in and found my Size boot and all I had on me was my phone. The cashier was going to help because the machine doesn't work with tap to pay and so I was trying to enter the card number manually. The manager came out just as it was working and I had almost pressed all the digits in and he said they can't do that. Smh my card on my phone literally says to manually punch in the numbers if tap doesn't work. Even then that manager was rude and I was so upset I rushed out. Over the years I have spent well over 10k at Cavender's and I don't think I'm going back. They did lose another $300 purchase to a veteran and it really sucks but I'm tired of the disappointment there. read more

Wow. Very disappointed. So, it's rodeo season so I'm going to try to give them the benefit, but holy cow, WHAT A MESS!!!! The womens department looked like it had been ransacked and then all the clothes THOWN back on to the racks in a massive rush. No rhyme or reason. Sleeveless, long sleeved, short sleeved, summer tops, coats snd sweaters all thrown together. All sizes mixed together. Same styles on multiple racks. There were 3 sales people standing at the checkout taking with each other, instead of they sorting these racks. But the topper to this.... I found a lightweight duster that I thought I'd try on. I then realized that someone had stuck chewed bubblegum on the bottom and crumpled the hem all together. I found a sales girl, showed her and her response was to smile politely, say yes ma'am, and walk away. I sure hope they get this place straight soon. WHAT A MESS!!!! read more

Bought over 300 dollar in jeans December 15, 2021 and 2 pairs already falling apart have called 3 times and none are in stock and called today and Leslie was to busy to check on Jeans I needed she was rude told me to come in so I wasted a trip to the store. The point of calling ahead is to make sure you have the jeans that are needed very poor customer service & this is the only store always come to. Will not get my business anymore. Then in December they double charged me for a pair of jeans so I had to come in again after I got into the parking lot to get refunded. read more

I got to Cavender's Boot City after checking out some other places. I could have saved myself some time by checking there first. As I walked in, the aroma hit me; here is nothing quite like the smell of new leather. Then I saw them, standing like the stacks of an ancient library: rows taller than a man, lined up like weathered walls of a city constructed of pure awesomeness. There were more boots here than there are reasons to wear them. I quickly waded in, discovering that facing such a large selection is both exhilarating and challenging. Enter Paul, who helped me narrow down my requirements, fetched boots for me to try, and then counseled me on fit. Imagine my surprise when he had me take off a more-expensive-but-ill-fitting pair of boots to hand me a pair that were more comfortable but cheaper. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and after I made my choice (a brown round-toe Ariat with the ATS sole and what-not) he carried everything up front, shook my hand, and then walked off into the sunset like Clint Eastwood in one of those movies where he shoots a guy who then falls off the roof into a trough of water. I was impressed by the selection, price, and service; there is not a better place in town to buy a pair of boots, which is good, because they are basically a requirement for living in this state. I couldn't be happier with this experience, and I plan on going back and buying a black pair for more formal events like evening craw-fish boils and line-dancing at weddings. read more

2 stars because they actually had some cute stuff. No more than that because when I walked in I was not greeted. Sales clerks weren't wearing anything to distinguish they were employees. When I asked about jeans that I saw online and wether they had them I was told, " we did have some...until we didn't". There were no mirrors in the dressing rooms either, so you have to try on your clothes then walk out to use the mirror. I found this very odd. Walking in i was confused on whats best for my wife as a suprise. The workers were willing to assist with any questions and very knowledgeable on boots and boot quality. Cavender's has a good selection of boots in all different price ranges. The merchandising can be a little off-putting because the boots are all on wooden shelves so it can take some digging to find a particular style or size but the staff is eager to help out. They appear to have some nice western wear too but that's not really my bag so I haven't spent time persuing the selection of sparkly belts, embellished jeans and pearl snap shirts. If that is your bag, you might want to check them out. They seem to have a lot of inventory. read more

