This Walmart feels a bit smaller than others but it's probably just the layout is a bit different. For the most part this Walmart is organized and well stocked. I can usually find whatever I need - which is usually just the basics like standard household items, snacks, sometimes clothing items. This Walmart is in a great location with excellent service. I was able to find clothes for both of my kids with ease. Walmart always offers great bargains, making it feel like a true one-stop shop for everything you need. I frequent this Walmart because they have it all--from food and electronics to medicine. Just moved to MN. Been to plenty of Walmart's across the country and this is by far the worst walmart I've been too and it all comes down to the people you hire to work there. Went shopping an hour before closing time to get my baby formula and other baby supplies/some groceries. I get in line to check myself out and you already have one of your closing employee gals yelling at the person behind me about how they have to leave and they can't check out because the store is closed. Then she proceeds to tell everyone that starts to get in line that in "3 mins" all machines will shut down and everyone has to go home" i step in asking why can't she help us move things along faster by her helping us check out? She explains she wont etc. I then proceeded to explain "well again you're just standing there, yelling at everyone.. things will move along if you helped us but you choose not too." Then she proceeds to say "since your going to argue with me, im not going to allow you to check out all, im refusing service" at that point i had no choice but to leave because she closed off all the machines and refused to let me go through and pay. So for 1, how does she have the right to not let me buy my babies food and supplies all because i asked her to help us customers since all she was doing was standing there, scolding individuals? For 2, i do not believe all your cashier systems shut down at exactly 11:07 pm and everyone checking out will be crap out of luck once the time is up. Been here, maybe 3 times so far and it's overall very un easy. A lot of the employees don't even speak english so when i need help, i was crap out of luck. My first time here i was looking for pillows for my bed since i just moved here and i kept on having the employees look at me and they proceeded to stand behind me, watching me? I then ask could i help them with something? Haha and they just say "well what are you doing? Are you going to buy pillows" it's like no im clearly going to go rob a bank, don't you see? Second time i came, i couldn't be checked out because a worker of yours couldn't speak english so she dragged me all the way to the front, gave my items to another worker and then he scanned them at the self check out, set them down and walked away ha. Seemed dumb. This 3rd time is the last straw for me. There are plenty of others stores id be happy to spend my $ towards. Walmart will not be one of them. It's 20 minutes to close and over the loud speaker is what sounds like a young lady saying ATTENTION WALMART SHOPPERS, THE STORE WILL BE CLOSING IN 20 MINUTES...blah and blah. Shortly after, another announcement THEN there's an associate, female with a very thick accent saying the store closes in 9 minutes...she spoke so low I had to stop and listen to her twice. I only assumed she was an associiate because she was announcing the store closing. She did not have a name tag or a vest/uniform. 3 minutes later someone else was saying..."6 minutes to close, tell her to make another announcement!" THEN, for the grand finale announcement at check out, I could not even hear what she was saying over the speaker It was so LOUD. It's 1/5/24 a Friday night and almost 11 o'clock. Either someone has a hot date, there's a bomb about to blow up the store or management just wants to see how rude they can make it for everyone. It's awful. My mother purchased a $100 gift card for her sister who is struggling to make ends meet. The card would have allowed her to purchase groceries. However, when the card was received, it had a balance of 0.83 cents. Apparently the number on the card was used to make 2 purchases (emptying its value) just a couple of days after it was purchased and BEFORE it was even received by the recipient! When this was brought to the attention of the manager of the store from which it was purchased, she was told that nothing could be done since the card was "stolen ". The money was stolen by a Walmart employee!!!! The card itself was not stolen. It went from the purchaser to the recipient and to no one else. There is a RAT working at Walmart and they are taking hard earned money from elderly customers. read more

