He looks to be about 90 years old and has the personality of a doorknob. He doesn't like to talk much. He just kind of grunts. The first eye exam I had, I waited 1.5 weeks for my glasses. If they have an "in-house" lab, why did it take so long? I went in to pick up the glasses and couldn't see squat when the snippy woman with the stringy reddish brown hair sat down with me. Everything was so blurry, I literally could not see anything. She kept repeating over and over how progressive lenses work and that you have to tilt your head back to see out of the bottom portion of the lenses. I kept telling her I was aware of that, but I would get neck strain cocking my head back trying to see out of the glasses and even then I couldn't see anything with them. She got pissed off because I told her to stop repeating that. I've had dozens of pairs of progressive lens glasses and never had to make sure I was holding my head in any particular way to see out of them. I wore them for about 35 years or more and worked in front of a computer screen all day every day. I took the glasses and tried wearing them for four days straight thinking maybe I needed to get used to them. I had to blow up the font size on my laptop and phone in order to read anything and all I got was eye strain. I finally gave up and called them for a prescription check. I had to go back in for the third time and I am disabled, so that's not exactly easy for me. She checked the glasses against the prescription and said it was correct. I then had to schedule a second appointment for an eye exam the following week, so that made a third trip down there. I got my eyes examined again and the alleged doctor seemed quite befuddled by why my prescription didn't work and changed it, but actually suggested I use my cheap readers that I can see out of and just get a prescription for distance. Why would I want to do that? Anyway, he revised the prescription... or something. Another 1.5 weeks passed and I went to pick up the second pair of glasses. This time, the page that same horrible woman gave me to read was less blurry, but still not clear at all. It really shouldn't be this hard folks. Again, she started with her "you have to hold your head back to read with progressives" speech. Again, I told her I was aware of that, but it had never been necessary for me to do that before. She started to get hot again and told me "Well, you've never had progressives then." WHAT? I told her that I had them dozens of times. She disagreed with me and started really getting irritated. I'm getting hot myself at this point because these people are wasting my time and she is insisting it's my fault I can't see out of their crappy glasses. At that point, she stood up, gathered all her papers, including a copy of my new worthless prescription and stormed off back toward the cash register, saying "alright then." 'Alright then, what?" I replied. She acted like that was it. Take it or leave it. I don't know if she's the owner's granddaughter or what, but she acts like she owns the place. I told her on my way out I was going to try and wear the glasses to see if things got better, but if they didn't, I would ask for a refund, no matter what I had signed. I also suggested she check the pathetic online reviews of her store and notice that many negative reviews called HER out in particular for being a nasty piece of work. She doesn't want to hear anything that disagrees with her stock speech. I wish I had checked the reviews before I ventured in there. So I put the glasses on to drive home to see if distance was any better than reading. I could almost see better without the glasses. Not even kidding. What position should I hold my head in for distance, I wonder? Bottom line: I will try and wear these blurry glasses for a few days, but I won't even bother trying to return them and having a third eye exam. I want no parts of going back down there again. I'll just wait until January when my annual Humana glasses allotment comes though again and go somewhere else where they know what they are doing. I will also be calling Humana to report this establishment. Hopefully, they'll get enough complaints to stop contracting with them. I am expecting the store to reply with some kind of "butter wouldn't melt in their mouth" reply where they did nothing wrong. Yeah, nothing wrong except fail to provide the product they are in business to provide and totally waste hours of my time. You have been warned!

