I originally came in because they promoting a "Holiday Gathering Open House" with free samples, music & more. I was there for a unique content opportunity- for the event. When I walked in it seemed like a very regular day. They did have 3 sample stands around the store but were a bit lackluster overall, nothing special. I did ask a staff about it and worked my way up to management - who basically said what they have is all they are doing for the event - due to staff call outs. Essentially there was no event taking place. I did browse around a bit and ended up grabbing a few items. Seemed like they had great deals and some items you can't really get at other stores. They sell baba's hummus, which I love. The produce looked good and they generally had a lot to offer as a smaller grocery store. I do like that they mostly group items together so you can see all options in one place, like gluten free crackers and next to regular crackers. Same with some dairy free options for other items. They have a ton of parking and if you park underground in the ramp they have a cart ramp to get your items down easier. read more

It's cool that this place has underground parking for those cold with three days. Store is easy to navigate since all Fresh Thyme Market store layout are nearly the same. I found my items without any issues. I did enjoy that the store was mostly empty for a peaceful shopping experience. They had everything that I expected to find at the store without any issues. Came for the $6/pound of crab legs. Left satisfied, but did not see ANY employees during my quick visit. I saw the ad for crab legs and decided to give this place a try since it's near where I work. The building is relatively new and looks really clean and beautiful. Produce looked nice and fresh. I even picked up some strawberries since they were also on sale (2 packages for $5). I can't really comment on service as I don't remember seeing any during my quick trip. Good thing I didn't need any help with the self service checkout. read more

Wow! I went to this store tonight and it has really gone downhill. I had 3 interactions with employees, and all were rude. The selection of produce was not what it normally is at other Fresh Thyme stores. Additionally, the self checkout stations were sooo slow. There also no where to bag the groceries and every person around us needed assistance because the machines kept needing authorization for unknown items. I will not be back. read more

What brought me here was my doctor's recommendation of their house brand organic whole milk. And it is delicious with a lengthy expiration date. They had a big sale on body care and I fell for it. At 1.99 they have the Icelandic provisions brand of Skyr yogurt with is thick and creamy. They have very unique combinations of flavors. At the check out at 4 for $5 are my favorite mochi. There are sales all over the store and I picked up ground beef 3 for the price of 2. One of my favorites was the snack pack of the almond flour crackers, also on sale. Even the milk which was the only thing I came in for was $2 off. I love the nature vibe here and they are different at al of them. Go in and out in a hurry cause all the surrounding restaurants leave a weird stench in the parking lot. A sweet young lady opened up a check out just for me. read more

I feel like this place is a hidden gem grocery store for some reason... I have only been a few times but the biggest stand-out was when I went on a Sunday afternoon at like 3pm and it was damn near empty. I feel like every grocery store in the greater Twin Cities is totally packed on Sundays, so being able to move freely around the aisles was amazing.. not only that, their layout is pretty great. The selection is fantastic, they have a nice big fridge up at the front with all the beverages you could ever dream of! Also, the fresh deli area is great, the meats are always fresh.. this place just has it all. Yes, the prices may be a little more but it is right about the same as Whole Foods (and also all organic etc). Definitely a great grocery store! read more

Just had the stupidest conversation with the manager at the Bloomington location. I suggested spraying some of the produce isn't such a good idea as that promotes mold. Jicama specifically. Manager said he agreed with me but those who own the place tell him to. When I mentioned that seemed contrary to profitable store practices he indicated they have other ways to getting rid of the product. So I guess it's more profitable for them to waste the food then actually sell it. Everyone should know that Fresh Thyme prefers to contribute to the food waste problem. read more

I admit, I typically shop at Cub, but Fresh Thyme has got some bomb benefits. First of all, the main reason I usually come ere is for the sandwich Deli. They have GF bread and make fatty sandwiches with all toppings for only $5! Their soup and salad bar rocks too. Just don't expect quick service from the deli guys--they're slower than molasses at making them but it's worth the wait. As far as groceries, I don't come often, but they have a great GF baked goods and frozen goods selection. Their produce is reasonably priced with way more variety than Cub. If you're into bulk food purchasing this is your place! Also check out their app--it's kinda like Cartwheel for Target--weekly deals and coupons. Earlier this week they had a BOGO deal on Halo Top! Seriously amazing--that never goes on sale and that's like a $6 savings! Needless to say I bought 6. There should be a Fresh Thyme opening soon in SLP--it's been under construction for years now I swear--but till then, hit up Bloomington for the yums. read more

