This is a really nice store! Got a cute bikini and cover up, plus a few food items. They didn't have a woodforeest bank in there which is what I came for, but still scored! Clean, bright, laid out nicely. Only thing my cashier was on her phone talking to her friend with her EarPods in, the whole transaction. That's pretty unprofessional! The Walmart in Porters Neck in Wilmington NC has gone down hill completely ...nobody in the sporting goods department knows what they are doing at all and the one lead that dept was let go and now it has gone to crap!! It is the most disorganized store and the store manager Matt is worthless!!!! If you want to run a successful store, you have to stand behind your people and not set them up for failure! Worst store management I have seen in a long, long, long time! Shame on you for letting hard working veterans go due to the store managers dislike for that one person! Disgusting!!! It has EVERYTHING a person could possibly need. Prices are very good too. Salespeople are very helpful in helping you find your items.

It's only going to get so many stars because after all...ot is a wal-mart. But this location is about as good as a wal-mart can get. It is kept very clean, it's the largest in the state, and it is open 24 hours. I will also give them props for having surprising good produce lately. All of their fruits and vegetables have been not just wal-mart good, but legitimately good. My main issues with this spot is that they 1) are very often understaffed at certain later hours, which can make it a nightmare to check out, and 2) they have a tendency to not have a lot of different items in stick. But other than that I don't have any complaints about this wal-mart location. It's better than most. read more

Stopped in to grab a few things. This Walmart is HUGE!! I swear, it's double the size of the Supercenter in my town. Which can be both awesome and a hassle depending. Grabbing a few items on opposite sides of the store would be a pain. Shelves weren't well stocked. A few items I needed were out. (Supply chain issues??) The boys toys aisle was also disappointing. Used a self checkout which was quick and easy. Store appeared clean. Overall, pretty average. read more

When this Walmart first opened it was the only one that I would do to in the area. I'm the past years it has declined a lot. Today, I was extremely disappointed in pick up. I ordered my groceries online yesterday morning for the 10-11 time slot. I planned my day around it. So, when I pull in at 10am and they tell me it is going to be 2 hours behind I was alittle upset. Nonetheless, I changed up what I was doing to come back again and checked in early and everything. I still had to wait a long time to get my order. I would have shopped for it on my own if I knew this was how it worked. No communication or anything. Customer service was less than par, too. read more

Attempted to get an ink cartridge for my printer since was getting other items decided to get the cartridge at this WM instead of an office supply outlet hoping to save time. Asked employe where the ink cartridges are located, received a mumbled reply, asked again stating that I did not understand what they said and got a halfhearted wave of hand and reply "over in that direction"; asked again where exactly and reply was "the aisle where the green shelf is", I went in the direction that was pointed to looking for a "green shelf" only to find not a green shelf but a product display the had green on it. Finally found the section, located the item. Of course the section was eclosed and locked, which is not an issue especially with the cost factor. I when back to the offic supply counter and asked if the person had a key. The reply was that the person did not which was ok. The irritating issue was the person did not even attempt to say that they would contact someone that did have a key to unlock the enclosed section, they just acted blasey and continued doing whatever they were doing. I said that I would go elsewhere, and of course they had no drive to help. This used to be my favorite WM to visit but of late far from it. read more

Stopped here to pick up a few grocery items. They usually have great prices and nice looking produce . And sometimes they don't , it's like any other grocery store. Today I saw corn on the cob , yes and it is December and it looked great . I picked out two ears - it looked fresh picked . Grabbed a container of coffee and left . Got it home - it was superb corn . Only 4 self checkout machines available, the rest were out of commission (red light showing) or not turned on (no lights). Ridiculous. Properly Train your staff the same way All Across The Board 2. Implement policies and procedures 3. Create incentives 4. Management follow through with all of the above 5. Hold ALL employees accountable, management included 6. Pay your employees well that work, those that don't shouldn't be on the team. Went to buy a 100 bottles of alcohol for .98 as advertised below. When going to the self-checkout it was ringing up 3.98. The staff at Walmart were all very nice but were unable to honor the price and made us wait over 30 minutes for a "coach." When the "coach arrived," she asked the other representative about the situation. I went to show the picture below, with the price at .98 per bottle and she stated, "You don't need to put that in my face." Instead of honoring the price she said we could have 1 at .98. Needless to say, I left the store. Please beware of that Walmart because the management obviously isn't concerned at making things right and will be rude about it in the process. read more

