This is the most clean and organized Wal*Mart I have ever gone to. Everything makes sense, and isn't in shambles, EVEN during Christmas season, which is a shock. It's easy to get in and out, as there's a light onto the road, and easy on/off from 146. Pick up service is STILL top notch. The best. I LOVE IT. The employees here are just awesome. Friendly, helpful, so quick to bring out orders even when they are SO SO busy. In store? OMG. Awful. There are some really, really lovely employees so I don't mean to knock them all. But wow. If you aren't opening ANY self check-out lanes on one side, then CLOSE that entrance for folks. Otherwise, you have people waiting in self-check out on both sides of the registers and NO ONE lets the "closed" side go. WHY can't they figure this out? Why? Just close that entrance! If you need pricing help? Nightmare. Literally, no one cares there. Our experience(s) were with employees that move with the urgency of a turkey crossing the road. Brutally slow, effortless, completely apathetic. Customer service did not know the full name of the store manager because "he was new." So no idea. Interesting that they literally had no clue who their manager was. BUT. The bright spot of this store is their pick-up service (and shopper service). Very, very big bright spot and what keeps me coming back week after week. My spend at Walmart has probably quadrupled as I've moved my spending from Target to Walmart almost exclusively thanks to their great service at this location. But I guarantee I'd spend more there if I shopped in store because I am most definitely an impulse buyer. But going IN the store and checking out is SO SO bad that I just avoid it as often as I can. read more

I've avoided Walmart for years, in large part because of their treatment of their employees. However, I needed a butane fuel canister for a camping stove, and they came up prominently in a Google search. Many stores do not appear to stock these, and some do not ship them. Walmart's website said they had plenty in stock, and they are only a few minutes away. So I headed out to their "supercenter", to pick up a few. When I arrived, I wandered over to camping, found the fuel section, but could not find the item needed. I was finally able to find an employee to ask for assistance. He said they were out of stock, but the online purchasing and inventory is "completely separate from retail". A short time later I returned home, went back online, found the butane which said it was in stock and available for purchase, and that I'd be able to pick it up within a few hours! I created an account and placed the order. A few hours later, I received a text which said... OUT OF STOCK - ORDER CANCELLED. This was my first experience with Walmart in over 15 years, I'll try to wait at least another 15 years before trying them again! I travelled to this Walmart this morning with the INTENTIONS of buying a new battery for my car. Not being able to find a chart in the battery section that would tell me which battery would fit my car I went on a search to find an "associate" who might assist me. That in itself is a frustrating exercise in futility! I finally cornered one (most of them run the other way if they sense you might need help!). The "procedure" to find out which battery will fit my vehicle, according to the young man I spoke with, is to scan the "QR code" on the battery, then go to your computer, get on the Walmart site, and then learn which battery will fit your car! I thought that he must be kidding me! I've never heard of anything so RIDICULOUS in my life (and at 75 I've been on this planet for quite a few years & have witnessed quite a number of foolish, idiotic practices! ) This one is at the top of the list & receives high marks for sheer absurdity!!!!! In other words, one would need to scan about 20+ different batteries on display in the store, then spend who knows how long on your computer to see which one will fit your vehicle! Unbelievable!!!!!!!!! Nothing like turning something that SHOULD be simple into an infinitely complicated, time-consuming hassle! Whoever was the "rocket scientist" that conjured up this foolish scheme should be terminated immediately! I therefore don't find it surprising that so many people HATE Walmart. Very tired of this store not having what we need on the shelf. Walmart.com states that this store has it and shows what aisle it is in. However, you go to the store and the shelf is totally empty. How this store is managing I have no idea. They have no cashiers; you go through self checkout. There are days when the shelves are empty (we are post Covid by over a year.) This is the way it was during Covid. The customer still needs what they went out to buy! Get it on the shelf. Hire the people to stock the shelves. I think the next time that this happens, I will leave everything in my carriage and walk out of the store and go elsewhere (it won't be a Walmart store) and get everything. Staff are always very friendly and willing to show you things that you may not know about. Prices for the most part are very competitive with other stores, although milk is more expensive then another store. They have a lot of store brand products available which is a great way to save a little extra money. The meats are a very good value! This is the second time I've done a big food shop here, and I am very happy how much product I got for the cost! Our cashier was a sweet heart and very fast! Nicely done Walmart! read more