Spendy, organic and private brands are the central themes of this new grocery store in suburban Bloomington within sight of 494 and Best Buy HQ. The store is located in a new strip mall next to Sonic and has ample parking (including an underground lot connected to the store). They feature gorgeous (mostly organic) fruits and vegetables as well as items emphasizing all the other "healthy buzzword" laden foods from Non GMO, to 'natural' to Gluten free. They have an in store bakery, nicely stocked meat counter, tons of fruits and veggies, a big bulk foods area with seeds, nuts and more as well as a big area of nutricuticals and supplements. To complete the healthy yoga-esque aura, they even sell incense. While not a big store, they cover all the bases but don't expect to find many name brands except for a few in the dairy case like chiobani. Prices are on the higher end but not quite as high as whole foods. Best way to think about this place is an organic trader joes. If you care about fresh and organic, check out this place. read more

No service, high prices, bought some produce at the market in Bloomington Minnesota and the orange is turned out bad. Not worth the fuel cost to drive back to get them replaced. IMHO, you're better off going to a local grocery market and getting organics from the markets produce section. The prices will probably be lower and they'll be a person there to help you. read more

We really enjoyed coming here to grocery shop. They have the best fresh produce at very reasonable prices. They always have produce in stock and displayed really pretty. They have upped their prices lately with shocked me and my fiancé a bit, but to be expected I guess. The people that work you're always very friendly especially upfront at the checkout. I do believe that they could benefit from having some additional people working the front end on weeknights especially at night as every time we go, The wait time to check out is a bit ridiculous but nevertheless we still come here because of the great selection especially for vegan food! read more

I'm admittedly a bit on the fence with Fresh Thyme, but I keep stopping back in, so they must be doing something right. For those unfamiliar, I'd equate this market to the resulting offspring of a three-way between Aldi, Trader Joe's and Whole Foods. This shall be explained in bullet points: - Generally cheap produce with occasionally very good prices on organic fruits and veggies. Though, sometimes it's just low prices on low quality produce. - Frequent use of buzzwords such as 'natural' which really have no defined meaning. That said, they do have a fair amount organic, wild-caught, etc. options. - Some of the meat/fish is very reasonably priced and they have a number of game options in the frozen section. Some of the meat is still cheap no matter how 'natural' it is. - Fair number of local products available. - Plenty of bulk options that are reasonably priced. - Salad bar, sandwiches and other prepared items are available. Overall, Fresh Thyme does overplay the gimmick, buzzword and advertised loss leader cards a bit, but it still has plenty of good options and usually reasonable prices. read more

Depending on what you are looking for, Fresh Thyme might be a hit or miss. I was looking for place where I can find a good variety of fresh fruits and veggies. Veggies were fresh but selection was the standard. Fruits, on the other hand, was a big hit for me! Highly recommend getting fruits there. Great selection. Very fresh. I think my favorite find was the 100% fresh squeezed orange juice. Will be coming back every week just for that. And if you're a transplant like me, this is the mid-west version of Sprouts. I can't say enough great things about this farmer's market/co-op/grocery store. The prices are competitive with all 3 categories in the area, and I hear they'll soon be expanding to White Bear Lake and Apple Valley. First, the meat is extremely reasonably priced and the produce is so so fresh! I love picking up fresh veggies and flowers from here. Everyone is incredibly friendly and ready to help. Parking is pretty great, I recommend getting in and out by the entrance by Wendy's. read more

I've been to Fresh Thyme in other states, so I feel I already have a good feel for what the store offers. It is sort of a blend of Whole Foods and Trader Joe's, in a good way. We stopped by the grand opening because we were already in the neighborhood...and I think the store maybe wasn't ready for MN. We love grand openings here! Some of the staff was already pretty tired by noon and even snapping at customers about fire codes and where carts should be. I thought it was funny that large amounts of Papa Johns was being delivered. The bakery looks awesome, their bulk section is solid and has some specialty items (different flavored yogurt pretzels!) and the produce section is large...but there shouldn't be moldy strawberries on day one. I eat a gluten-free, mostly dairy free diet due to allergies. I love this grocery store. Gluten-free items can be very pricey. I found several items that will be served regularly in my house. Gluten-free ravioli's that were as good as any fresh refrigerated pasta I've ever had. I also found O'Doughs thin bagels. I've had one everyday. So delicious and only 100 calories! So many great sales. Jumbo shrimp $9.99, $7.00 off. So many sales. This store is priced great compared to big box stores!!! read more

