Also, if you can't accommodate someone 10 mins grace, then you probably have your appts too close together. Herding too many people in to make more profit, I guess. Anyway, the selection of frames stink and the only reason I've gone this long is for the 3 for 1 eye exams. Not even worth it. I never complain, but this one deserves it in my opinion. She currently sees three generations of my family (my parents, my wife and me and our children) and we ALL drive nearly an hour to visit her. Why? Aside from having bought hybrids :) we all fee like a part of her family. We feel important to her and the practice. They are truly the type of people that make a person feel welcomed and that they will go the extra mile for you. Frankly though, and most importantly, I trust the practice with the care of my elderly parents and my children. The level of knowledge and expertise, coupled with the sincerest of hospitality and friendliness, is a combination that allows for me to confidently and proudly give them 5 stars and refer business to them at any chance I get.

For the record, the doctor himself was great. However, everything that happened after my exam felt disorganized and chaotic. It seemed they were running behind schedule, and I ended up being there during their lunch break. No other customers were present, yet I felt rushed and pressured into purchasing expensive glasses (to wear over contacts for work) as well as a year's supply of contacts. By the time I left, I had spent $646.20 with insurance and honestly felt sick to my stomach about it. Within 24 hours, I called to cancel my orders because that total is simply too expensive for me right now. I was told a 30% "return fee" would still apply, even though I had nothing to physically return since the order had not been fulfilled. That means I paid $347.90 for an eye exam that should have cost around $95. It is frustrating and disappointing to see a business operate this way. My advice: Be very cautious before making any purchases here and do your research on prices ahead of time.

I've been going here ever since I was a little boy in my first pair of glasses, and I intend to keep going for as long as they're in business. Lassiter Vision just moved to Goodlettsville and is now known as Antique Optical. It's a small, independently owned optical shop owned by Darrell Lassiter and his wife Kendra. These two people are the kindest, most lovable, most Christian folks I've ever met, aside from my grandparents. As soon as you walk through those doors, they make sure you feel like family. They are the epitome of southern hospitality. I don't think even the meanest person in the world could dislike the Lassiters. Their selection of frames is relatively small, but that small selection includes a huge amount of diversity. You won't find the big names like RayBan here, but you can find any style you want. I recently just ordered a pair of aviator style glasses from them. They have metal frames, plastic frames, and half their frames are vintage, going back as far as the 19th century! All the non-vintage frames come with a warranty, and of course all the lenses have a warranty as well. The Lassiters really go out of their way to personalize your shopping experience. They ask you what style you're looking for and show you exactly where that style is. When you try them on, they'll give you lots of feedback about how it fits your face. For example, if they droop down too far below your eyes, they'll say so and show you a similar pair that doesn't. And once you find that perfect pair that complements your face and your style perfectly, the excitement you see in Darrell's eyes, smile, and voice is priceless! I've never met anyone so passionate about glasses; he lives for this, and it shows! Have I mentioned just how supernaturally kind Darrell and Kendra are? I'll tell you a quick story to prove it. The other day, I broke an earpiece off my old glasses. The warranty had expired already, so I went in to get a new pair. As I was ordering my new pair, Darrell offered to pop the lenses out and into a new frame. Free of charge, just to have something to wear while I'm waiting on my new ones. The new ones come in, so I go back to return the temporary frames they gave me. What do they say? "They're yours. You always need an extra pair!" I offered to pay, but they wouldn't have it. It was their gift to me. I continue to be overwhelmed by their Christlike generosity and hospitality. The only downside to Antique Optical is that they don't accept vision insurance. But it's totally worth it. You can spend a little less by using your insurance and going to VisionWorks or Warby Parker. But if you break them or lose them, they'll tell you, "Tough." And then you'll spend another $300 on a new pair. Or you can spend a little more here, get a personalized choice of the perfect glasses for you, they'll give you a discount, and if you have any problems, walk right back in, and they'll solve your problem for free. And they'll call you by your name and treat you like their brother or sister, not like just another customer. And that's worth an extra hundred dollars.

I see better now than I have since before I needed a prescription! Calling for an appointment was easy and the receptionists were genteel and informative - plus there was free coffee! (Thank you for the coffee). They accepted my Humana vision insurance and were always quick to inform me of any extra costs I could incur or savings for which I was eligible. Dr. Hammond and his assistants were wonderful! Friendly, obviously caring, thorough, and competent. Dr. Hammond was especially good at not just making me feel comfortable, but also confident. In the end, my prescription for both my glasses and my contacts were a tad better than 20/20. I was actually distracted driving home by the detail I could see in distant foliage. My follow-up was just as easy and informative. The receptionists explained a rebate for the year supply of contact lenses I purchased, and I was able to get back $55. I appreciate the great service and sincere care I received from the entire Hermitage Eye Care team. I highly recommend them!
