This review is specifically for the bakery. Or should I say cakery? Because I ordered a graduation cake for RC's college graduation and it was spectacular. Not only was I able to get Spider-Man in a mortarboard (my whole family loves the Marvel Cinematic Universe) with Congrats Grad and RC did it! On the cake, the white cake was filled with the most delectable pastry cream and frosted with light as air buttercream. Thumbs up for the bakers here, the cake was a spectacular hit! It's not your typical Lunds & Byerlys. Formerly a Rainbow food it still is missing 100% of the experience. I would put it at 75% and that may just be in the aesthetics and size they had no control over. The food bars are great and charge by weight. Customer service is fantastic everything you would expect. They are available kind and helpful. When you have finished your shopping wheel you cart right up to the cashier for them to unload check out and bag your groceries for you. They then offer to bring your groceries out to your car and will even offer to place them in your vehicle. It's hard to beat that. I find their sale prices are the same prices as Target or Cub full price. Consider their Thanksgiving meal in a box it is an amazing deal and takes care of everything you need on a busy day. Pre-order early to ensure you get one. read more

Great customer service! We had this one lady leave her post just to help us find something. The food bar is absolutely AMAZING and I have seen products sold here you can't find elsewhere. The candy section is definitely the best part of the whole store. And I love the build you own 6 pack soda! You can pick any 6 sodas from the glass soda bottle section. Their wizard soda or whatever it's called tastes EXACTLY like universal studio's butterbear. (You just need to order a sweet cream cold something and pour the soda in ) I definitely recommend this business read more

Oh this is a sad commentary about progress. I tried over a 2-day period to make an order that was going to be delivered as a gift for family who were having a gathering in Bloomington at one of their homes. I've done this in the past (at least 2 years ago) successfully. This time was different. Their system would never quite fulfill the order by allowing me to pay. On 2 or 3 occasions I tried calling their number and met with such absolutely frustrating treatment by a woman who seemed the epitome of the old-time concept of 'Battle-Axe.' She wouldn't or couldn't just help me by accepting the order over the phone irrespective of my pleadings. She seemed suspicious of my motives from the get-go. I just wanted to order about $500 of prepared foods including some of their wonderful desserts. I begged for her understanding of how crazy this situation was from my vantage point, a repeat customer from out of state who just wanted to spend some big bucks with their store for $25 per lb salads and multiple $50 desserts for which I would pay a premium to get it delivered. She wouldn't budge. As hours rolled by, my anxiety rose that I wouldn't be able to deliver on my promise of a sweet spread after all. So I did what reasonable person would do in this situation: I easily placed a similar order with comparable foods through COSTCO and their easy to use online software Really Delivered! True enough, I had to save $100 in the process, but the food from Costco was delicious, delivered easily to the house, and was extremely enjoyed by all of our family. It's a sad state of affairs that Lunds & Byerly have chosen to leave the Service market. read more

This Lund's & Byerlys is the best one I've been to so far. Compares to other grocery store, this store always stocks up. You will definitely be able to grab what you need from there and also ending up getting some interesting stuff that you don't need They even have car refresher made with essential oils. Hidden gem of this store is that they have good tamales in the frozen section. I have tried their fried chicken and sushi. Fried chicken - pretty juicy considering it is just food from the hot bar, well seasoned, tasted like they marinated the chicken for a little bit before they fried them. Sushi - seriously something that you really should try if you stop by this store and like sushi. The specialty rolls there are even better than some of the sushi places I've been to, great and innovative flavor. The one I tried had crushed wasabi beans on the roll read more

I usually have great service here. On 4/17 at Eden Prairie Byerlys I get to the deli and this older man was really rude. He was helping someone at 7:55 and going very slow. I get to him and he said it's 8pm and at first said he can't help me. I said I wanted Metro honey ham. He said he can only get me smoked ham because it's the only one that is open. If I see him again I definitely won't ask him for help. read more

I have stopped at this Byerly's repeated after work. I have found the young men working the register and bagging are very unfriendly, at times no greeting and not even a thank you, even after I say hi and thank you. Just no response. Tonight I again had the same lack of customer service from these young men. I purposely didn't say anything to them and shockingly no words were exchanged from anyone. Nothing. I have many good choices for shopping groceries in the SW burbs and will consider no longer coming to this store in Eden Prairie. read more

