I used to LOVE Walmart pickup. It made life convenient and saved me money, because I'm an impulse shopper. Now... 20-45 minimum wait times for pick up orders. Today for instance, I let them know I was on my way and I still waited for 25 minutes and there were only two cars there when I got there. Last time I came I waited 45 minutes and they forgot part of my order so I had to wait an additional 15 minutes for them to go get the rest of my order. That order only had four items I could have definitely shopped it faster. The staff is always super friendly, but I don't know what has happened recently to make the wait times so much longer than they used to be. read more

We stocked up on groceries and various supplies at this Walmart in Scarborough, Maine. A group of us rented an Airbnb house in Pine Point about 8 miles (15-20 minutes driving) away. Our house had a fire pit and we needed a cooler for a fishing trip. Originally, we planned to go Dick's and a grocery store for what we needed. However, we saw this Walmart on the way to Dick's and stopped here instead. It proved to be a one-stop shop for everything we needed. On a Thursday around 5:30-6:15pm, this Walmart was comfortably busy. We ended up buying nearly $300 worth of food, drink, and supplies for 8 adults. I believe part of our group returned the following day for more food, drink, and supplies like ingredients to cook the fish we caught, breakfast food (bacon, eggs, French toast) and things like paper towels. One of our important purchases here was a 48-quart red Igloo cooler ($24.88) which we used to transport water, beer, sandwiches, and the fish we caught. We picked up a 3-hour fire log ($3.86) to help start our outdoor fire plus a couple boxes of firewood ($8.54 each). Some pieces of the firewood reminded us of "bad" pieces of construction wood (e.g., 2x4s) in the way they looked and were cut. This was my first time buying firewood at a Walmart. It burned pretty clean. One of the guys in our group specifically wanted Cara Cara navel oranges and we were able to find them here for $4.74 a bag. Decent quality. The food that was average quality at best were things like the Walmart-brand glazed donuts and cookies (chocolate chip, M&M's). A dozen donuts was only $3.97 per box. A box of cookies was $5.87. Good prices, but only OK quality. That's one of the tradeoffs of shopping at Walmart. Also, the selection wasn't great. A couple examples of items I couldn't find were Claussen sandwich pickles and Duke's Mayo. For the latter, I ended up going with a bottle of Kraft mayonnaise ($3.98). We got fresh-sliced meat at the deli: $15 worth of ham and $18.49 worth of black pepper turkey. A couple bags of sliced sourdough bread was $3.98 per bag. A bag of everything bagels, $3.74. Slices of cheese for our sandwiches, $6.49. Philly cream cheese for our bagels, $5.84. We got lots of beer, soda, and bottled water. I noticed we were dinged with various "ME deposits" (Maine deposits?) for each pack of drinks. For example, we were dinged $1.20 for a 24-pack of Michelob Ultra ($21.27). I was dinged 5 cents for a single bottle of Diet Pepsi ($2.38) from one of the checkout lane fridges. A bag of "Mega" Oreo cookies was $5.68. We got a bag of double-stuffed too ($5.98). I think most of us preferred the Mega Oreos, the Oreo variety with the most cream filling. My favorite coffee creamer, Silk Almond Creamer Sweet and Creamy flavor, was only $4.90 here. That's roughly what I normally pay in Georgia and North Carolina, but on the low end of a non-sale price. Walmart generally does have the lowest prices around on most products. Unlike where I live in the South, where there are free plastic bags at Walmart, Target, Publix, Kroger, Harris Teeter, etc., we had to pay for bags here. I assume it's a State of Maine thing. The "wide bags" were $1.48 each. We needed at least a few to haul everything back to the house. They were decent-quality bags, similar to tote bags. They were useful for our fishing trip to transport snacks. We got chips (e.g., Kettle Chips at $3.94 and $4.98 per bag). Produce quality was fine (e.g., the aforementioned oranges, iceberg lettuce head for $1.98, bananas for $0.58 per pound, and a two-pack of beef tomatoes for $2.98). Service was good. We stopped at Walmart on our first night in Maine because we needed to pick up a few items we'd forgotten (phone charger, sunscreen) and wanted snacks and bottled drinks for our hotel room. We found a few food items we haven't seen in our Walmart in SC, so as much as folks hate on Walmart, they do have some local items. There's also a Dunkin Donuts in store if you need a coffee and donut fix, although it was closed by the time we arrived. Pro-tip for shopping in Maine is that paper bags at the register cost 5 cents. We didn't have any due to flying in and being tourists, so we had no issues with paying for a bag when needed. If we were local, we'd bring our own, and to be honest, I wish my home state was conservation minded and did this. Unfortunately, Walmart is almost entirely self-checkout, with racks for bags but no bags- and neither of us saw any bags to purchase or add onto our purchases. The attendant was busy, and the line was backing up. It felt a weird shoving items we'd just paid for into our pockets and carrying out bottles without a bag, but no one batted an eye, thankfully. No one enjoys Walmart, but this one had everything we needed and wasn't a terrible experience. Just remember your bags! read more

