There was an attendant there talking to another behind the next cash, which was closed, as indicated by the red light. When I went to start unbagging my groceries, I was told to go to the self checkout, which was swamped. I told the cashier that I didn't want to wait in that long line for the few things I had, and that I don't work for free. I was then again told that they were closing (which doesn't happen until 11pm, over an hour later.), and that I should go to the self checkout if I wanted my groceries. Staying as calm as I could, I explained to the cashier that there should be at least one checkout lane open as long as the store is open, and I received a pair of blank stares from both cashiers. So I dumped my groceries out in the checkout lane and left. I'm no Karen to go asking to talk to the manager, and it took a great deal of restraint not to just walk out with my groceries to make my point. I rarely visit this location due to it's terrible service, and I will not be back unless they have one hell of a sale on something I need.

I brought it to Canadian Tire Appleby location and was told that this remanufactured alternator often fails and it put pressure on the belt and it caused a leak on the water pump. I had to spend $411 for an ungraded alternator, belt and a new water pump. I called Canadian Tire Fairview for compensation. They basically did nothing. Don't visit Canadian Tire Fairview. Now, I am not a brand junkie or anything, but I've personally found that name brand clothing (like Guess jeans, for example) just FIT better, last longer, and are just higher quality. So if I can get a $120 pair of Guess jeans for $15, not only will I, but I'll will be forced to restrain myself from jumping up and down in the store. Not everything is worth the price tag, but some (if not most) are, and it's absolutely worth a moment of your time to stop in and browse. The only other thing I have to add is that every Winners has mostly the same selection, but some have things the others do not. However, what's annoyed me is that since their renovations last year, they now have 3 floors and men's clothes are on both the 2nd and 3rd floor so you have to search both floors before you find a good deal. It's a bit of a pain in the butt, but I understand from a business perspective why they are doing it (give customers exposure to other areas of the store and take advantage of impulse buyers).
