This is not the first time and it is shame that consumers (shoppers) have to check their receipt just to verify the accuracy of cashiers. We normally shop at Walmart and not HEB because of wider aisles and friendlier shopping experience. But the only thing that I have complain about is that in numerous occasion I noticed either I have been overcharged for items or charged for item that I did not had? The sad part about it is that now I have to go stand in line for customer service just to get refunds on over charged items, and no need to elaborate on the rudeness of customer service associate that they question excessively and make you feel guilty to bring such a issue to their attention. To top it off, having an associate at the entrance that they ask for your receipt, but they don't even catch the mistake the cashiers made. read more

I witnessed child abuse at the hands of staff and family on 8/27/24 at 7:20pm. A little girl of approx. 6-8 years old was sobbing, screaming, calling for help, and physically struggling in the ear piercing chair. She did not want her ears pierced. A teen girl was holding her down. People who appeared to be her adult family were standing around relaxed and laughing, amused by the child's sobbing objections. The Claire's staff member was standing a bit back, holding the ear piercing gun up in the air at the ready, and was laughing alongside the adults. I was leaving the store but approached. I recognize that the law, to my knowledge, does not prevent parents from piercing their children's bodies without the child's permission, and knew that I could not stop the abuse in the ways that one could if more sociallly obvious abuse was happening. But I approached the adults and in a calm, gentle voice said: "children have autonomy over their bodies too, and they need to be able to say when they don't want something done to their bodies. They need their parents to protect them." And I walked away, thinking nothing else could be done except hopefully cause the adults to think long enough to pause. But I figured nothing else could be done. The parents yelled at me to mind my own business. I'm appalled that Claire's staff would participate in a non-voluntary body modification of a child. I'm appalled that Walmart staff and security did not intervene. The little girl was very, very loud. Many people could have intervened. Instead, Claire's and Walmart participated in child abuse. read more

Disappointed in Customer Service - Walmart Automotive Center (Kitty Hawk, Universal City, TX) We've had a very disappointing experience at the Walmart Automotive Center on Kitty Hawk in Universal City. My daughter, who is 18 years old and still learning how to manage her vehicle maintenance, went in today for a simple oil change and tire rotation. This is part of us trying to teach her independence and responsibility as a young adult. She's been to this location twice before, so her vehicle information--VIN number, services, and account--should already be on file. However, today the associate named A****a was extremely rude and unhelpful. Instead of assisting her by simply looking up her account, A****a repeatedly asked unnecessary questions and seemed annoyed when my daughter didn't know certain details like tire size offhand. Keep in mind--she's just starting out with car care, and a little patience and guidance would've gone a long way. The back-and-forth was frustrating, and it should not be this complicated to get a basic oil change and tire rotation--especially when the customer is trying to do everything the right way. The aggressive and unprofessional attitude was uncalled for. This was a missed opportunity to provide good customer service and help a young person learn, rather than discouraging them. We will be considering other automotive service locations going forward unless this can be addressed. Respect and patience should be standard, not optional. read more

I would frequent this Walmart when I lived in Converse and I must say it's gotten WAY BETTER then it was some 4 years ago. The isles are cleaner and better organized. The produce looks a little better, which is a BIG improvement from then. I shop VERY often being that I sell food and I have to go to kitty hawk HEB to shop for vegetables and herbs, because this location had such a HORRIBLE selection and what they did have was old or half dead. I guess the people over it now are on their J..O..B.. Hood to see it's gotten a revamp. Good for you kitty hawk Walzem.. Oh yeah, the picture of the pot pie tins you ask, because this is the ONLY Walmart I can find them at and I been to at least ten looking for just those tins to make my Crawfish and Shrimp Pot Pies. read more

Sometimes they have been willing to correct the price at register, today they told me that would be illegal because it is alcohol & tobacco... so correcting the price is illegal but false prices on the shelf are fine? read more

So just left went in to receive oil change , only 2 techs staffed in service department. Unable to get service was turned away cause they said they were running 2 hours behind asked to speak to supervisor of area , employees said there was not one available I asked whom I would be able to speak too employees said they didn't know who to contact . read more

I came in for an oil change,told the cashier I wanted the $24.88 one. She tells me ok and lets me know it will take 30 minutes. 40 minutes later my truck is finally getting pulled in to be worked on,then she proceeded to tell me that the only oil change available is the $44.88. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. I asked a employee for help and he refused to help me get something from the top shelf bc he wasn't clocked in ? So I had to ask another customer to help me for literally TWO SECONDS because this guy was so rude and not clocked in. He's one of the cart guys, he wasn't showing his name tag, but he has a Texas A&M hat and sunglasses. Aside from having terrible customer service this is also the worst staffed Walmart. The money transfer area is never staffed you have to stand there and hope someone decides to help or get help. The store never went back to 24hrs but shelves are scarcely stocked. Although they post hours of operation they will close at 10:30 and not allow customers in when 11 is the posted closing time. read more

Terrible service today I was refused service in the auto center supposedly because of a standard oil filter removal tool that they didn't carry and a oil filter. Now every other Walmart in state or out have the filter and I went to the next closet Walmart I was told it was a universal oil filter removal tool. I ordered a Birthday cake to be picked up the next day at 5pm, the next day at 1pm it was canceled dur to no Baker. Went to the store and the young lady said could get a cake already made. This is definitely one of the better Walmart I have been in. The store is always clean and the shelves are full and neat every time I go. The also have fuel out front and are usually one of the cheapest in the area. The store is not as busy as other Walmart stores. Even on Black Friday I had to go to get some normal household goods and I had no issue with the crowd or getting checked out. In short nice, clean, and easy in and out. read more