Return policy is worthless. There isn't one actually. I made a purchase for some boots and after wearing the pair for less than 5 hours, my ankles hurt and my feet had light bruises. Not being happy with the product, I tried to return it after 5 days. When I made the purchase, my salesperson was great and friendly. Very professional. I left feeling confident I would be happy. But the next day (Tuesday), I wore the boots and it was just a very unpleasant experience. Considering that I paid $150 plus tax for footwear, I would consider that the laces should stay together, but that didn't happen. Don't know why this type of lace was chosen, perhaps for looks because it was not for functionality. Just would not stay tight. But I could overcome that part. Still a nuisance. Took the boots off and never went back on once I got home. I was frustrated, good looking boots. I had the receipt handy and that was the last I saw of it. I was asked for my name and phone number by the sales person the day of the purchase so I figured it may have been logged as it is done at NORDSTROM with personal accounts. Man, I WAS WRONG. On Friday, after Thanksgiving. I made the trip back to the store. Yes, the boot's were worn, and no I didn't take and measures to scrub it to appear as if it were not worn. I feel my return for an exchange would be honest enough. Upon arriving at the store I was greeted by the girl at the counter and she said wait a bit after I told her my intentions to make a return and get a different pair. She was polite. A young helping someone else and when he turned about to face my way. She began to tell him my reason for the visit, he opened the box, looked at the sole. Salesperson: (Envision a rude short little mean person) The boots have been worn. I can't take it back. (Closes box) Me: Yes, it was worn, hurts my feet. I misplaced the receipt. And...(Cuts me off) Salesperson: (Pushes box my way and replies VERY Sarcastically) You don't have the receipt and you wore the boots. I'm not taking it back. Their yours. I'll say only this. Never will I ever shop here again. For nothing. At any location. And Cavender's Boot City is NORDSTROM. I'll just go there if I need boot's. My husband was searching for a chocolate brown, round toed boot, so we went to Cavender's. I was definitely not impressed with the help. I had to track someone down to see if they had a specific brand, and he wasn't knowledgable enough to answer. So, he asked another sales clerk about the brand. She assured us that they did carry the brand but couldn't find any. We continued looking for, AT MOST, two more minutes when the female clerk commented that my husband was "awfully picky for a man." My eyebrows went up, and I told her that he's my husband and allowed to be picky. He's the customer and he's going to drop a nice chunk of change on a pair of boots that, with the proper care, will last him a very long time. Then, I grabbed his elbow and we walked out. I found their selection to be reasonably priced. I must say that the men's section has a lot more variety than the women's as far as boots are concerned. I did have to find someone to assist me but once I did the young man was very attentive and checked on me to see if I was ok while I tried on boots. By far and large the best cowboy/girl boot selection in this area! My husband and I were both able to find boots we liked. This is a miracle since we are both very picky. The staff was also extremely helpful and friendly. If I lived in Texas, I'd shop here all the time. They have a great selection of everything one needs to live in the South! I'm from out of town and I wanted to get some leather conditioner/protection for my new cowboy boots (not bought at Cavender's). Since Cavender's is nearby where I am staying, I decided to come here to just get what I need in person all at once. The boot selection was ok. There were a lot of really cute dresses/belts that I noticed. The women's selection of boots seems not as big as the men's selection, unless I missed a big section. I guess I was mostly disappointed with the customer service. Although I was just browsing, the saleswoman greeted me in a pretty halfhearted way, and once I let her know I was mostly interested in products for leather care, her demeanor only got worse. I really didn't even want to get anything after the 'tude she showed, but convenience and time outweighed my discomfort. The cashier seemed ok, but also seemed to be in hurry to finish ringing me up, completely turning around to chit chat with other employees hanging out at the counter once she gave me my receipt. Ok, yes, the sale was over, but...meh. Mike walked me through the differences and really helped me narrow down what I was looking for. I suspect they work on commission, but they didn't seem overly pushy, just helpful. Highly recommend if you're looking for quality. I thought the store was a high end western wear store with a very good selection of high quality merchandise. I was having an enjoyable shopping experience up until I needed to use the restroom. I opened the door to the ladies room and was absolutely horrified at what I saw. The toilets were coated with feces on the inner rim of the toilet. I was so taken back that I had to leave the store. I've bought boots from Cavender's for years and this is the worst experience I've ever had and will NEVER go back! I purchased 2 pairs of boots and didn't notice when my husband paid that there were 2 price tags on my pair of boots, one showed 189.99 and the other 219.99. The lower price was a Cavender's tag hand written with the description, like a sale tag, because lots of boots were on sale. My husband paid as I look around the counter at merchandise and we went home. I looked at the receipt and noticed they charged us 219.99!!! I went back the next day to get the difference owed back to me and Juan told me that the handwritten tag did not belong to these boots because it had a different boot number. It was ATTACHED to the boot. If Cavender's employee mad a mistake and mis-tagged this boot, well that is in no way a customers fault. He belittled me and told me I should have looked at the ATTACHED tag and noticed it was a different boot number. The description matched the boot and I explained I did not work for Cavender's and didn't know I had to read tags ATTACHED to their products to make sure the numbers matched!?!?! I think it's safe to assume a tag attached to their boots or clothing is the price your expected to pay. Juan's customer service was terrible and for that reason I returned both pair of boots and purchased the same exact boots at Sheplers for less!! Review from August 3rd 2014: I stop by to have my hat shaped and cleaned they usually have a tip jar on the counter. I left a tip guy then tells me there is a $10 charge I thought he was kidding it seems that now they are charging $10 flat fee. Ok I don't have a problem with this but post the charge where everyone can see and why are you asking for a tip if you are charging? That's called double dipping. read more