Since completing their renovation this place has made a complete turn around, everything about this store has improved drastically in the last 12 months. The store is now very nice looking, smells pleasant and is easy to navigate. Their employees have also stepped it up a notch and are very helpful. I haven't had a single problem with the service in months and this is now main main grocery store because they have such a large selection. They could improve their specialty food selection a bit though, I still head to Kowlaski's occasionally because of that. read more

I am thrilled that the Rainbow got replaced with a Byerly's. Rainbow was ok, but Byerly's has already surpassed them in terms of organics selection and welfare meats. I am particularly pleased with the selection of sustainable fish. My suggestions for the future are that they expand their bulk section (this may be in the remodel plans already, I hope) and acquire organic milk and free range eggs, which are both lacking right now. They have better bakery bread ingredients, and their service seems very good too. Edit: I come here multiple times a week, at least once a week for various items. I'm not sure why the other reviews are so negative. It's already so much better than it was. read more

When this Byerly's opened it pretty much looked like a Rainbow from inside. However they have renovated it and it's now a brand new look and true the the byerly's brand name. Check it out . I love the fact that they opened it in eden prairie. read more

The only reason I miss living in Eden Prairie is this Lunds. They don't make grocery stores in the city like they do in the suburbs that's for sure. It is always clean and in impeccable shape. There are always great deals going on throughout the store and very rarely are there lines. The staff are super friendly and even carry your groceries out to your car for you. I just went there for the first time tonight. I walk in and I'm immediately welcomed with THE WORST SMELL in the world. It literally smelled like roadkill that ate bad eggs. Still feels like rainbow, but worse. No idea why they are open. Should not open until it's ready. It's really nasty. read more

I live out of the area now, but whenever I am in town, I stop at this location and load up on all the things I can't get out here. IMHO, their selection of deli and gourmet items just can't be beat...even by Kowalski's! And hands-down, the best soups ever. I think the store itself is very nice and laid out nicely in a way that makes sense. I stopped by for soup today and ended up with two bags worth of wonderfully fancy cheeses, spreads, crackers, meats, and yes....I did buy soup, too! The help here is very nice and will go out of their way and take lots of time to assist you as well, which is terribly refreshing. So happy to have this store in Eden Prairie! Are you kidding? Bad, bad marketing decision to keep this store open during the transition from Rainbow. Shopping there is NOT the "Byerly's experience", its just like shopping at Rainbow only everything costs way more now. I was told the 'real' remodeling won't be done til next year. Well, Eden Prairiians aren't buying...literally. I went into the store on a Wed morning, the parking lot had six cars in it. Count 'em, six. I jokingly asked the gal at the register where all the customers were and she said "sleeping". I didn't have the heart to tell her they were at Kowalskis. You just can't open a Byerly's without the complete remodel. No one wants to spend the top buck in an ugly warehouse looking ,grimy used to be Rainbow. read more

My wife and I used the old Rainbow here as a grocery store of last resort, but thought we'd use the Byerly's as our regular store. I echo other comments that they all they did here was put a Byerly's sign up and jack up the prices for everything - just like the other comments say. What is worse is the customer service actually went downhill from what it was before. Now for the reason I am posting. I went there to buy a bagel and then wanted a cream cheese packet too (we're moving and have nothing left in the fridge at home). I searched the bakery section for one but couldn't find one, and couldn't find anyone working either. So I walked across the store to the deli, knowing they would have them. The first person in the deli looked at me like I was crazy, and referred me to some other people working the deli. They said no, it would be the bakery or dairy, and referred me to someone else. (In my experience, most grocery stores have them in the deli because they usually have some food item that needs cream cheese.) The next person again referred me to the bakery where I looked twice again, still nobody working the bakery, and so I left without buying the bagel. At the front-end I asked for the customer comment box and guess what? They don't have one, big surprise there! I used to work at a Byerly's in high school and would have been fired for providing that type of customer service experience. read more
