Saturday Shopping at Aldi's didn't go as expected. I was a little disappointed that they didn't have many of the European items that they do in Germany. Aldi has won much of our business over the last few years.They have the same products as others for considerably less, Their own brands are similar to name brands for considerably less and you're in and out quickly. We believe we have saved $5000 a year since we started test shopping in 2020. read more

My husband had to go to the bathroom and did see some caution tape but saw an employee go in the bathroom, so he also went in. After coming out the cashier while checking out another customer said... " cant you read... the bathrooms out of order. My husband did say he saw the employee go in but she continued to belittle him in front of other customers. He did speak to someone who claimed to be the manager and his comment was ok .. I will take her out and beat her...... Wow.... What a great representation for Aldi's. I mean maybe we should not expect more because it's Aldi's but to actually say to a 72 year old man. Can't you read.... I am just in shock that anyone would treat another person that way. Not only that, but I think they are supposed to provide bathrooms to the public and apparently it's been a problem at this location. We all understand things happen but don't treat people so poorly. Listen, I shop here Regularly and when I say that, I mean this is our store. I've been shopping here for almost three years and this isn't a negative experience, it's a funny one. Maybe someone can explain why this was the case, but anyways. I was in self-check when i realized my boyfriend and I had both grabbed a package of cheddar brats. We only needed one, so I went to give one back instead of leaving it there. The woman regulating the self check out told me when i tried to give it back because I didn't need it said and I quote "I can't touch that. It's packaged meat." Throwing her hands up. - I guess I don't understand the big deal. It wasn't open, ruined, or anything. I simply just didn't mean to grab two. Thought it was a little ridiculous. read more

Horrible customer service. I was just shamed and embarrassed by the checkout lady for bagging my 2 bags of groceries too slowly for her. She essentially told me that I should have gotten a cart if I wasn't going to bag fast enough for her. It is not my fault that the store does not have enough people to do checkout nor is it up to me to make sure that you meet your speed checkout benchmarks. I am 8 months pregnant, had a toddler in tow, and had just come back to the register after having to go back to the produce section to get a new package of blueberries to replace the package that had mold all over it!!! There is no policy anywhere that a customer has to rush to bag their groceries. I can't even imagine how someone who is handicap is treated at this store. read more

I love everything about this Aldi location. From the big parking lot to the employees. Unfortunately they use way too much plastic when packaging their produce. Which is weird considering they don't use those annoying single use shopping bags. I love all of the gluten free options Aldi offers, it really helps me enjoy some of my favorite snacks. I also really appreciate their specialty cheese selection. COVID has made me a big charcuterie person and Aldi keeps me stocked. Depending on when you go, there might be a pretty long line but they move fast. I think speed check out is part of their training. If you plan to get a lot of things, grab a cart. The checkout clerk will get annoyed if you try to take their cart, understandable. Make sure you check the weekly fliers for the specialities, they usually have some pretty good finds! read more

Good location, lots of products, but I feel like every time I've been there, it's crazy inside. Always looks like it's either stocking day or buy-one-get-seventeen-free day. Good prices on staples like cheese, milk, meats. Good selection of snacks. Never bought any, but there's even wine and beer. Good selection of Aldi-branded gluten-free products both in frozen section and in pre-packaged items. Granola, cereal, bread, pizzas, baking mixes, cookies, etc. One of my favorite products is their flavored sparkling water - not bad at around $.50-$.60 each. Bring a quarter for the carts, or a reusable shopping bag and weave your way in and out of the aisles like a pro. read more

Pros: convenient location, nice buggies (due to quarter return system), lower prices, good selection of basics and interesting specials, increasingly good selection of simply nature products, relatively small footprint, making it easy to shop and find things, and once again, excellent lower price structure. Friendly quick cashiering. Cons: not enough parking, even after renovation. Unused cashier lines - too often a dozen or more people in line behind the one or two stations open. Often out of standard items. Too many multi packaged goods - can't buy one or two lemons, kiwis, etc.,. Friendly, quick cashiers too often throw goods in baskets, even fruit! Summary - 4 stars because of location, size, selection and low cost! read more