I woke up this morning to a flat tire... I had a bunch of errands to do including stopping at Walmart so I decided to go to their tire center. I drove up and asked them to check the tire (it seemed to be holding air just fine) and let me know if it needed to be replaced. After 1 hour they informed me that they could do nothing because the car needed 4 new tires. they said that even removing the tire for inspection could ruin the integrity of the tire...... i thanked him and I left and drove to Town Fair tire and I asked them to look at the treads of my tires - did I need new tires? the tire seemed fine and this was hours later. the guy at TFT said I did not need anything- my tires were absolutely fine on tread wear. shame on you Walmart!!! read more

I just looked at her because she went back to her personal conversation with a friend, she turned, looked at me and said "I'll take care of it"!! She was engaged in a personal conversation the whole time and never came over to fix it. I went looking for a manager and while walking out of the store one came up and said are you looking for me. I'm at the electronics section looking for some printer paper. Walked around and had no luck. No worries, let me ask an associate to help me. I see an associate named "Be" walk by and I was about to approach him. Before I could even say the phrase "excuse me" he blew me off and told me he's busy. I'm in the electronic section, point me in a direction, it would take you 3 seconds of that to help a customer out. I have recorded proof that a Walmart.com supervisor LIED to me and another supervisor is on that recording telling me that the other supervisor lied to me! IT IS REDCORDED BY BOTH ME AND WALMART.COM. I will post the recording here if this form accepts it. I purchased microwave on November 18, 2025 and within 4 to 5 weeks I had to return it for a malfunction. Before I returned it I called walmart.com to ask what would happen with my protection plan I had purchased. I had purchased a three-year plan. The associate who I initially spoke to didn't know so I asked to speak with a supervisor. A female supervisor got on the phone and promised me that the protection plan would be transferred to the new microwave as long as it was the same one purchased previously. She said she just saved my original email from the Walmart protection plan that was emailed to me when I bought the first one and that it would cover the second one also. After I purchased the second one I didn't receive any email about the protection plan so I called to verify that it was still active and it did in fact transfer, I was told no they don't transfer and I told that associate that I was promised it would, he told me I was obviously lied to and I asked to speak with the supervisor once again. Another supervisor got on the phone and said that they checked the recorded phone call I had made with the first female supervisor promised me that the protection plan would be transferred to the new microwave and I was actually told that she had lied to me!!! I couldn't believe it how unprofessional and deceitful is that! I will never purchase anything from walmart.com especially anything that requires a protection plan because this proved to me that walmart.com is completely untrustworthy! Can you actually imagine another employee of the same company telling me that they are company lied to me?! That's bad enough but then I asked, "OK so you're telling me that I was lied to by walmart.com so what is the company going to do to try to make this right? " And his response was literally "sorry there's nothing we can do about it "so not only did they lie to me but they refused to add a protection plan to the new purchase as I was promised or even refund me the $13 and allow me to buy one at that point, they refuse to do anything helpful at all! I do plan on reporting this to the Better Business Bureau because it is on a recording with two different supervisors who work for walmart.com telling me that another walmart.com supervisor lied to me and they will do nothing to fix it! read more

Two humans on registers, about half of the eight self check outs were functional. The employee at the self check outs was rude, his only job was to point to the checkout with someone leaving... which did not need a human, it was obvious to those in the long line who was next and which of the few checkouts were operational. I complained to the attendant... rectal orifice. He said call WalMart and complain, he could care less. He pointed to the manager.... there was a line to stand in to complain to the manager. The people working there seem to be the problem... worst managed WalMart I have ever been in. There was a problem with the transaction... I spent hours on the phone trying to get a service person, no one would answer the phone. Mike (would not tell me his last name, he is a salaried manager) was of little or no help after hours listening to the phone ring. The overall store manager is Kyle (no las name). Just when you thought Walmart couldn't be filled with any more dumb workers, here comes Scarborough taking the cake. At a Walmart location you're able to load money onto your Venmo card up to $999.99. Per transaction is only allowed up to $500. So when I asked them to split it into two so that then I'm able to make two payments well under the amount of the $999 they're telling me they're not able to do more than one transaction. But then when I was showing them that that's not what we're told as Venmo customers and to show up to Walmart to be told something different is an accurate. Instead of actually taking the time to read the stuff I was showing them ,Eric, the straight imbecile of a cashier, kept telling me that Walmart doesn't have to follow the rules that Venmo has put out even though Walmart is the only place you can load cash on with Venmo. Now I have to drive clear across the damn county to Falmouth to get proper customer service. No wonder everyone hates this store. read more

