Inside, the store was well organized, making it easy to find everything we needed without wandering around too much. We were able to grab all our items quickly and efficiently with no issues at all. I worked here as a second overnight job, and unfortunately my experience was disappointing due to a lack of professionalism and effective leadership on the overnight shift. Training and communication were inconsistent from the very beginning. On my first night, I was trained by an employee who was terminated by my second night. As a new hire, I assumed the way I was trained was correct, especially since no member of leadership ever corrected my work or provided feedback afterward. I worked overnight stocking and continued doing the job the way I was trained for nearly three months. During that time, I was never written up, never tardy, and never received any form of disciplinary action or coaching. No manager ever pulled me aside to discuss expectations or performance concerns. The overnight work environment itself also lacked professionalism. Some employees who remained employed regularly displayed behavior that was immature and unprofessional, which made the atmosphere uncomfortable at times and reflected a lack of accountability from leadership. Almost three months in, I started hearing rumors from coworkers that the overnight manager, Calvin, was not satisfied with my performance. Because I knew him outside of work, I chose to speak with him directly and asked how I was doing. He told me I was doing fine and had nothing to worry about. Based on that conversation, I trusted his word and decided not to go to the People's Office (HR), even though I had considered it due to the mixed messages. A day or two later, shortly after midnight, I received a text message from Calvin stating that I was being let go and that it "wasn't personal, just business." This was surprising and discouraging, especially after being told directly that my performance was fine. Being terminated via text message, without prior warning, documentation, or an opportunity to improve, felt unprofessional. With better leadership, this situation could have been avoided. Clear expectations, proper training, honest feedback, and a performance improvement plan would have helped set employees up for success. Unfortunately, the overnight shift lacked structure, transparency, and strong leadership, which made this a negative experience overall. read more

I've had 2 occasions to visit Customer service at this store. Last week there were 2 employees behind the counter at Customer Service, when I was next in line. It took nearly 20 minutes for them to deal with their customers before calling me forward. This afternoon, I arrived and NO ONE was waiting in line. The sole employee behind the counter was dealing with a woman's moneygram transaction, and so it again took over 15 minutes before I was called to the counter. No apology. No signs they were concerned I was having to wait an inordinately long time. Not exactly the definition of "Customer Service". Even after learning of the dreadful loss of lives at an out of state Walmart, I decided to give their store a try as they sold a product I was interested. They had only one unit available for sale. After the unusual waiting in line experience to purchase my items, I did not notice that I was charged twice for the unit until returning home. Therefore, since the amount wasn't negligible, I returned to this location for a refund. Several people ahead of me waited in the Service line. Sort of in the twilight zone. However, a clerk assigned to something else shared that the Service department was closed - Walmart had no one trained to work there. Next, I asked the cashier for assistance. No. They are not allowed. Next, asked someone with a Walmart associate to speak with the manager. No response from the manager either. Walmart is understaffed in number of employees, their abilities, skills, aptitude and attitudes. Their folks are either extremely frustrated, if they have a conscious. I am beyond frustrated with this store. I work off of a privately owned road that unfortunately runs behind this Walmart. The road is clearly marked private not for through traffic however people ignore it. Every day O struggle to get out because all of the Walmart shopper using a this "Private Road" I have even seen delivery trucks for Walmart using it. On the rare occasion I'm pursuing something I need and this is the only place I can get it, I'm consistently disappointed in almost every aspect, including how often their website says they have what I need but they don't. This is a terrible company that's well documented for treating their employees poorly, limiting opportunity for women and minorities within the company, and ruining the marketplace for small business owner who can't compete with their insanely low prices (often because of buying product from shady foreign manufacturers that likely stay in business by using sweat shops and desperately poor employees). I have to say this Walmart used to be my go-to to buy a big jug of laundry detergent as well as a massive pack of paper towels and toilet paper. And not to mention I used to get their bottled water and a few grocery items. I used to be able to get in and get out pretty quickly before the pandemic. However, since the pandemic hit, this store has gone downhill. The last couple of times I have came into this location, it seemed extra dirty, and the lines have been ridiculous. At one point, I realize that I had been standing in line to pay for my items, then it took for me to shop and get my things and get in line. The last time I was in this store, I will have to admit been a couple of months ago. The line was so ridiculously long and slow that at one point, I was thinking about pushing my cart down an aisle and walking out. I get my laundry Soap and Toilet paper and paper towels from Amazon now, and I realize I am paying more for it, but I don't want to deal with long lines at the store. But it seems like EVERY TIME I place an online order for delivery, I never get my groceries. The first time, I ended up having to drive to the store and pick up my groceries. A driver was never called to pick up my order. After receiving an email saying there was a delay. This time, I placed my order. Again, I got an email saying there was a delay. I've chatted with reps, called and spoke with reps, and I've even called and spoke with the team lead over that department. After being told by multiple reps, the order was canceled, and it'll take about 2- 3 hours for the refund. The last rep told me it'll take TWO DAYS!!! This Walmart is always well stocked with items and has fair prices. I usually come for staple items like shampoo, toothpaste, mouth wash and dog food and they even accept coupons! Typical Super Walmart with all the products and food staples you would expect to see with the signature value pricing this chain is known for. This store is clean to include the restrooms and appears well run. I shop here only on occasion when I am specifically looking for certain merchandise and on a really rare occasion for food as there are other higher quality/better value stores I go to as my primary source for both of these items. On this particular trip I was looking to price out a portable basketball setup for the grandkids for Xmas and was not disappointed as I found several to choose from all at lower than expected prices based on what I had seen at local sporting goods stores and on line. While there, I also bought some Halloween candy and priced some iPhone accessories for my new Iphone. In general, a good value based store/chain that should have much of what you are looking for relative to products and food staples, especially if it is something you need now and cannot wait for an on line delivery or want the convenience of close proximity if you are in the area. Located in a busy large stripmall off a busy main road. A very cramped feeling Walmart. I had to use the return desk, and they are slow and cramped there. Nor that they don't give respect they only come to you when they have a problem with some thing. Usually don't have an issue going in, grabbing what I want, and checking out quickly. I've also used it for their 'ship to store' pick up option, definitely a fan of that. I didn't know this was a supercenter cause they didn't designate it outside with the store logo. But they have all the departments. Pharmacy, Optics, a Subway, Clothing, Grocery, Deli, etc. You name it, they probably have it. It's in a prime location near the Business side of Troy bordering Birmingham, Royal Oak, and Clawson and like many Walmarts open late on weeknights. They were not wearing there masks properly brushing there hair while customers were right there eating and drinking right in front of customers. One guy named Carlos who works in the electronics department called the customers mother fuckers. All employees were laughing at the customers in line. One star because it was the lowest I can give. Me and 2!!! Other friends used 1 shopping cart to purchase our snacks and cooler for a long road trip and went to self check out which took us 10-15mins to get to the front of the line. Got told by the lady who was working at self check out that it was 20 items or less in the rudest manner possible. We stated we were 3 people and would check out separately after each other. She then stated it was 1 cart and to go to a register still stating it rudely. We moved out of line and counted how many items which it ended up at 22 items total between 3 people. Announcements were made in the store yet nothing ever happened. I complained and a manager called me, which was nice of her. But she said she would follow up with some compensation and never did.