In general this is an average Walmart in that the staff is friendly but not always helpful or knowledgeable and they always seem to have a couple days worth of stocking shelves to catch up. But the prices are hard to beat and they're open late. But I had a brutal experience with a holiday card order this weekend. I ordered "one hour photo" at 1 p.m. online. Got to the end and there was a notification that the order would be ready by 4:15 p.m. (They have a "one hour" option as well as a "same-day pickup" option, which doesn't make sense if they cannot fill "one hour" orders in an hour, but whatever, I can live with three hours instead of one hour.) I get a notification just after 4 that my photos are ready. I show up just after 5 p.m. and I'm told that my photos are not actually ready, that they still need to be trimmed. AND that the store is out of envelopes, so I don't get envelopes with my photo cards. According to the guy who claimed to be the photo manager, "one hour" means you go into a queue and your photos spit out when the machine gets to them. Also, when you get a notification saying your photos are ready, it doesn't REALLY mean your photos are ready (relayed to me in a tone that made it clear I should have known this without having to be told). And in situations like this, Walmart calls customers "when they get to it" to tell them of the problem (like not having envelopes), but that I got there before they had a chance to call (even though I got there an hour after being notified that my order was ready). And his solution to not having envelopes was that I could drive to any of the Walmart locations in the area, explain what happened and they'd give me envelopes ... if they had any. But here's the best part. I took his advice and on my lunch break the next day drove to one of the locations he suggested ... where they don't actually have a photo department. Thanks to the manager at the Bloomington store for actually being pleasant and good at your job, and for the manager of the Burnsville store for covering for the incompetence of staff at the Shakopee location. read more

This used to be my favorite Walmart. As I headed toward the checkout, someone who apparently worked for Walmart was SHOUTING full volume into the PA system. It was so obnoxious, unprofessional, and offensive, I sincerely hope it was not a manager. It was so bad it seemed like an offensive stunt someone might do on their last day before quitting. Yes, THAT BAD. There were about 6 checkouts that were being used before store closing, and this female was shouting as if she were trying to just create loud volume shouting. Whatever words she was saying, was not understandable. Apparently Walmart no longer trains employees at this location. Clearly not professional enough for Walmart. Maybe this was her last day? This is the best metro area Walmart that I have been to. Granted, I try to visit early in the morning and know what I want to buy, so really have had no service issues. The store is larger and usually much better stocked than the Eden Prairie and especially the Bloomington locations. The employees that I have spoken with have always been as helpful as could have been expected. As far as Walmarts go, this one is clean, well-lit, and has plenty of parking available. It's a Walmart, so the bar and expectations should not be too high, but this one is more than adequate. read more

If I could give this Shakopee Walmart zero stars I would! I tried to call on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday to place an order with the Deli for six of their 6' sub sandwiches. Over the three days I called over 10 times and each time someone in the deli would pick up the phone, then hang up immediately. Tuesday I called customer service and asked to speak with a manager, the woman who answered the phone transferred me to the deli. A woman answered, I asked her if she was a manager and she stated no that she was the deli. I stated I wanted to place an order for sandwiches, she then transferred me to online ordering. When I spoke with the gentleman at online ordering I asked to be transferred to a manager. He then transferred me to Pharmacy. When I spoke with the gentleman in Pharmacy I asked to be transferred to a manager. I was then transferred to a manager, who answered "Hello". I asked if this was a manager and he stated yes. I explained that I had been trying to call for 3 days to place an order with the deli for a Saturday pickup. The manager asked me to "hold on a minute so I can get a piece of paper" and then he hung up on me. I am beyond disgusted and am taking my business elsewhere. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. I don't like Walmart's however this Walmart is by far the worst Walmart I have ever been to. Also this is not just a one off when I say this. I live near this one and have gone here several times and EVERY single time it is an unenjoyable experience. The employees here are ALL incompetent, unhelpful, and they treat the customers with disrespect and like your very existence irritates them. This last encounter I had they sold me very expired protein bars that cost approximately $8. I did not realize this until home (I don't check expirations usually while I shop dried goods). When I called I was told I would have to bring these bars back to the store (could not just refund my card over phone). I was honestly pretty annoyed by this but man I spoke to who identified himself as "coach Matt" said for the trouble would give a $30 store credit at time of return. I thought this was reasonable, he said he would make a note and just tell customer service to do a "letter to the president" and that he approved the $30 gift card. Long story short I return these expired bars within 30 days of purchase and the customer service people not only refused a refund (only gave me store credit for the product) they refused to give me the gift card. They said "no one wrote anything down" and I did not describe "letter to president correctly"! I could not believe it, how would I know even that there is a thing called "letter to president"? Like actual idiots but now I am to point I don't care about gift card I just never want to step foot in that idiotic place again and I would suggest others do same if they value their time, sanity, and don't want to eat expired food. read more

