Today when I went shopping with a family member we had an awesome experience. We did our shopping while looking at all the aisles that were fully stocked. The shop was successful, however, the best part of the shopping was the cashier. Her name is Anna. She is one of the best cashiers I have ever met. This store, as many other Walmart stores, have stopped any customer services. I remember when you could go there and buy a watch band and battery and they would change it out for you. That service is no more. Time for a service oriented competitor to put them out of business. Service with helpful positive attitude is a must, but it doesn't exist here. My purchases keep going down from this retail chain. Vote with your pocketbook, support local businesses, even if it cost more. Headed to one now. read more

For two days in a row I received a delivery from the store on 31st Street with milk that was out-of-code by five days and then four days.

8.26.22 I love this Walmart. It's cleaner than others around here. This is my favorite Walmart in this area and it has become my new go to store for everything essential. I think I might have seen another yelper here once who's from this area. Not positive though. Either way my favorite store in the area by far. Extremely clean, well lit and a very organized store. Great big huge parking lot. The store has easy entry with two entrances/exits at two locations. So depending on what you're here for may help you use one entrance over the other. I am surprised for a change. I have encountered friendly staff at a Walmart. I was pleasantly surprised. So nice to see for a change. I knew it was a thing. I knew it could be possible at some point. Great to find. Very helpful staff. I've even recognized some of the same associates working a few times since I've been here often. Big store. Products in stock. Today I needed help to reach a box of cat food on the top shelf. Nearby an employee was stacking items on an end cap. I politely asked her if she could get 2 boxes of cat food for me on the top shelf. This employee actually let out a loud sigh as if I was bothering her. She never said a word to me but her body language said enough. I interrupted her for a moment and she was not a happy camper. If a person doesn't like their job, go find one that makes you happy. I definitely did not feel like a valued customer today. I only go to Walmart for very few items but will eventually go elsewhere and be willing to pay a little more for my items and receive great customer service elsewhere. read more

Another bad experience at Walmart. A man with his toddler child and pregnant companion became belligerent when another petite woman passed them by too close. He began screaming with such hostility that the petite woman crouched and took a protective posture. This went on for several minutes. He even said his pregnant wife who he was protecting would fight her. What did Walmart do? Stood around watching the entertainment for several minutes. Came out of every corner like roaches. I did call 911. Police got there faster than security. Sadly, my video won't post. One older woman in the group finally got around to making the call to security then they scattered when they saw me filming. read more

Grocery shopping has just made a huge leap forward. The pick up service for Walmart is tremendous. Download the app, fill up your app cart, pick a time and go to Walmart. Walmart has special "pick up" parking spots and they bring you your entire basket to your car. You can then then you drive off! Amazing. It is a free shopping service. Better than free, you receive online prices and don't waste time. No kids,no check out lines, no wondering around the store, no missing something on the list. Super time saving and the delivery people are extremely friendly. One time they brought out pop cycles and today they brought out a Father's Day card signed by the staff. Huge! This is our new method of grocery shopping. read more

What is it with Walmart not caring about customer service .....at all? Just to set the stage. Was there a couple weeks ago in the evening. Had an entire basket full. The checker was helping the person in front of me. The CHECKER SNEEZED INTO THE PALM OF HER HAND. Not the back of her arm, not the back of her hand. Sneezed into the palm of her hand. Guess what she did next? Wiped it off? Put a glove on? Used some purex? NOPE. She literally sneezed into the palm of her hand and immediately started picking up the grocery items. I almost threw up a little bit. And of course went to a new lane. I sent Walmart an email about the incident, giving them the cashier's name. Didn't hear a word from them. And the worker is still there. Hopefully they talked to her. Got my groceries and went to the redbox to rent a movie. Had my two nieces with me (7 and 6 years old). Two workers came out to smoke. Stood between the redbox and pop machine, essentially blowing smoke on my two young nieces. MINDBLOWING. I was just about to say something to them when the swearing started. They were complaining about their bosses, co-workers, etc. So I just cancelled my movie order and left. Smoking and swearing five feet away from two little kids. Again, just mindblowing at the lack of awareness between those two workers and the worker who sneezed in her hand and didn't even wipe it off. Finally, I go to HEB and it's "yes ma'am" an "pardon me, ma'am" and "can I help you" and "thank you, ma'am" and when you say thank you to your cashier, they actually say "you are welcome" instead of "yup." But at Walmart, none of those things happen. I just left Walmart and TWICE I had to move out of the way of workers. Just picture that scenario. A customer and a worker come to a place at the same time. In what world does the WORKER think they have the right of way and the customer needs to stop or get out of their way? The lack of self awareness is shocking. Especially when they don't even say anything. At HEB the worker would STOP and say "excuse me, ma'am" and let the customer go first. At Walmart, the worker just barges through, with no words, and expects you to get the hell out of their way. Also, how hard is it to be friendly? You tell a Walmart worker thank you and you get a "yup" back. You go up to the line and the cashier doesn't even acknowledge your presence. They just start ringing you up. At HEB they great you, ask you if you found everything OK, etc I just don't get it. I guess they are hiring people who can't get jobs at nicer places? And that's fine, I respect anybody who has a job, no matter where it is at. BUT how does walmart not take the time to do a small amount of customer service training??? How hard is it to say "BE NICE and RESPECTFUL TO CUSTOMERS. Say hello, great them, say you are welcome, thank them for shopping here. Oh, and don't sneeze in your hand, and don't smoke and swear around customers." read more