I'm a big fan of grocery stores. One could go as far to say I have a grocery store fetish. Well I'm a passionate foodie and there is something about the preparation and shopping that is very enjoyable. Ok maybe that sounds weird, especially from a guy who doesn't like shopping in general, but when it comes to food, there are new rules! When we go on vacation, we go to the grocery stores. Who does that? Just like different regions have different foods, the same is for the grocery stores both locally and Nationally. For example a few publications rated this mayonnaise the best in the Country but it was only made in the south. Well while we were in Atlanta, want to take a guess what one of our souvenirs was? You got it, a jar of mayo. I bet the TSA loved that one. Anyhow back to Fresh Thyme. I get the feeling like I am shopping at a farmers market. They have a nice section of fresh baked breads, a nice section of fresh made sausages and butchered meats, a deli and even seafood. They also have a place to make a pizza. There are prepared salads and sandwiches too.Their vegetables and produce looked really good for this time in December. They also had a nice section of bulk items and olive oil. Fresh Thyme provides an upscale feel without the upscale prices as I felt several of their prices were of value. There is a good selection of organic items both fresh and frozen. Fresh Thyme is also the only store in the MN that carries Schmacon which is a beef bacon out of Chicago. I have forbid my wife to make turkey bacon anymore and the only time turkey and bacon should be combined in the same sentence is when they are on some sort of sandwich. Turkey's should stick to being turkey and not bacon. This Schmacon is actually pretty good bacon. Taste like bacon and fries up like bacon. If for nothing else I'll be back to Fresh Thyme for some bacon. Check them out. read more

Can't express enough how much I LOVE this store. We are on a budget, and we used to go to Aldi for produce, Costco for bulk, Whole Foods for healthy, and Walmart for everything else - every week. Now after shopping at Fresh Time for the past few months I find I only need to hit Costco/Walmart 1-2 times a month. It almost always has everything I need and I am constantly surprised with how much food I get for the price. Wednesday's are always a little crazy since they offer two weeks of deals on that day, but the staff work hard, and are kind and pleasant. Makes it all worth it. read more

Yesterday I made my last shopping trip to Fresh Thyme. I've been going there since they've opened and have been happy with their prices. Yesterday I loaded my cart and went to the checkout. There was one human at checkout and all of the rest were self checkouts! I had $100 worth of groceries I was buying! I waited in line for 30 minutes as the 2 people ahead of me had huge amounts of groceries. I would have left my cart but due to the pending storm I needed the groceries. The glorious thing about Fresh Thyme is that fruit is nearly given away on Wednesdays. Blueberries for $0.50? Yes, please! Oranges for a smile? I will take three. Produce prices are eye-popping in a good way. Other grocery prices may require a small loan, but nowhere else can you find products like these. E.g. Santa Cruz Lime Juice. I will drive an extra 30 minutes to retrieve this bar secret. Your Moscow Mules will never again regress to their old ways. This lime juice tastes like grandma squeezed a slew of limes from her Florida orchard and brought it to your table. The part of Fresh Thyme that needs some serious improvement is the general mood of their employees. 90% of the time, I am the one carrying on pleasantries at the checkout. When I ask how they are, the reply is usually between "alright" and "I cried on my way to work." It makes me wonder what is going on at work to evoke such grim, Eeyore-like conditions. They also have this horrible habit of talking to each other; as if the customer is imaginary and staff conversations of who gets to go on break next absolutely cannot wait. If I had the choice of speaking with DMV staff as opposed to Fresh Thyme staff, I would choose the bright and bushy-tailed DMV staff every time. I love this place! It reminds me of Sprouts back in Southern California, same layout and everything. They always have produce and eggs on sale. They have house made chicken sausages and fresh meats. Their app is great and I get special deals on stuff I buy the most (like chicken breasts) and the people are friendly and helpful, not to mention remembering me since I am in so often lol. Pro tip: if you get the app you can make your shopping list the day before you go... then go on Wednesday mornings where you get double the coupons and half the crowd. One of my friends saw my check-in here and asked me what I thought. My answer was a somewhat cheeky, "It's like Whole Foods and HyVee had a big organic baby." But that's kind of what it's like. Fresh Thyme is designed to evoke all feelings of local, natural, organic and from the farm -- right down to the exterior building design that looks like a big red barn. Inside the store is spacious and beautiful, the same way Whole Foods is. The produce is beautifully displayed. The bulk aisles (that's right, plural) are dazzling in their array and assortment. The cooler aisles stretch for miles with bottles of kefir and kombucha. And this store stocks hands down the biggest assortment of Bob's Red Mill products I have ever seen. I didn't even know Bob's made that many SKUs. If you are gluten-free, this place will be your haven. With all that fanciness and the top-line products come top-line prices. There's nothing wrong with it. Folks who are fans of other high end food stores will like this place as well. And I will shop there, too, when I'm after something more specialized or perhaps just super high quality. But I don't see shopping here weekly or doing a full shopping trip here. Too pricey for me. This store also has underground parking (mega bonus) and very friendly employees. I heard about this place a lot and was driving by last week. Store was looking cool and I thought I will stop there and decided to shop. Cashier did not even said hi to us . Did not talk till I started a conversation . Did not feel welcome at all. Spent there 38$ , next day my grape tomatoes and box of raspberries got really bad. I called customer service and had a very cold respond about they need me there with my purchase slip and bad produce to see it and do a return. I asked if its any chance to look up my purchase from the system the way as Mississippi market coop did and they also can return your money on your credit card without seeing the product .. But the answer was no. Well.. I would not bother to drive there from Saint Paul for 4$ to get back but i would not stop there any more . Thank you . read more

