I ordered 2 popup beach cabana's, which were different sizes so I could check them out. They send me two of the exact same cabanas in different colors, but smaller than the ones I ordered. I called their 800 number and tried to explain to the Indian outsourced center that they weren't the correct size and after a bit of discussion they finally grasped that they were the wrong items. They claimed to have found the right ones (confirmed stated sized on the listings) and told me they would send out the replacement and gave me return labels for the first ones. I was told that I would receive the replacement in 5 days and it wasn't tied to the return. When the replacements didn't come I called back and was not informed that I needed to return the originals first. There is no reason to do this as there are multiple ways to handle this, but this was now what I was told. I explained that they were summer season items and it was now 3 weeks into the summer and I still don't have what I ordered and was unhappy that it would take another couple of weeks for them to get the items back and then resent replacements. I was told "not to worry" as soon as the returns were scanned by the carrier the replacements would be sent. I returned the original cabanas are required and waited to hear back as to status of the replacements. After a week of not hearing anything I called back again and they had to look into it and found out they received the originals days earlier and no one seemed to understand a replacement need to be sent. They then processed the replacements and I received emails confirming. Days later I received the replacements -- the exact same ones I returned and not what I ordered. I tried to get the US HQ phone number and could not. They don't publish any other number than their 800 number and the Indians that answer that cannot do anything other than what the script tells them and then apologize for the company. If a company views their customers simply as a pile of cash to take from then I don't think they deserve to remain in business. For those who have not options, let me give you a BIG Walmart apology, you're screwed. For the rest of us we need to put Walmart on the bottom of the list and cut the list above them. Yelp-optimizedI paid extra for expedited delivery because we were moving at midnight and needed the items right away. The tracking showed the driver was almost at our house. Then suddenly--after the delivery window had already passed--the status changed to "delivery attempted - failed." No one came to the door and no delivery attempt was made. I contacted customer service through chat and later by phone. The representatives I spoke with were Reginne (chat) and Liz (phone). The first solution offered was a refund in 10 business days. When I explained that I paid with a gift card, they said the refund could take 3 business days instead. The problem is that I needed the items that night, not days later. What made the situation even more frustrating: if I placed a new order, the website showed the same items could arrive in about 30 minutes. When I pointed this out, the representative suggested that I could place another order--which meant paying again for the same items. So the end result was: * I paid for expedited delivery * No delivery attempt was made * The only solutions offered were wait for a refund or pay again Unfortunately, this experience makes Walmart delivery difficult to rely on. I've had far more consistent experiences with Target, Amazon, and other delivery services. read more

They are violating NJ State law by no longer clearly displaying prices. By law, all retail store prices need to be clearly displayed. They are removing price tags and want you to check their phone app for the prices (so they can jack up prices in seconds). Totally illegal! For one reason and one reason only (for the sole sake of this review) - Patti Labelle's southern peach cobbler *with extra crust*!!!!! Yes, this review is brought to you solely by the prompting and utter satisfaction of my happy dancing taste buds. No, i have no tried all or even most of her coveted desserts - however, i did try the regular peach cobbler when it hit shelves years ago. And it was good. Decent, not bad for a store bought dessert. But listen. The crust being KING (in my mouth) anyway, to have the brilliance idea of making it w/extra crust is chef's kiss. And it delivers in every spoonful (i eat my desserts with a spoon, problem?! lol). Extra crust indeed!! I will readily admit i was skeptical, but i guess not enough to walk by in the store. Lol. Place was clean, yet although open, nobody around to really help. Asked for help for q game purchase and was told by another employee that I had to wait, who knows how long since the person working was looking for something. Meanwhile the other employee there didn't even bother to look up and offer to assist. While checking out, only one self check out was open and had a HUGE spill but somehow, nobody seen it. So it was just there..another self checkout opened and qas able to scan my items. As we were walking out, was asked for my receipt, as usual, however, one employee gave it to another, which then had to wait for a supervisor / manager I'm not really sure what he was, to show him my receipt. I guess two carts was too much, even though one of the carts had only a TV in it. The gentleman looked it over, and told us to have a great night. Overall experience, was horrible as far as to customer service, no one willing to help you, and even make you wait, just because it's not their "section". On our way out, I realize that one of the doors was cracked, so they literally put tape, blue tape for that matter, on the glass door. Such a horrible experience.. read more

Came here to find storage containers to help organize things at home. For selection it was easy to find the containers in home appliances and the shelves seemed well stocked with different sizes. The prices were decent as well. For a 58 gallon container it was $7.83. Will definitely go back to stock up on these again as needed. read more