Just when I thought I couldn't think any less of the Walmart employee, someone has to set a new low. I was here yesterday, mid Sunday morning. I have no problem with how busy it was, I pretty much expected it. I walked up to the deli counter, grabbed a number and waited with the crowd to be called so I could get some cold cuts. Even though Walmart has some,pretty good deals, staff at certain departments are not so sastifactory. On March 3rd, I bought an SD card for ten dollars with self check out. Today, I've asked a staff member to open this and showed him the receipt to prove I bought the item. He told me he can't because I bought it weeks ago. The man said he'll take it back. I decided to refund it, but the lady at the customer service desk told me that I didn't buy it even I had the receipt with me. Even though ten dollars wasn't much, the system is pretty broken. It's really your typical giant Wal-Mart: almost always busy, dusty corners, messy parking lot. I do want to point out that the fruits and vegetables are horrendous even during the summer. I actually enjoy Walmart and I usually don't look for staff that is trained in the department that they work. I am sorry to say; because I frequently shop Walmart due to price and location I was deeply disappointed with the Electronics Department. I went to look at a laptop slash tablet type computer for a Christmas present and found only 3 computers running at their display. The rest of the laptops were off. I asked an associate how to turn them on and both associates had no idea. I asked for a manager, I think his name is Jim, listened and tried to help me and he was unable to get them running too. He was helpful in getting the specifications. Jim was kind; courteous; helpful; and best of all honest about the disaster. My second try at the Electronics Department was to actually look at an Apple Ipad Airport Air 2 and the smaller version Apple Ipad mini. Now, I am not kidding, the display didn't have any Apple Ipads. The display looked like a waste of space and my time too. I needed to look at the mini to see if the mini display was clear and big enough for my old man eyes. So, I asked for the manager again and there seems to be a problem and an other man who didn't even identify himself was rude by whispering to whom I believed was Jim. Since, I wasn't able to literally see the product functioning. I left the store thinking, how could the manager of the Electronics department allow his/her department be so dysfunctional? Now at home, they lost sales and now I am going on-line to Amazon and just wait for the products to arrive, no instant gratification here, of 2 more presents wrapped under our Merry Christmas tree. I want to know why the management of Walmart's Super Store would allow its Electronic's Department to exist in its very poor costly dysfunctional configuration? A typical Walmart selection but the service is lacking. Once, I called during a big snowstorm to see if they had any shovels left. It rang for a few minutes before anyone picked up (no big deal, probably busy) and I asked her about shovels. She was nice and transferred me to "that department". Here, it rang for about 5 minutes. Finally, someone answered! But it was the same lady. I ask for shovels again. And she replies with "no one answered? Hold on" and puts me on hold. I was on hold for about 5 minutes before I gave up and hung up the phone. Really? The service desk should have tabs on whether or not they have shovels when over a foot of snow is expected. Couldn't believe when I went here last time the boy who brought my grocery's to my car for pick up had no gloves on, and no mask on!!! There needs to be some regulations in place for workers. I do pick-up during covid for a reason. Also when I got home, the 4 wheeler I bought for my daughter was the cheaper model then what I paid for and it was broken and had missing parts. When I emailed I got told I could bring it in the store for a return. But I'm not going in stores- that's why I did pick up. On Monday 12/28/20, I was shopping at this location and using the self-checkout. After scanning about six items, the customer service representative Brenda, approached me rather abruptly. She yelled "hold on" and started loudly counting the items I had scanned and made sure they matched the items on the screen. Brenda completely disregarded safety guidelines and protocols outlined by the DPH. When she approached me, she moved in so close her arm and hands touched mine. Confused, I stepped back and said "what's going on?" Brenda laughed, finished counting my items and stepped away. I stated "if you need to check my order again, you need to give me a warning so I can step away. You should not be that close to me". Once again, Brenda laughed. At this point, we asked to speak with a manager. The customer service manager, Cindy, did absolutely nothing to address the situation. She walked over and said something to Brenda but failed to acknowledge me and my concerns. I asked Cindy for the number to file a customer complaint and she sent me to the customer service desk. Note: Christmas was last week and there were about 10 customers waiting in line for returns. After a few minutes, I left without the number and looked it up online. I find it strange that the CUSTOMER SERVICE MANAGER does not know the number for Walmart customer service. Especially, when the number is 1-800-WALMART.... I have tried calling the store and the corporate customer service line several times. Management at the Whitinsville store has done very little to address the situation and help me understand why Brenda felt the need to invade my personal space, yell and loudly count the items I had scanned without explanation. The Walmart customer service line said I should hear back from the market manager in 3-5 business days. So, I will be waiting for some answers. Why did Brenda feel the need to invade my personal space in the middle of a pandemic? Why did Brenda feel the need to yell and loudly count my scanned items? I will NEVER EVER buy Deli Meat from them again... I went to go pick up some bologna and it was a young kid taking my order. Once the person was done and weighing my bologna there was a fly and it SAT on my bologna and the kid was gonna wrap it up and give it to me and asked if i was all set! This Walmart is my favorite one around! The store is always clean and shelves well stocked. The food section is great but I with the produce department was better the products aren't always as fresh as I prefer. I recently discovered the hot food bar and I highly recommend it for a quick bite or an easy lunch spot if you work in the area. Another nice thing is when you need help in sporting goods 8 out of 10 times there's someone very close. Check out is always easy and fast. read more

Never had a problem with them. My insurance for prescription eyeglasses was handled properly. The produce line is plentiful and if you know how to choose fruits and vegetables you will do fine. You can't beat the prices on electronics, hardware, home goods,lawn and garden, health and beauty items. I have been a customer since the smaller Walmart on Providence Rd and never had a problem returning anything. The hours are 6 AM to Midnight and the lot is well lit and security cameras provide for a safe trip. I like this Super Walmart better than the newer one in Worcester which has more of a warehouse feel to it. Having it just a 10 minute ride for me makes it a sure bet. Just wish they would put a Dunkin Donuts in it. read more