Another week went by and still nothing. I called again and was told a manager would call me back. That did not happen. I called to make an appointment and was told that to pick out glasses no appointment was necessary. I was also asked if we had our prescriptions for our glasses which we did. So we headed right down. There were two people being waited on in front of us when we walked in. We were greeted and told we could browse the eyeglasses while we were waiting our turn to get fitted for glasses. After a few minutes both of us had decided on the frames we wanted. We were called over to the desk by Jasmine. I went first since my prescription isn't as complicated as my husband's. In about ten minutes Jasmine reviewed my prescription, looked up my insurance benefits and discounts, fitted me for my bifocals and took my payment after my insurance benefits. Then she worked on my husband's trifocals. Again in ten minutes she was finished. Jasmine had great customer service. She was also very knowledgeable about the glasses and our insurance. She told us that we would receive an email when we could come back and pick up our glasses. We both received an email in approximately two weeks that our glasses were ready for pickup. We went back and the final fitting of our glasses took less than five minutes. We are extremely happy with their customer service and their products. We will definitely go back next time we need new glasses!

Misdiagnosed me twice, MISSED CRITICAL DISEASE!!!…read more DO NOT GO HERE!!! They Misdiagnosed my eye exam and gave me the wrong prescriptions twice! They completely missed the disease I had which was the reason my vision was blurry. I could have suffered permanent vision damage had I listened to them and not gone somewhere else. They were not apologetic at all, refused to admit any fault, and became extremely defensive claiming that I was being rude at their office when I politely explained my situation and that I wanted my money back. I came here when I noticed my vision was getting blurry. I did a full eye exam with the doctor and he said I had a slight stigma then prescribed me glasses. The prescription was wrong on both eyes. Came back a second time, prescription was still wrong on my dominant left eye. I finely went to Walmart where there the ophthalmologist there correctly diagnosed me with Keratoconus, and gave the right prescription for my glasses (Which in the end I barely need since the issue is Keratoconus). When I came back to tell them my diagnoses and ask for my money back the receptionist eventually said "We will speak to the doctor then let you know" then promptly dismissed me, by turning her attention elsewhere. When I eventually spoke to a supervisor over the phone, she told me; and I quote "I spoke to the doctor and he disagrees with the diagnosis that you have Keratoconus." Well guess what, thanks to the ophthalmologist that I saw at Walmart, I went to a specialist who did indeed confirm I have Keratoconus. Keratoconus is a progressive disease without a cure outside of Corneal Transplant. Thanks to this ophthalmologist I am now getting the treatment called corneal collagen cross-linking to stop further degeneration of my eyes. Something I would have completely missed and my eyes would have progressively gotten worst had I listened to this place. It's ridiculous that Walmart of all places had a better ophthalmologist then the "Hernando Eye Institute" but I can't stress this enough. Please DO NOT GO HERE! Not if you value your sight!

I was never aware that progressive lenses could be upgraded. I had no idea that was even an option…read more I have never needed to upgrade so it was done without my knowledge behind my back ! Maybe Danielle thinks she explained the upgrade to me but she did not. I have never needed lenses other than the basic progressive and i have never required anything other than basic glasses. I used my old frames from last year. SO, instead of using just my Basic Insurance Benefit which would have only used $200 she took an additional $200 from my Medicare Flex Account and I left there with eyeglasses that cost $400 needlessly. I think they take advantage of older senior folks on Medicare Advantage Plans in order to increase their profit. She is only an Optician and not an Optometrist. I mention this because she took it upon herself to argue with me about how well I could see out of the left lens. Who is she to argue with a customer about their vision being adequate? I have lodged a complaint with my insurance company about how I have been treated by this company, and I will be calling the Better Business Bureau also. She gave me a copy of the invoice which is not at all understandable to the average person. I will try to attach it to this review review. Also I requested that someone in authority such as the owner or district manager contact me about this situation I've experienced with Site 360 Optimart but they only response I've gotten Is a "pre-written generic email / text that is not even specific to my sitiation". It's nothing more than a "canned response" they send to anyone with legitimate complaints about them or their company. I did not ask for anything to be refunded to me...Just to have the $200 put back into my Flex Account. I am 76 years old and live on a fixed income! This so called 4-5 STAR BUSINESS can care less about their elderly vision patients. I hope that people who get their vision care are this Company read this. I will be posting it all over the internet...TRUST THIS REVIEW, especially if you are on Medicare!!! (And probably Medicaid also) Sharon Sandstrom 352.777.2705