Eric in customer service needs to be retrained. I went to him with a return for my mother. I explained that she didn't want that item but wanted something different. Since I was running the errand for her she asked me to get a store credit and use that to purchase the new thing she wanted. He said no problem and asked where I bought the item. I answered but then asked if he saw the location on the receipt. He said he was asking me to quiz me because I was suspicious.... Now I worked in retail for 9 years and knew within the first day of working that you never tell a customer they are suspicious.. even if they are, there is a certain protocol to follow. Even after all of that he stupidly refunded my mother. I asked where the store credit was and he said the register didn't give him the option. He called over the manager and they both just said yea oops. I know they could have fixed it but they probably thought I was trying to get the funds and somehow have a stolen item and its receipt. I took the loss and said ok fine. But it's Walmart that really took the loss today because instead of getting the new item for my mom, I left. Walmart only lost money today from my return because of Eric wanting to be confrontational for no reason. Walmarts are normally unfortunately weighed by reputation, and this one managed to live up to that reputation. First there's only one major entrance and exit unlike most Walmarts where you have two, the order pickup is in the back corner of the store, and compounding that problem is that the pick up group only works until 8:00 p.m., even though the rest of the store is open beyond that. Inside, when I'm looking through the shelves, often boxes are damaged or pre-opened, which makes me less likely to buy anything even for a cheaper price. Want to get it delivered to your car? Online orders can be picked up from the zone just to the west of the entrance, even though it's not well labeled. Calling the number, no one picked up and it went to a voicemail box that wasn't set up. However someone managed to call me back right after I changed parking spots in order to go in to pick up what I was going to pick up, and they eventually got it out to me to the right parking bay. The person who was talking on the phone didn't really talk clearly, but fortunately they brought out the right item. read more

i ordered a same day delivery item on Saturday evening for Sunday morning 7-9am. The shopper started and then the delivery was delayed. i got an email I will get the item 45 minutes late. i called multiple times and was just bounced around and spoken to from a script. One customer service rep told me to call the store because he was too lazy to do it himself. I called 4 times and was promised i would get it by 10pm. Never got it. I called this morning and got the same run around. I WOULD NEVER shop there again. The prices on many items are decent, but you also have to weigh that against the portion of your life that you'll never get back while waiting to fork over your hard-earned pennies to one of the world's most exploitative retailers. Average Walmart. Average in this case doesn't mean particularly good - just stocked well enough with decent prices. Unlike a majority of Walmarts, SOME employees here were actually friendly. This of course means other employees here did walk around with a sense of entitlement and it was social hour even when on the clock. The Fios salesman in the back was annoying and transparent. There was actually more than 2 registers open which is a shock from most - but it was a Friday afternoon at the same time. As usual, the prices for Walmart for most things are good. This is the only reason I come back at all. It's a good time to rack up on some essentials without overpaying at regular stores. I found most of what I was looking for. Of course there are the usual weirdo, smelly, zombie-like, rude, strange, oblivious, moronic customers - but that's everywhere and not just limited to Walmart either (though they seem to populate Walmarts more than the usual establishments). I've seen the other reviews. I've been to some real toilet Walmart locations and while this isn't the best I've been to, it's certainly not the worst at all. Standard really once you get past the usual employee issues and all. Large enough parking lot which shares the land with other businesses. The absolute worst! Less then one star! Been coming here for years. Each year the visits get less and less. I used to come about twice a week, then it was twice a month, now I'm down to twice every 6 months. They absolutely suck! The employees are FAR from anything you'd call helpful. If you're lucky enough to spot one and ask a question, they really don't know where anything is or anything about the store :-/ I've been disrespected so bad coming here. One time a man tried to pick me up at Union Walmart- walked right up to me and said he wanted a tall glass of water - yup, you guessed it - a Walmart employee. It's been awhile since I've been here. I'm typing this as I wait in line. They've turned their ENTIRE checkout area into self-serve. Literally one register with an employee actively working. I went in on Sunday 11/8/20 and was greeted by dominequa and she was by far the friendliest person I've met on all my trips there, treats everybody with respect she definitely had a difficult job that day a lot of people think standing outside and checking masks is a very easy job but it's not I would hear customers yelling at her giving her attitude being nasty cursing at her and she was able to handle everything professionally never got loud or nasty or spoke back to anyone she still treating them with respect and good customer service and professionalism and I give her a lot of credit because I know a lot of people that would not be able to bite their tongue or ignore it and she's just a lovely ray of sunshine it was a pleasure interacting with her and she sets the bar for customer service at the union Walmart. Everything else in the store is OK I can handle the crowds and all of the people the long lines that Gary says the employees are very good with getting that line to shorten very quickly the only complaint I have is being followed around by the people over by the technology department you are constantly harassing you and asking you what Internet provider you have and they are a third-party company they're not part of Walmart but for example I had my hands full I was bent down tying my shoe not even looking at the woman And all of a sudden I hear hi how are you doing today sir and I just cut her off and told her I was not interested because you can't even walk by without them stopping you I do everything I can to avoid going over near that area because they are extremely annoying and that's one suggestion I have is getting rid of that third-party company because it's the worst thing that's happened to the store read more

