We stopped in for a medicine and a small sewing kit while on vacation and ended up spending like over an hour wandering around this huge Walmart. Like another reviewer said, this Walmart is going through a renovation so it looks a bit rough at the time of this review. The restrooms were nice. Love the bright white subway tile. Very clean, chef's kiss. While I actually liked Walmart's clothing selection, I do feel their prices are a bit high for "Walmart clothes." No offense to Walmart but if I'm going to spend $20+ on a t-shirt, I'll go to Marshall's and get one there. We found some cute snack trays/organizers on clearance for $6. (My kids had wanted these before but they were sold out at our local Walmart.) Love that they have Texas Souvenirs. So many yellow clearance stickers scattered throughout the grocery side. Despite not needing anything, it is fun to see all the savings. We didn't have any interaction with workers and were able to breeze through the self checkout in like 1 minute. read more

*Please note: This store is currently undergoing a remodel* This store is HUGE. My husband told me it's the largest in San Antonio and as large as Walmart gets. Where I live, you can fit 3 of my Supercenters inside this store. There's a 200k sq ft store in Sierra Vista Arizona that might rival it, but this one feels like you're navigating a theme park with as much walking as you do from end to end. The makeup selection is impressive, spanning two aisles. Sporting goods should take notes because the sections are smaller in comparison, and the department doesn't appear fully stocked. I will note the store itself overall is on process because every department is very well stocked. Not a lot of options for underwear or compression socks. I checked sporting goods and pharmacy and came up short. The produce section is huge with plenty of space to navigate without bumping into people. My home store should take notes on this because no one where I live has special awareness, and no one likes feeling like a sardine. The staff are also very nice, though I only interacted with one group of people due to my social anxiety. My only complaint is that upon walking into the store on the grocery side, the place smells like farts. I don't know why because I was already past the first few registers and into cosmetics, but there you go. The store smells weird. Lots to choose from, especially with kitchen appliances. Nice opportunity for exercise if you simply want to walk. And thank god for kombucha being in stock. This is the first reliable source I've found since leaving Phoenix this past weekend. read more

The 1604 & 281 Walmart Auto Center specializes in unapologetic incompetence and a complete disregard for customer requests. I specifically told them--very clearly--that I wanted FULL SYNTHETIC HIGH MILEAGE MOBIL 1 for my 2019 Volkswagen Jetta. Simple enough? Apparently not. Instead, they took the liberty of giving me Castrol, because who needs to listen to the customer? After pointing that out, they somehow managed to downgrade even further and used the absolute worst oil available. Impressive, really. The whole reason I asked for full synthetic high mileage was so I could go 10,000 miles or 12 months without another oil change. But thanks to their stellar attention to detail, I now have to get another one in 3,000 miles or 3 months. Love that. Let's not forget the hassle at check-in, because nothing says "quality service" like confusion and inefficiency before they even start messing up your car. Long story short: If you enjoy paying for the wrong oil and dealing with people who simply don't care, this is the place for you! Most of the staff in this Walmart are not friendly, welcoming nor helpful. If you ask for assistance with locating something, they act like you're bothering them. When you use a register with a person they don't speak, greet you or even say thank you, at least not to people of color, I notice. Each time I come in I am not greeted at the door by the so called greeter and the cashier don't even speak. Today I had to ask the cashier (Ellen) for my total after she rung me up because it wasn't visible. She act like she didnt want to even say that. She said nothing, no thank you or hello. But the next people came up after me (2 white) she spoke and greeted them, smdh!! People are very ignorant still. We are all the equal and all your customer should be treated that way. This is why I perfer to use self check-out. I don't have to deal with rude and disrespectful people (cashiers), upsetting my day. read more

I call a Walmart store and I select the prompt to be directed to a specific department or the operator and NO ONE ever answers the phone. I prefer to check the the store directly BEFORE I drive the distance to see if the item is physically there. Keep in mind that my experience has been that EVEN though the Walmart website says the item is in stock; the item normally is NOT in stock. Sorry organization. read more

I should give this a 1 STAR out of 5. However I'm trying to be nice. This visit was quick but it should've been quicker. I wanted to stop and peruse the garden department for some seeds. There was only one stand for it and it was a complete mess. Leaving me to believe that the Wal-Mart staff organize this once a week or month. The flower and garden seeds were all mixed up and spread out through the whole stand. I took 3 laps around it and also realized that they have a very large amount of vegetable seeds but JACK or JILL for flower seeds which is what I was there for. I'm not totally shocked since it is the exact quality of organization skills to receive at this location. I come here because this is in mileage the closest Walmart to me, but this is labeled as a Supercenter, but I am not sure why. This is such a small Walmart and have of the time the items on my list are out of stock. Then I downloaded the Walmart app to assist me to find things before going into the store, the app is out of date for items that are supposed to be on the shelf. Also the prices marked are not the prices scanned at checkout. Keep an eye at the cash register. I like self checkout and I have to kick out a few items each time I check out. Yesterday, 2 of my 3 items were priced wrong. The sales clerk want a photo of the shelf and I did not have time to go to do that on this trip. I prefer the Walmart off 1604 and the Rolling Oaks Mall. If you must come to this Walmart, I highly recommend to purchase online and ship up in store. This feature works great for me! read more

