From the beginning, he attempted to upcharge me over $350 for services and products that did not match my insurance coverage. After questioning everything and verifying directly with my insurance company, I ended up paying only $20. That kind of discrepancy is unacceptable and highly misleading. I had already provided my insurance information the day before, so there was no excuse for the confusion. Raul gave me incorrect information multiple times, including claiming I had multiple insurance plans (I only have one) and insisting my copay was $50 when I knew it was $10. I had to call my insurance myself and have my benefits faxed over just to correct what he was telling me. He also told me I could only pick glasses from three specific display sections. When I asked another employee, I was informed I could choose from the entire store--completely contradicting Raul. As a 15-year combat veteran, I value honesty, professionalism, and respect. Unfortunately, this experience reflected none of those qualities. Customers should not have to fact-check employees or fight to avoid being overcharged. This was a very disappointing and stressful experience, and I strongly encourage management to address this situation. Transparency and accurate information should be standard practice, not something customers have to demand.

Nine months ago on September 3, 2021 I bought one of this outlet's most expensive eyeglasses along with a second pair of regular readers. In all i spent hundreds of dollars. The sales associate said they were made partially of titanium and she demonstrated their strength and flexibility by bending and twisting them. I was impressed enough to buy them. Nine months later I go to put them on and..... BOING!!!! They came apart in two pieces. So i went to the store with my receipt expecting to get either a super deal or a free pair. NOPE. Too bad, the manager said. You want another pair you pay the full price out of pocket. I was interested in getting contact lenses if they offered me a deal but after that exchange I simply said, "I'll go somewhere else." FRESH INFO: I bought two glasses here. One for just looking around and normal use that was titanium. They broke as i said above. My other glasses were for reading especially small print. They just broke yesterday. Glass just fell out. I'd say it was a year and a half old. So skip Optical Outlets, all locations. That's my advice to you. Go somewhere else other than any of the Optical Outlets. I was pleasantly greeted by all employees, and was tested for glaucoma by a technician before meeting the doctor, who explained treatment of cataracts thoroughly. The inexpensive selection of frames are displayed in three groups for men, women and children. The prices for frames are $79 through $129 if you have no insurance and includes the price of the eye exam. Options for coatings and scratch protection are available if you choose. Luckily my medical plan covers an annual exam and partial payment towards a pair of glasses so it was extremely inexpensive for my visit. I decided to order prescription sunglasses at a discount. Delivery and fitting of each pair of glasses will be done in two weeks. The experience was pleasant and I would recommend this location.

When Dr. Beane tested my eyes, she was knowledgeable, easy going, and patient. Dr. Mathews would be happy to know that the new inhabitant of his exam room is as wonderful as he was! She adjusted my new prescription for my astigmatism. No more wavy or blurry intermittent lines. She also explained why cataract surgery wasn't necessary at this time. I don't mind waiting! Kimberlee was fantastic in the lens and frames department. She helped both of us pick out frames, went over our insurance to help us choose features, and checked us out. I went to Dr. John Myers in Clearwater Fl to have my eye annual exam. The optometrist gave me a…read moreprescription that I even questioned about it being better than my old glasses. I then took the prescription and had the lenses and frame made. When I received them, Something was severely wrong. I called them and they said you just need to try them for a while and get use to the new prescription After trying them unsuccessfully for the next few weeks but could never wear them for more than 5-10 minutes, I finally gave up and went back for another eye exam at Dr John Meyers. I was told I would have to pay for the eye exam before they would proceed. I figured OK I'll work this out with Dr. Myers afterwards if we find a problem. The second optometrist found that the first prescription prescribed diagnosed my vision incorrectly ( by so many factors they were unusable) and gave me a new prescription. Dr. Myers would not take responsibility for his optometrist to make such a horrible mistake. I fought with these lenses for over a month and now I have to spend another $500 to replace them and had to pay for the second exam, stay away from this optometrist. His ethics and attitude are so poor he should be investigated. Who has $500 to throw away on a bad pair of glasses? (Dr Meyers?) What's going on with basic healthcare?