What is going on with NOT stocking shelves ? Came to Porters Neck because sigma road stinks. And unorganized and come up here the day after MLK and No milk in the cooler, no crackers, no bagels, no cream cheese . No lunch meats what so ever. The freezer section is awful . This is a sad day when the biggest Walmart ever can't stock it shelves. And the crappy Walmart in the city of Wilmington has you beat. I have never ever been so disappointed ever But we can all the valentines & St Patrick days stuff out. Management what are you doing? Sitting on you butt? Where is your food? Customers need the product not to sitting in the coolers we need to feel out kitchens cabinets! I am busy busting my but at work putting over 15 miles on my feet to feel my shelves to my my customers happy a week and that is just doing BOOKS what the heck is your excuse? I put over 30k of steps in and I am part part time and I still managed to do my job and make people happy a job well done! WARNING! So I left a bag at the self checkout tonight between 5-6pm. I only had one cold thing so I left the other bags sitting while I ate dinner. Around 9 I emptied my other bags only to discover I left a bag at the checkout. I called the store and spoke with a Jasmine Stern(?) who said if you leave anything they wait "maybe" an hour or so and then sell it or throw it away. Now I know it's my fault for leaving a bag but as much money as I and a ton of other people, spend at Walmart it occurs to me that the customer would get a little more grace than that. I asked for a manager and Jasmine said she'd go look for my bag. She was away from the phone for at least 30 whole seconds...(she answered the phone in electronics!!) and came back and said if I bring in my receipt they would replace my items. We've been here several times for various reasons. The store itself is typically clean and the employees are generally pleasant and welcoming. It is a rather large store that pretty much has everything you could need in one stop. The prices are comparable and competitive, if not better, than other stores in the area. You also get to see the crazy Walmartians that frequent this establishment and grace the website people of Walmart. We'll continue to shop here for the variety, prices, and of course the entertainment! read more

Automotive department - Went here to have my oil changed, first in line and I was in there for 90 minutes, guy comes out and says hey someone stripped your bolts out on your skid plate and we cannot take it out. I explained that they were the last ones to change the oil. After confirming this they still refused the oil change after 90 minutes and not taking ownership of stripping the bolts. I went to Green Meadows garage and was in and out in 15 minutes, guess what you do not have to remove the skid plate to change the oil. Last time I had my oil changed at Walmart they didn't tighten the oil casing bolt and I was two quarts low after about a 10 minute drive home. read more

Go in to buy some saltwater fishing tackle and find the fishing department is less than 50% stocked. Heard a guy on his cell phone telling someone that he asked a guy working there why they were out of almost everything and he said they had not gotten any stock in almost a month! And it was like this in both Wrightsville Beach Walmarts. And its the same in any Walmart you go into. Once an item is gone from the shelf, its months before it shows back up again. Its getting to the point that I walk out with 50% or less of what I came in for because Walmart is so poorly stocked all the time. Do Walmarts only get a stock truck twice a year??? Went to Ace Island Hardware and Tackle in Carolina Beach and found what I wanted because they had a large, FULLY STOCKED saltwater tackle department at prices not much more than Walmart. I would rather buy from a locally owned family business and pay a little more and avoid the aggravation and waste of my time going to Walmart only to find they never have in stock what I want any more. read more

I've seen employees ignoring customers and talking about their sexual habits and tonight I saw an employee sell a customer 21+ items without carding them. Wal-Mart Grocery Pick-up is absolutely the best! No extra fees or surcharges, but you do need a minimum order of $30. It used to be $35, but now I noticed they reduced it! So quick and easy. Download the app, all week long I plug in what I need in my kitchen or other home supplies (it's not limited to groceries) like bags of salt for the water softener ... who wants to lug those around?! Then check-out and choose the day and time for pick-up. It's that easy! I almost forgot about the pick-up one time, and they called me about 1.5 hrs before they close up the service. Now that's gold-star service! You don't need to arrive at the time you choose either; I've been 2-3 hrs late and they have always been so nice and cheery! The only time I had an issue was my gallon size milk had a broken cap-- didn't notice it until I got home, which was frustrating because it leaked in the cargo area of my vehicle. Problem solved! Just ask the rep to tip the milk to ensure nothing pours out before you drive off. (I did return to the store and they didn't even ask for my receipt- just told me to get a new milk). They also will show you the produce before they load it into your car... for freshness (I've never felt like I needed to inspect that) and hand you the bread and eggs for safety- now that is good service. I don't even get out of the car. If they don't carry any item, they will upgrade you! So be sure to allow for substitutions when you use the app! Sweet deal and love my Wal-Mart pick-up. I was in the store today and was ready to check out. There was just one register open and she was getting ready to close. I ask her if there was any other register open and she said she didn't know. I did not want to use the self checkout cause I had a lot of items and my back was killing me at the time. They did not try to get anyone to open a register so I walked out. When I got home, I called the store and ask to speak to the store manager, she switched me to customer service and after 10 min of the phone ringing, someone finally answer the phone. I told the girl I wanted to talk to the store manager, she did not give me a chance to tell what I was complaining about, and just hung up the phone. I called back and she answered the phone again and ask her to speak to the store manager. She said that there was no store manager in the store at that time, in fact no manager was there that other managers for other departments were on lunch. Said that she could have them to call me back tomorrow and I said that it would not help to call me back then that I needed to talk to someone now. She said that I could call corporate office so I did. I got a recording and ask what store i was calling about and I told it. It went through the same thing about what store I wanted 3 times and never talked to anyone from corporate office. I feel that I was getting the runaround and service was not served. Walmart talks about friendly service but that can't be so when there isn't anyone there to service you. I feel that I was just pushed to the side and did not try to help me with my problem. I don't understand how a store as big as this one can be runner like it does. You need to have a manager at the store at all times just for problems like this. The person that was ahead of the cashiers wasn't not there either. How can they do this line of work with no one to point out a problems with a customer. It's customers like me that buy your stuff and puts money in their pockets. But if they don't care then I can go someplace else. read more