I have a love/hate relationship with this Wal-Mart. I love it because it's conveniently nearby, but hate it because they never have what I need - which is most of the time. Whether it be vacuum cleaners, small kitchen appliances, or electronics.. their selection majorly sucks so much that I just end up driving to the Belton or Killeen location instead because they usually have more to choose from. Produce section is average and limited, but their grocery department makes up for it with a somewhat wide selection. For produce, I mostly skip Wal-Mart in favor for HEB instead. Oh, and if you didn't get the memo: looking like you just crawled out of bed and wearing PJ's complete with fuzzy slippers seems to be the daily casual attire here - or any Wal-Mart for that matter. read more

Over the weekend I purchased two Hart lawn care items on sale. The woman at the self checkout struggled with helping me ring the item up because it would not ring for the labeled price and she had to get another associate to help. Half the items we looked at in the clearance section outside was either not labeled or very little discounted and not worth it. The next day I go to plug the battery's in to charge so I can use the limb cutter and it clearly was used! It was dirty, missing battery, charger, and instructions. I took it back to exchange it today and was told by the woman at service they only do refunds but there were more in the back. When I brought another one up I was told by another rep that they can't sell that to me for the price of the other one and that it was probably a different model. It was identical to the one I purchased a few days ago. They were very unhelpful and unapologetic about their clear incompetence on inspecting a return and then putting it back on the shelf to sell without all the parts. Waste if my time and resources going back to the store only to leave empty handed. When we were in the outside garden area 1/2 the lights don't work and we're flickering and there was no staff until you got to the registers. read more

Terribly managed. I take 95 year old mil there every Tuesday. We go because it's closest to home. For last three weeks there have been NO carts at either entrance yet carts are overflowing in the racks outside and spilled out into parking spaces. Don't give me the "short on help" excuse. There are employees just standing around. There's management up front just standing around. I went to report it last week. The CSR just stared at me. Absolutely no response. I walked mil back to car and went to H‑E‑B. there's no excuse. Self-serve checkouts. Now bring your own cart from the parking lot. Oh, and if you're that short handed then managers...leaving your "lookout & conversation" posts and bring in the carts yourself. At 7:48 AM on April17th an email from... At 7:48 AM on April17th an email from Walmart announcing a price drop on an item I had interest in. The price drop was from $29.97 to $19.99. So I headed to my local store,746, where the item showed in stock. Problem was the store still showed the price as $29.99. Also the Walmart website shows the price as $23.49. In other words Walmart has no idea what the true price is. And in the 21th century Walmart is incapable of instantly updating prices and store inventory on their website, something Radio Shack could do 30 years ago. read more

I wish I could give a them a negative one star. I brought 32 pieces of fried chicken from the deli for our potluck today 102717. Something told me to check it but I didn't. I was so embarrassed when my co workers opened the box. The chicken was burnt, hard and no flavor whatsoever.I have been trying to call the manager but no answer. I will keep calling until I get a response. I would not recommend this deli to anyone. I am glad that I changed my order from 50 pieces to 36(2-16 pieces). read more