My fiancé went to Walmart last Saturday for an oil change and by Sunday we had a quart of oil sit on our newly done driveway and when we went back all they did was give a an appointment to come back the next day and do it for free but would not refund the first oil change which was there problem. I have usually enjoyed this Walmart as the people used to be kind, and helpful. They employed elderly folks and veterans but as of late it has severely gone down hill. I was in on Sunday 11/11, and I was getting some personal items (body wash, lotions and things of that nature). I'm also going thru chemotherapy and happy to feel better enough to shop at my local Walmart. There two guys doing stock, the place was a shambles; body wash poured everywhere, hair dye open and smeared, lotion all open or upside down leaking, cosmetics completely ruined. But what got me were the two guys stocking; they decided it would be fun to start shoving each other and throwing products all over. I tried to get by them and the one shoved the other one so hard he pushed me into the wall of feminine napkins and tampons. I got a grunt of a sorry, I'm lucky I wasn't hurt and then they kept doing it, a girl joined them who was laughing. They also knocked over an elderly lady as well walking with a cane. Horrible and despicable behavior! When I confronted them and asked to see a manager; they pretended to not speak English. I hope the manager sees this review and I plan on escalating it as well. Time for Walmart to have pride in their staff and hire good people who need jobs. Not those who would treat it like a joke or something to that effect. read more

This is a typical Walmart around Minneapolis. The exception are the following: * It has a better than average produce section. * I like their frozen fish selection here better than most American grocery stores in town. * It is right next to Sam's club which makes my shopping convenient that I can hit both back to back for my weekly needs. What I don't like about here: * The exit out of this area and back onto the State Hwy 13/169 is just plane idiotic. I really like to meet the commissioner who drew this up. I am convinced they drew it on a crayon and paper napkin...The final product got lost in process due to napkin was double duty as drink coaster for 3 years... * Electronics i.e. laptops, tablets, phones, seems to be out of stock, especially things I want. Note: The best place to go for Electronics from Walmart is to the one in Eden Prarie area which seems to always have in stock. The one in Eden Prarie is mediocre @ best when it comes to food selection and produce because it is a lot smaller. I HATE going there, but their stock on Electronics and fishing gear are outstanding. Everything else a resounding NO. Go this one in Shakopee for all of that. Bottom line: there is NOT that many good looking Walmart in Minneapolis. I happen to like this one because their food are is quite large compare to most and it has served me well. Wow! I'm kinda surprised to read all the negative reviews on this Walmart. I've never had a problem there and have shopped regularly (up to 3 times a week) for close to 5 years, since it's so close to my home. I've been to many a funky Walmart all accross the nation, in all my travels. But this is not at all like those...let's say "others". (My momma always taught me if you don't have anything nice to say, it's best to keep it up yourself.). Back to Walmart on Carriage Ct. It's a newer facility and it's a Super Walmart, pharmacy, tires, garden, groceries and anything in between. The store is always tidy and clean, the staff always friendly and helpful and shelves always stocked with the items I need and also stock items that I can't find anywhere else. Their prices are always lower and more competitive as opposed to a Cub or Hy-Vee or Target. Their Savings Catcher app is awesome too! The app will price match what's on your receipt and if it finds a lower price you get back the difference. Charmin and Tide and Bacon, I'm talking to you! If fact my weekly shopping bill would be almost twice the price spent anywhere else. It just makes sense to me. Let's not even talk about their deli and fresh hot food. Their rotisserie chickens are To. Die. For. Or as that famous old saying goes, "finger licking good"! They are delicious! I don't know what kind of foolery crack like substances they inject up in them but those birds sure are tasty. They are consistently plump, juicy, moist and always fresh and get this...just $4.99. All Day! Errday! Okay! In fact, they have a sort of a cult following, these rare delicious Shakopee Walmart birds. They are just not the same at any other location or any other store for that matter. So you can keep your Costco or Byerly's birds. They just aren't the same. They don't taste as good. Alas, we are moving to the other side of town in a few weeks and I'm having anxiety just thinking that this store won't be close to me anymore. Good luck finding someone who speaks or understands english, they sit there speaking there language between each other and seem to care less if you need help. Nothing is priced so you have to bring it to the register to find out the price or the item that is priced rings up wrong and they wont fix it. They also had 1 register open out of about 20, i don't work there, i refuse to ring myself up while the fitting room clerk, the cashier and the guy who sits at the door all sit around on a stool? What kind of insanity is that? Maybe if the lady at the fitting room wasn't always sitting in a chair the underwear department wouldn't be such a mess that I don't even want to shop there!! When we called a second time, same thing - no answer. Finally on the third try, after 15 rings, someone answered but didn't speak English and laughed at my question and hung up! Since it was an emergency, and we needed the product, we drove the 20 minutes to the store to see if they had the product anyway, and they did not. When we asked the manager why no-one answered the phone and why the website was incorrect, they blamed corporate and didn't show much concern.