I like using this Walmart for my online order and store pickups, their "carvana-like" pickup machine is just too cool.

First of all, I had a great experience with the pharmacy at this Walmart. But if you are shopping for electronics or anything that you need actual sales assistance with, this Walmart, like many other Walmarts, wont care. I waited an unusually long time in their electronics dept, while FIVE (5) employees stood nearby or walked by, ALL AVERTING THEIR EYES SO THAT THEY WOULD NOT MAKE EYE CONTACT WITH ME. I'm extremely irritated right now and told the Manager on Duty at the Wal-Mart in Porter's Neck in Wilmington, NC, Blake, that I would spread this message on social media. While I understand not wanting to take back perishable food purchaed in preparation for Hurricane Dorian, all I wanted to return today was four unopened cases of Dasani water. The receipt for the water was present buy all Blake would tell me is that his store manager had made the decision to disallow the return of any food items at all. Why does a large company like this want to lose a customer over less than $20 worth of merchandise? We don't typically drink bottled water in our house which makes this a bit of a waste. It's not going to break the bank, but is extremely irritating when there isn't any common sense used. read more

I want to preface this review by saying how much I hate this business and what it stands for politically. Let's face it, they pay their employee's shit and make tons of money doing so that being said it's cheap so many people like myself are forced to shop here. I actually dread going to shop at any Walmart because they are so big, poorly organized, and the staff makes it known that they are not paid enough to help you. Anyway I just moved to Ogden last month and I am already loving the new neighborhood. The Walmart here is new as of 2016 and it is wonderful. Not only is it close to my house but there is a traffic light at the intersection and the parking lot is small but just big enough for the size of the store. Yes, it's still a super center but seems to be scaled down. The first time I shopped here was early evening on a Friday and I was shocked to find multiple empty parking spots right in front of the store. Instead was also surprisingly empty except for employees. I had a long list of stuff to purchase for the new house and was in and out in less than an hour. If I had gone to the other location on market maybe a mile more away this shopping trip would have easily taken an additional hour. While I was shopping I asked multiple employees to help me find an item and instead of pointing in ambiguous direction they all walked with me to help me find the item. Not kidding! At the other Walmart you have to play hide and seek when trying to get help and I am sure the employees have selective hearing. I have been back twice since and they parking is amazing, as well as the customer service and quick check out lines. Even if you don't live in Ogden this is the Walmart you should be shopping at. I almost didn't want to post this review because I don't want others to find out how amazing this new location is. read more

Wandering around the store trying to find birdseed and a feeder. Finally after running up and down many aisles in the garden center I asked a young blonde guy in uniform for help. He looked annoyed since I interrupted his text messaging and then told me he had no idea where it was. Useless, if he worked for me he wouldn't be there tomorrow. I then headed to the Walmart on Market St. to try again. Entered through the garden center and quickly found my seed and a feeder. I go to check out and the guy can't figure out how to use the register and starts telling people sorry guess you'll have to go upfront. Left the stuff on the counter and left. Not worth a 3 block walk to the register to get in a long !ss line for some other useless employee to ruin my day. Doing a good job. Love the parking lot. Overall, a good selection of goods. Please add organic butter and cheese. Relook at seafood frozen area for winter season. Add more frozen seafood and remove the breaded seafood. The cabinet is empty of shrimp and fish most days. We look for deveined and peeled in shrimp in off season and frozen fish.