This store has a SERIOUS problem with theft. Every time I come here to shop, every aisle has opened products or sets with missing pieces or damaged packaging. There have been many times I wanted to purchase something, but couldn't because there weren't any that hadn't been tampered with and left on the shelves. I've seen people testing the cosmetics, I've seen diaper boxes ripped open and stolen, I've seen face creams opened and used and someone actually using deodorant in the aisle and putting it back. The staff here were notified and don't care. Neither does the manager of this store. This store also never has anything in stock. Things you would expect Walmart to carry. Like children's rain jackets, sun hats or snow suits. Good thing there's Amazon. read more

Yes, I am in-line at my local Walmart waiting to get into the store. At least the weather is great and I am outside. Now, I know you are wondering what in the blazes do I need so bad that I am willing to wait in a line for, thus far a bit over 25 minutes. Could it be that my prescription has runout, maybe the wife has a craving for chocolate or perhaps something more important like toilet paper? Now, I have to say that it is none of these important items, however it is critical to me. You see I live near the beach and the beach is my favorite place to go to relax, especially during these uncertain times. Now, I ride my bike to the beach and yesterday I woke up and discovered I had a flat tire. I tried, unsuccessfully I might add, to patch it. So here I am, in the Wallmart line picking up a bike tube. Clean, and well organized. You got everything you need under one roof. We ended up buying a random dog bed for under 10 bucks. You feel like you're in a plane holding space or a large warehouse. There are large signs that decently tell you were you need to be, but I was surprised there was no directory. As far as Walmart stores go, this one is pretty much average. It's not dramatically better or dramatically worse than any of the others I've been to. As is the case with most Walmarts, they never have enough cashiers on duty. Ever since they installed the self-serve cash registers, they have even fewer cashiers available... so the lines and wait times are even longer than they were before. The best time to shop here is late at night, an hour before they close. It's quieter, less crowded, easier to navigate and less stressful. Beware the fresh meat section. Check the sell-by and use-by dates. There is some scary stuff lurking in there that should have been tossed out. The frozen meats are a safer bet, literally and figuratively. I got a pretty good deal here when I needed a new battery for my car. The service was quick and the battery has been performing fine for three or four years. I haven't used their tire service but the prices seem decent. (You can almost certainly get a better price at Town Fair Tire, though.) This store really excels when you need a bunch of totally unrelated items and want to combine everything into one transaction. For example, I once needed a new windshield wiper blade, an LED light bulb, new socks, cream, coffee, and something for dinner... and I didn't have the time or energy to hit three different stores. Solution: Walmart. The shopping experience was annoying in various ways but it did save me some time. read more

I went to use my ANDROID PAY app last night but, unlike other major stores, WALMART only takes their WALMART PAY. I wasn't able to set up my card on their app because I didn't have it with me. I wasn't able to purchase most of what I was buying and some poor employee had to put all that stuff away. Walmart lost out on over $100 in purchases and I'm going somewhere else to shop. read more

Well let's see how many stars THIS Walmart deserves. I will start off at 5 stars for the stellar super duper hard working always pleasant cashiers.. Some of the cashiers I like so much I will actually wait in the longest line or skip an empty line just to say hello. Minus one star for the idiotic idea of putting displays in the center of the damn aisles so carts are running over kids, wheel chairs are playing bumper cats, old ladies are being buried under displays knocked over by pooches that one store manager decided he didn't want riding around in the carts out of the way of foot traffic. Speaking of which there is a self cancelling star RIGHT there. One star for being dog friendly, minus one for forcing ankle dogs to try to walk thru walmart rather than ride on a pillow in the cart. Because if anyone is IDIOTIC enough to eat something directly off the shelf, then tossed in the cart, pushed around with a few dozen other groceries, touched by shoppers, you, the black belt at check out, the cashier, and yes finally the bag- my God if you aren't going to clean that piece of fruit or cook that veggie or meat prior to eating heaven help you a few dog hairs are the least of your concerns. But one more star for the fact that every other employee greets my dog by name and allows me to open the dog treat then pay for it at check out. So we are back to 4 stars. Minus TWO stars for the ROYAL PAIN IN THE A-- that is customer service is to visit. You stand in line. You're either there for a simple money order or check cashing... Or you are one of the people who has to return every damn thing you buy, or the unlucky few with one item that really does need to be returned. But all these people must stand in the same line and that is BS first of all. 2nd and even more BS thing is that you do not feel you can ask questions like AM I IN THE RIGHT PLACE? Cuz if u do the line will actually move slower with MORE attitude and more breaks taken to discuss personal crap amongst employees. It is seriously the most pathetic excuse for customer care I have ever seen. Take another star. We are down to one. Well I'll add one back for the awesome auto section employees.. but that is it. Once I didn't get a hello the second time I got a hello but they hung up before I could say hi back called again was on hold for 10 mins so I hung up.