We were just going to get a drink because we were thirsty and while we were paying the employees were just chatting and paying no attention to the LINE of people waiting behind me! When we got into the car and opened our drinks mine tasted AWFUL. There was white clumps inside of it so we checked the expiration date and it was EXPIRED. I am an ex associate. I worked there for almost 5 years. Most of the electronics that are there for sale are either missing something or they just don't work since most of them are items that other people has bought and they return them for a refund, so the associates just put them back on the shelves. I saw a lot of people stealing, but we weren't allow to do anything, so people took advantage of this and moat of them go to this place just to steal. One of the managers Kenny is the biggest di## I've ever met in my life. Him and Diamond are the worse managers that I ever had. They would miss-threat the associates by telling them the registers aren't clean even thought they are clean, they're just old. In conclusion this walmart is good for grocery shopping, but its also a place where people go to steal a lot. Kenny the manager is not helping to much either. read more

I took my car to this Walmart for a tire rotation at 12:30 noon, the front clerk told me if was going to take 2-3 hours. Me and my girlfriend walked around for a while and then sat down in the lounge area for people waiting on their cars, this was at 2:30. At about 3:30 I asked the clerk how much longer the service would. The clerk then checked through tablet and estimated that it would be about another 2 hours till my car was finished. During the time that I was waiting, about a dozen cars had been serviced for oil changes while mine was left in the parking lot untouched. After hearing that the wait would be another 2 hours, I asked for my keys back and left the establishment. Please do better about prioritizing auto care customers that have been waiting, Walmart, I am severely unsatisfied. The only saving grace was that the clerk was understanding of my needs. read more

This Walmart is open 24/7 which a a plus! Convenience at its finest. This location contains a bank as well as a McDonalds but those inner stores are not open 24/7. The workers here have been extremely helpful every time I've been so far so hopefully it stays that way, especially the older lady that usually works the self service check out station. She is just too adorable and kind. They just remodeled so it looks a lot nicer inside than it used to. There is also an eyebrow threading shop inside. read more

Why even have phone there if you're not going to answer? I called 7 times just to wait forever on the line till it hung up. I recently bought a TV from here that got delivered, the delivery was fine but I've had this TV for ONLY TWO MONTHS. The picture already gave out and I can only hear the audio. I've tried everything I could myself, but a repair would cost as much if not more than the Tv itself. Tried calling the store 3 times and it just hangs up, watch out in the parking lot if you go around 9 pm, there is a blue mini van and an African American young male scouting the parking lot and will approach you to ask you for money. Couldn't see how many people are in his van but we ran into this person several times at night already and there is no security there, You really need to have security on patrol at night. My husband asked for the manager. Management confirmed keys are broken with no plan in place to get key situation fixed. When we do we will visit the location in Spring Branch closest to us because it's very well Kept and the people in there are courteous and friendly. Tonight on our way home we decided to run in to do a quick return of toys we didn't end up giving our daughters. The lady in customer service told me her system showed it as not returnable ... why?? I don't know it was paid for with a debit card and purchased less then a month ago . I asked for the store manager , Vanessa , who came over with a nasty attitude. I'm Sorry your a 40 year old making minimum wage at Walmart don't take it out on your customers . It's a slap in the face when you are trying to a return and have some old lady with a chip on her shoulder .. you may want to wear long sleeves because those track marks are disgusting by the way. I have no issues with someone trying to make an honest living but it's pretty bad when you're walking out of the store and the greeters , one named Jose stopped to tell me she's rude to everyone especially the employees . So I got to this Walmart at 10:50 before I even walk in a employee told me we close in 10 min before I walk through the door. First red flag. I came out for one thing a controller and rush from 20 min away to get here. I get to electronic area tonight. No one insight everyone just ignoring me while I'm waiting for a quick purchase. I asked one for help then guy told me they probably won't come cause we about to close. Second red flag. I asked another lady and she told me the person who has the keys left at 10:30. Third red flag. While I'm actually about to post my bad experience the night manager JT was walking the floor and asked if he could help. I said yes I just wanted to buy a controller and leave. He said don't worry, I can make it happen you won't leave the store without your controller. He said he will get the keys and help me. I applaud this guy cause he turned this bad review into a good one. We talked while waiting on keys and told me he has been working for Walmart for 5 1/2 years. I told him people like you really help this company cause no one else cared. He got the keys walked me to the front and I paid my $75.00 for my PlayStation controller and left happy instead of mad. This was my my first of three Walmart stops. This store is the worst smelling store. When you walk in on the left side were McDonald's is it smells pure sewage. Now mind you I come to this store mostly and after about a dozen visits I could not take the smell anymore. At the deli area I was served by Shirley who basically put 2 pieces of cheese together then wax paper, then again 2 slices of cheese and wax paper, etc. I don't know why deli people don't put it alternating slice of cheese, and wax paper. My biggest pet peeve for deli workers. After that I went to Dalonda who was awesome. I asked if she could smell the sewage and she could. I went to customer service and spoke with female Andy who while she was calling an mod or CSM asked why I wanted to speak to them. Not great customer service by her to ask that. Then I speak to dawn the CSM who stated that the sewage is coming from McDonald's and that the grease traps are like cleaned once a month and that's what I was smelling. Now if I was selling or renting that space I would have in the contract stating must be done more often if that's the case. Horrible experience. read more