For the third time now I have been accused for stealing. For one I just spent over $300, got checked by a representative at the cashier, I have 4 kids and my wife with me and I get stopped at the exit being accused for stealing something. This mega store has been a center of criticism for the pay scale for the workers. But, we say fare pay for work done. Today on my limited number of times venturing into this chain monster it seemed to me, the fact many there get a check is wondrous. Slowest cashiers ever, everything is digital so why so slow? We shop at this store regularly, but often times Direct TV/ AT&T is in the electronic department hassling customers. This weekend I told this guy no thank you and he was very rude as I walked away and yelled at me saying aww you have spectrum don't you. This is ruining Walmart's customer relations. I just had an absolutely unacceptable experience. My local Walmart made sure that an off the clock employee who showed up at 6:50am was first in line for PS5 by opening the grocery door when everyone was lined up at the home entrance, I had been camping out since 11PM the prior day. I'm always polite when I have to ask where something is and I search pretty hard first but it's tough when your at a new Walmart and don't know the layout. I had 2 trays of cupcakes and thought there's no way she'll do that to cupcakes and sure enough she picked them up on their sides and just shoved it in the bag and half the cupcakes rolled together and the icing smashed together. I'm sorry but are you an idiot!? Everyone knows you hold cupcakes sideways not up and down!? And then on top of that she started scanning the next persons order after my last item even though he had a divider and he had to yell stop because she just kept going and ignored everyone that was speaking to her!? I couldn't believe it. I've never had that awful of a cashier everyone in line was shocked and 2 people left and when to another line after her and the guy behind me got into it!? I went to the manager and asked if I can exchange the cupcakes due to the cashier smashing them and no apology what so ever just had an attitude for me approaching her instead of going to the customer service exchange area which she quickly pointed to. I didn't have time to wait because I needed to prepare the other thanksgiving desserts so I just left. I know Walmart customer service sucks but I've never seen it that bad!?? So far, so good. This Walmart just opened. It's large, clean, well stocked. Funny enough, when I first walked in, I looked up and to the back of the store. It seemed larger than most Walmarts, but I could be wrong. It's hard to give a review on a Walmart, because they are basically the same (and meant to be), but this one is very nice. The parking lot is nice and large, there's a good amount of light poles, walk ways, even some plants and a little garden area with flowers in the middle of the parking lot separating the grocery and goods sides. They added a new road with a new stop light so exiting the parking lot won't be such a pain. It looks like they are still doing some work on the grassy area, meaning, it looks like a sprinkler system in a field? I'm not sure what that is exactly, but it would be cool if they were working on a garden and grassy area. My only gripe is that within the parking lot, they have those annoying squaking bird machines. I'm assuming they are to deter a ton of birds from chilling in their parking lot, but it's definitely annoying if your car is a good walk out. At least they weren't turned up extremely loud though. Would not recommend going to this Walmart. The employees are rude and the managers are worse. I had some clearance items and when i went to check out the manager treated me as if i was a thef because the prices were not correct. I tried to explain that there were several of the same items with the same prices in the clearance isle and the 'supervisor' said "uhuh" sarcastically scoffing. Absolutely disgusted by the way they treat customers and will not be returning. H-E-B is where it is at, with CORRECT pricing and wonderful employees. I've been shopping at this Walmart since it opened last summer. It is about 5 minutes further away than the one closest to my house, however, TOTALLY worth the extra few minutes! The parking lots are always clean, carts are plentiful (and not overflowing the cart return areas!) and the store inside is clean as well! The greeters have always been friendly and have never failed to say hello... which I think is just so polite! The aisles are well organized and typically fronted. Some walmarts just have product crammed haphazardly on the shelf, but not this store! It's rare to find a messy shelf. There have only been a couple of times I haven't seen a price label on the shelf for an item I was intending to purchase. The floors are clear of trash, debris, and dirt. Nearly all of the employees seem satisfied with working there, like they appreciate or maybe even enjoy their jobs. (That is not the case in sooo many other stores!). It is rare when I leave the store without something on my list, as this Walmart is well stocked. Occasionally, I will be in a check out line with a cashier that is a bit slower than I prefer... however, I am from D.C. and have not entirely adjusted to a slower pace of life LOL. Also, I used to work in a grocery store, and we'd get in trouble if we weren't scanning at least 30 items a minute... so I tend to critique the speed and bagging ability of every cashier I encounter in every store LOL. That being said, not ONE cashier has ever been rude to me, or has failed to be friendly and engage in small talk if my order was large enough to allow time. Sometimes, my daughter even gets a sticker, which lights up her face! Recently, I was in the store to pick up a photo order... I had received a text that it was ready for pick up... unfortunately, the guy working back there just could not find my order. I don't know what happened, but he immediately went to work to correct that. It took him about 15 minutes, but he completed my order and even doubled it-- and gave it to me for free, since he felt bad I had to wait. I was definitely not expecting that, but the gesture was so kind! (Management, please don't get him in trouble for that!). Spare me the lectures on "the evils of Walmart"... I think this store is doing an excellent job, and I think they have some great employees. Please keep up whatever it is that you are doing right, and I will continue to shop here for as long as I live here!!! read more