This is a very excellent premium grocery store, and will certainly give Whole Foods a run for its money as it expands further into major markets. I'm quite excited for the location opening up in River Forest Illinois, within easy drive from my house. Compared to Whole Foods, the prices and variety are just better here. I really like this grocery store as I'm a BIG fan of Sprouts. Fresh Thyme is sort of the mid-west version of it but pretty much identical. They have great prices and sales. I come here to get the best deals on specific treats, yogurts and produce. I appreciate that their groceries leans towards the crunchy side. One issue we have is with returns at this particular location. Even if you're returning a $5 of vitamins, they give you the third degree, make you fill out a form and the manager comes over and questions you. I wish I would have found this place when I worked right by it! Great deals on the ready to eat foods such as the pizza, sandwiches (hot it cold), and sushi. Head over to the butcher for a great selection of sausages and other meats. Including a customer requested breakfast chicken sausage, you might have to be an insider to get that. I tried to buy a Christmas Tree at Fresh Thyme today and had the worst experience. It took three cashiers to figure out what I was talking about and ring it up despite me explaining that the trees were located next to the entrance and that they were $21. I eventually had to walk one of the cashiers to the trees. I am shocked that it took 10 minutes and 3 cashiers to ring up a Christmas Tree! One of the cashiers told me several times that he thought my request was bizarre. Left feeling unwelcome and I won't be back. read more

I love that Fresh Thyme has a variety of products each time I go that rotate with the seasons. It is extremely convenient, or should I say accountable, that there aren't many unhealthy options here. I can walk through the whole store and not be tempted by each and every aisle. There are obviously poor choices you could make, but man do they make it easy not to make them. The employees are all extremely Friendly when I've had any questions or even at the checkout- a rarity from someone who has worked at Aldi. Reviewing a grocery store isn't something that I thought I would find myself doing...and yet here I am about to give a few thoughts about my experience at this particular location of this grocery store chain. I've tried to give this place a chance and have shopped here as my 1st stop grocery store since November. However, I think i've given it enough time to make the decision that this is not the place for me. PROS: -Decent parking both above and underground. Never have had a hard time finding a spot. However, i do go early mornings weekend mornings so it is pretty quiet. -small meat selection but prices seem less than some other places - however as other reviews have noted "natural" is stamped on much of the stuff in many different depts including the meat area. -okay selection for fresh produce/fruits and prices appear less than Lunds/Whole Foods, and fresher than TJ's - but sometimes the area looks pretty sad -seem to have a large selection of vitamins/supplements/"natural" beauty products. I've never personally shopped this area, but it does take up a large part of the front of the store. - bulk food area with nuts/seed//flours/even rice/sweets - which is nice especially if a recipe only calls for a small amount of something that you won't use outside of the one recipe you are trying out. CONS: -customer service - this is the main reason I won't be returning to Fresh Thyme and will return to shop my usual Lunds/TJS/SuperTarget for my groceries. I have never been greeted by anyone working in the store, even checking out i have gotten a minimal and abrupt "hi" and nothing more. I often feel like i'm an inconvenience to the individuals working there by simply shopping there. I've actually been struggling to get something off the shelf and an employee looked over and kept walking by without even offering to help. I'm not asking for a red carpet rolled out for me at a grocery store. However, having individuals ask you if you need help when they see you struggling to get something off the shelf or looking lost, saying "hello, how are you?" when checking out vs visibly looking annoyed or chatting the whole time with their co-workers vs saying one word to you, maybe waiting to rearrange the meat someone is looking at until they finish finding what they need versus just rearranging and making someone feel like they are being "pushed" out of the way without saying anything seem like reasonable expectations. - many things are out of stock when I've been there -when i've mentioned this i've gotten the response, "it was a busy day yesterday, sorry." I wanted to love this place as much as others do. I'm glad they have found this is the grocery place for them. I think someone who really enjoys the vitamins/supplements/"natural" health/beauty stuff - they may like this. However, I can't say if these are brands that are popular since i'm note familiar with these items and don't shop this section. For me, the lower prices on some items are not worth me feeling like I'm not welcome in the store. read more

Fresh Thyme is the best- incredible quality of produce and meat, at incredible prices. My favourite is chicken breasts that are plump, juicy, massive and healthy-looking, which can be found for as low as $1.57 a pound!! Go on a Wednesday if you can because the previous week's deals are still valid and the next week's deals start, so you double dip for deals that day! Absolutely recommend this store! read more