I spent about 10 minutes in this location picking up an online order and everything is a giant mess. The floors are sticky with mystery liquids, shelves are empty and disorganized. Departments are mislabeled on signs and I consistently got shuffled around trying to find the pickup desk. HINT: don't follow the signs. Try and find a manager. HORRIBLE WORST WALMART EVERRRR! I was asked for my drivers license which was not even needed for the exchange I was doing and was never given it back but I was in a rush so I did not realize. As soon as I got home I noticed and immediately called because I love about 30 min away. I was calling non stop for OVER 40 minutes and got NO RESPONSE AT ALL. I resorted to calling the pharmacy and asking to speak to a manager who was not trying to help me whatsoever. I explained my situation and was placed on hold for 20 more minutes and then got hung up on before even being able to speak to any one. I ended up going into the store after being told they have my drivers license but once I got there no one knew anything. I had to go through 4 people and still did not get my ID back. The *Pickup at these Walmart is HORRIBLE!! Badly managed. 25 people waiting to pick up and all has checked in. The wait is close to an hour to get your checked in mail order item. Unhappy customers, unhappy and unorganized workers. A lot of workers just stand around and chat. I should start by saying this was a shopping trip (my first to this location) to return something. Pro's and con's below... my up front advice: don't go here unless you absolutely have to-the one near Morristown on Ridgeway is much much better (although their food selection is small). Pro's: despite and insanely long line (like literally 20+ people), we made return within 10 minutes-they brought extra staff on to accommodate, and they were patient and helpful with each person. Con's: both the clientele, the store, and even the area just felt like it left something to be desired if you know what I mean. grimy inside, packed parking lot, etc. This review may not seem that bad, and maybe it's just because it's a walmart and I tend to hate most of them in the northeast because they're always in run down areas a mess, etc, but this place just left me feeling gross... so much so that I had to shake the feeling off with a trip to home goods 2 doors down so we'd end our errands on a high note. read more

Well, one thing's for sure, is that this isn't a SuperCenter. This is practically like any other regular, basic Wal*Mart store. I say that because this location doesn't have a full grocery section that the SuperCenters possess. So what does this store have? Well, it has some gardening supplies and outdoor decorations. They also have various clothing and shoe areas. They even have areas for toys, sporting and fitness goods, electronics, and kitchen appliances. Of course we can't forget about the pharmacy, vitamins and items for personal hygiene. Finally, they have the limited grocery area. Aside from shelves of various food items for your pantry, they also placed cases of artificial fruit drinks right close-by. Typical of a regular Wal*Mart, no? Oh yeah, we can't forget about the tiny area filled with bagged fruits and vegetables. Is that suppose to be a produce section or something? Sure other regular Wal*Marts may not have that, but this doesn't even come close to being a SuperCenter. For real, this particular location was just as disorganized as K-Mart. Merchandise was scattered about all over the shelves, thus being a complete mess. Some of the items weren't even in their proper places. It looked like as if the employees were just throwing objects onto random parts of the shelf, before walking away without taking the time to organize them. Also, some parts of the shelf were completely empty. I guess re-stocking shelves completely and neatly wasn't very important, here? When we're in the area sometimes, we stop here to grab certain items. Usually, the stuff that we grab here tended to be priced lower than some of the other competitors, like Gilette aftershave and Stax chips. Despite the messy shelves, we were able to find what we wanted. For this location, if you needed to find something in particular, you would have to look through the mess to see if they carried what you wanted. The cashiers only exhibited attitudes that were neither cheerful or negative. As far as prices were concerned, getting the lowest price depended on what you wanted to get. I've seen prices that were lower elsewhere for a good fraction of the items. But for the other items, this store had the lowest price. Even though I didn't walk out empty handed (resulting in the extra star), this store needs to be cleaned up and more organized. read more

In my book any Walmart location really serves only one of two purposes: (a) as an interesting place to sometimes browse, or (b) a lowest common denominator retailing convenience stop-- particularly when traveling. Strictly in that context, the Union location is adequate. Ironically, twenty years ago my office was exactly where this building now stands. The Union Walmart gains some appeal only when the nearby Target and other big-box retailers are considered, and any consideration of customer service, efficiency or factors beyond prices are thereby dismissed. As an example, while the prices at their in-store pharmacy are legitimately lower, the time and aggravation associated will usually negate any benefit. They open and close at whim, are poorly supplied, loaded with "attitude" and take forever-- even when they aren't busy. More concerning, their essential quality control is sometimes absent; the wrong medicine and/or miscounted quantities aren't uncommon. As a grocery shopping stand-in, they lack most of our favored brands and (despite the heavy television marketing blitz) their quality is generally sub-grade. Further, visual indications of cleanliness or product freshness discourage the temptation to take advantage of the minimal cost savings offered. Often while waiting for tire service at the nearby STS, or special work at the Home Depot, I'll browse the electronics area. While prices appear to be attractive, the knowledge of the sales associates who have attempted to assist just doesn't inspire an adequate motivation to buy. Their prices are usually beatable, as despite their "everyday low price guarantee," many big-ticket items are tagged with Walmart-only product codes. We have, however, found several items which just weren't available elsewhere while browsing the aisles. Our need for these items was sufficient to have us endure the checkout chaos and delay which are invariably present, even during their off-hours. We've never personally experienced the rudeness and general idiocy inflicted upon others, and only overheard. Perhaps this is just a matter of time.