I like several of their unique goodies, including their nuts, their Swiss chocolates, and of course their produce. But yesterday I had to get a loaf of bread taken off my ticket because I bought one and the sneaky AI machine charged me for two. Then I went back to the tomato display to try and understand why I had been overcharged by almost a dollar: A sharp practices kind of a guy had put the tomatoes on stems on top of the tomatoes that were on sale, so they were obscured. That was slick, but dishonest. I looked for a manager or an employee to squall to, but was in such a hurry and so I left without getting a refund. Aldi, btw, is owned by Europeans, mostly Germans, who also own Trader Joe's. All the grocery stores in this vicinity engage in scanner fraud, but Aldi is quite sneaky about it. I haven't noticed anything shady yet at Trader Joe's. I have learned to always check my sales slip. read more

Excellent groceries and options, superb produce selection and lots of fun seasonal things. Not to mention, I can fill an ENTIRE cart with everything I need and stay under $100 including feminine products and soaps etc. The requirement of bringing your own bags is good for the conscious and makes me feel like I'm doing my little part to be more environmentally aware. I gave four stars because I've definitely tried to 'run in for a few things' and they only have one cash register open and about 10 people in line. It seems to be a consistent issue, BUT if it means I can save lots of money, so be it. read more

A surprisingly large array of organic food (not like Earth Fare, but it's a whole lot cheaper). Organic produce (limited), eggs, almond milk, butter, hummus, granola, etc. And I really like the people who work there. That makes a big difference to me. read more

I love Aldi. I seriously don't even understand how anyone grocery shops elsewhere. Aldi has super friendly workers (probably because they are getting paid a living wage) and low prices. Aldi is great because it is a small grocery store that still have tons of selection choices on all types of groceries. Over the past couple of years, they have really continued to get better and better choices. They carry a lot of gluten free and organic products. The produce is usually pretty good. They always have a nice selection of the basics (for me) such as potatoes, broccoli, carrots, bell peppers, cabbage, mixed greens, apples. They also have a nice meat selection ranging from lunch meat slices to pork tenderloin to ground beef. I always leave here super happy about the huge amount of groceries that I am taking home for the price that I paid. For the same price at Ingles, I would take home at least half as much food. The groceries are left in their shipping boxes at the store instead of having people spend time unpacking them. I really appreciate that because it allows Aldi to pay better and because people use the boxes to take home groceries in rather than wasting more grocery bags. This is my number one grocery store. read more

I was pleased with prices, especially the produce with a huge variety. that is good part. not so good is there are no benches for a tired soul to sit and rest. its a big store. NOt one employee or even a shopper, stopped to see if I was ok. My driver came in looking for me, I should have been ready to go, far from it. I looked like a crippled person that should have been seated. One more suggestion to help us disabled persons have ride-a-round carts for us to use. othe than that, the store is fine, and ABIGGG! . I always have a great experience when shopping here. Their prices are unbeatable. They have a great selection of organic products. I do the majority of my business with Aldi and Trader Joe's. Today I was treated incredibly rudely by not one but two cashiers. I had never seen either one before and I know most faces in there. I left feeling really down and discouraged. I won't let one negative experience defer me from going back but if it does I can always drive the extra 10 minutes to the West Asheville location. read more

I was introduced to Aldi's by my knowledgeable dau-in-law in Spartanburg, S.C.. It has been my very favorite store since 2006! From walnuts to watermelons, I've never been disappointed by the food quality, efficient/friendlyhelpful staff, OR location/convenience! SO looking forward to shopping at our NEW Aldi's on Swannanoa River Road in Asheville! A HUGE plus is; Being able to say "God Bless" without being arrested or ostracized! I love coming to this location, unfortunately yesterday was a huge exception. The store always looks good, and that was still a factor, but the customer service was nowhere to be found. Upon entering the store, we could almost immediately hear the cashier snapping at a stocker to put some chicken away "right that second", even the woman who was checking out tried to diffuse the attitude by being super sweet to the stocker. We go about the rest of our shopping and get to the line, and that's where we meet Amber, the cashier. Amber didn't bother to make small talk, instead, giving me dirty looks and literally throwing all of our food into the cart without even looking. We go to move our cart and she snaps at my girlfriend to move the other (empty) cart next to her for the next customer. I was thinking at this point, she had to have had some crappy day or something.. Then I hear her deal with the next two customers and she sounds like a completely different Amber than we just met. Small talking, thanking them, saying her job is "easier" because they didn't need a cart. How hard is it to get a cart? How hard would it have been to be nice to 3 out of 3 people instead of just 2? We actually left wondering what we'd done wrong to cause her attitude issue and I don't want to jump the gun but I do know, it's either because we are a lesbian couple (none of her business), because of our snack foods (none of her business) or because we are a tad overweight (also, none of her business).