After dealing with Walmart for a number of years. Service has never been great in the store,ie lack of open registers, lack of staff for assistance. God forbid you have to return something, you are looking at 30 minute wait time. If you plan to do a pickup, be ready to wait and find some help. But Walmart call center has to be the worst I have seen. They have multiple accounts for me. I have asked to have this information removed. The on duty manager Andre refused to assist with issue. HEY, its walmart that in itself tells you how it is. Low everyday prices on prodcts we like to shop for. I love the clearance sections they are usually priced to sell. Not so much this year as in the past years seems the clearance is a little higher but still however priced to sell. Some employees in the Temple location do seem to not want to have time to answer questions, but overall i like this walmart! I am here quite often! The Belton and Harker Heights locations seem to be better to me though! read more

At the super center Wal Mart on S31st I needed to go to a checker as I had some questions. Only 2 checkers open..1 with 7 people in line and the other had 9. I am disabled and not well. I chose to leave. I had drank part of a half gal. chocolete milk and rather than just leave and not pay for it I tried to give 2 ladys at the door 3.00 dollars and leave. OH NO I had to check out. I explained my situation. They called a young man over who said even if I left the money and remaining milk and stepped thru that door he would have to 'continue policy". I almost did it but refrained. He kept saying you have to check out several times. Isaid I wasnt waiting in line. He told me I could go to customer service and I followed him and paid my 1.86 dollars. I had bought a computer before checking out and had the reciept. He looked at it 3 times. I told him we could go to electronics dept. to verify my purchase, but he refused. We went back to the door where he told me you cant take out there. I hadnt intended to. But after his hateful tone of voice I got the milk, the computer and my cane and got off the nearly useless cart. I told him if I fell WalMart could pay for it. He smirked and said ok. I left and waited for ride and did not fall. Every time I go there its something besides only 1 or 2 checkers. Wal Mart doesnt care about the customers because they pretty have a monopoly. read more

Even by Walmart standards this place is ratchet. Recently encountered a cashier unwilling to do a simple cash reload to a prepaid card that made us walk back to customer service from Lawn & Garden register because she can't perform simple transactions and refused to get help or learn how. I was even attempting to tell her simple steps to process transaction.. It felt like a skit from MadTV. She was about to have a meltdown of some sort. She was hysterically shouting incoherent excuses after I was walking back to other side of store. I thought People of Wal-Mart were limited to customers not employees! This store is lacking in product availability. The outdoor Lawn area is a bunch of empty space. A few end caps of merchandise and a few display model grills in disrepair. Doesn't seem like anyone wants to sell there or restock or really do anything job related. Registers are insufficently staffed. The store is crowded with some real characters. Employees move unusually slow and you're lucky to have any type of assistance. Better to shop online or go to Target, Lowes, etc. read more

Not only do they get half my check, well not half but a good portion of it (them and HEB) but I actually like going to here to walk around & looking at the new sale items i.e. new spices are usually on sale once they are put out, the deodorant thats on sale for that day, the batteries they put on sale. Just different stuff that if you werent looking, you'd miss it. Now I must say, this one isn't as nice as the Belton one, but it serves its purpose. If you don't like crowds, avoid at peak hours because it gets busy. I know a lot of people who don't like this store, but hey, it serves its purpose, there are other stores you can go to if w/m isn't your cup of tea. read more

It is what it is. I shop there because I like to save money, and I don't expect much in the way of service. However, this particular store annoys me because the managers get on the intercom and scold the employees. That is so weird. Dear managers. Communicate with your employees some other way. What can you say? Open 24hrs. Which is convenient. I also love the new self checkouts which are great time savers. Sometimes I wish the shelves were stocked better though, and that's why I'm giving four stars instead of five. But walk into any Walmart in Austin or similiar city, and you will feel grateful for the one in Temple. read more

RIDICULOUS!!! I am new to the area and have been there twice. First time I was trying to get an Xbox 360... I asked the lady at the electronics dept to help me get it out of the case... She said "I don't think we have any Xbox's left", then turned around and walked away... WELL, I seen the freakin Xbox sitting there in the case... I know they had them... I seen it with my own eyes... The second time I went there, I asked where the laser pointers were... The person said "I don't know", and walked away... WTF... that is terrible customer service.. All Walmarts are basically the same. This one is always messy and the produce always looks terrible. But they're so freakin convenient. Never enough lines open but that seems to be a trend in the Temple area when it comes to shopping. Cashiers are usually nice tho. Greeters? Not so much. read more
