He is on social security disability and lives pay check to pay check the optometrist that helped us was every pushy to get his eye examination done because he was her last patient. I think its ethically wrong for a business to know he has this corneal edema that isnt stable (obviously because the prescription changes a significant amount every year) and not advise him agent getting glasses and spend his money just to take it he spent over 400 this past set on glasses for all the lenses comforts for disappointment because he can't wear them. We would have gone back sooner about this matter but I had to do a little more digging and advocating to see more what corneal edema was all about. They advise you ain't getting prescription glasses till you have had lest two consecutive optometrist visits of no change in your prescription to get prescription glasses.

FYI: This is the VISION CENTER in the MALL…read more My husband and I recently went to the Vision center and I have to say if you're looking for a rude and un-polite experience, this is the place for you. The doctors are okay, however the entire experience is nothing but work. Trying to get an appointment seems like pulling teeth to these receptionists. They can't be bothered with you, and forget scheduling an appointment.... That is just to hard to do. The Spanish girl with brown hair is the worst one of all!!! I will NOT be returning because these people need to offer more than great glasses...they need some decent staff as well. I would rather spend more money and have a nice experience. I spent over 600.00 out of my own pocket, not including insurance, and somehow these women made me fill like I was trash! Wal-Mart has better staff, and that doesn't say a lot in my opinion. Horrible, Horrible, Horrible experience.

This is the "McDonald's" of eye care. If all you need are…read morenew lenses or such, I'm sure its fine. We called with a worrisome issue, a possible retinal tear. We were told Dr Katz could see and diagnose, so went went right down (because they were listed as a provider on our VSP vision plan) Katz did a quick eye exam and assured us all was fine and just needed new contacts, said these symptoms "happens to many people at 60". Low and behold, days later (while we wait for the new contacts to "come in") my husbands symptoms are getting worse... So I called and spoke to a GP doctor who said there is NO WAY anyone can just look into an eye - even an OD -- without dilating the pupils to see a retinal tear. There could be a torn retina still - that we dont know about. A dilation was NOT done by Dr Katz... so his reassurance was worthless. We wasted time, and could still possibly have an emergency issues that could cause my husband to go blind. Is this the industry standard of eye care? I hope not! In years past we've gotten contacts there, with mediocre results... but it's a walk in vision place in the mall.... what can you expect?? For our eyesight we want a real ophthalmologist who knows what they are doing. Please dont guess and gamble with our eyesight. The least Katz could have done is take and look and say "seems OK on the surface, but I recommend you get a dilation, and I don't do that" Geesh. That said we had NO issues with any of the staff...They were all fine, and friendly. The setting was hectic and busy with a lo of walk ins... and the staff was preoccupied, but for good reason.

I'm so sad that I've lived in the high desert all these years jumping from optometrist to…read moreoptometrist to get my eye exam when I could have been coming to America's Best Contacts and Eyeglasses. From the moment I walked through the door I felt welcome. The staff were smiling and did not permit anyone to walk through the door without a warm welcome. I felt at ease and confident that my eye exam would be completed timely without the pressures of adding on all the extras you are bothered with when you get a new pair of glasses and I was correct. My exam was quick and effortless. The tech was professional and appeared very competent in her role and she proved me correct. I knew my last prescription from last years exam from another optometrist was no longer working and between the tech and the optometrist my new prescription is perfect, I can see and can't wait for my new glasses. The optometrist was also very professional and competent. She fixed my prescription and I saw super clear it was a major difference for me and I am appreciative. The most fun part of going here was they provide you with a small basket and encourage to try on any pair of glasses and place them in the basket so at the end when it's time to check out, you'll be able to try them on with the tech. I love this because most places don't want you to remove the glasses from the wall and take them around the store with you, at least this has been my experience. The two young ladies helping me were sweet, cute and patient. I asked all types of questions and they never one time showed frustration. That's customer service! I just cannot get over all the smiling faces in this establishment, which is rare in most places you patronize these days. Thank you ABC&E. You'll be my new optometrist. By the way, the glasses are not super expensive, another plus. They also accepted both of my eye insurance plans, yet another plus. I can't say enough about the amazing experience I had today. Considering I was a walk-in, my visit was fast. I highly recommend this organization for your next eye exam. Thank you so much a very happy customer!!!!!

This was my first experience with America's Best and I can see why so many reviews say "America's…read moreWorst". While I have nothing bad to say about the employees who work at this location (they were all helpful, nice, and timely), the glasses that eventually made their way to me were messed up in ways I have never encountered before (strange permanent smudges and marks on the lenses). Unfortunately, when I reached out to ask for a replacement, I was told I would need to come back in to get them checked first. Since I live an hour and a half away (and had the glasses shipped to me), this isn't an easy trip. It's frustrating that I'm the one the has to pay with my time and money in order to get America's Best's mistake fixed. My advice: DO NOT use this company for your eye care needs. Especially when (even with insurance) my exam and one pair of glasses cost over $200. You expect to get a pair of glasses that has some kind of quality control for that price, but that's not the case with "America's Best". At this point, I'm writing it off as a loss and will go elsewhere in the future.

Now we are ready to get our eye glasses from Costco Optical. Upon arrival, you'll want to scan the bar code to get your number in line. Yes, it's no longer a piece of paper you pull out from a holder. The scan is a better system than before IMHO. Once your number is up, you'll be called and helped by one of the staff members. My daughters and I spent some time looking for the perfect eyeglass frames. Luckily, they both found something they like. Funny, they picked from the same designer, but just different designs. I, on the other hand, was a bit choosier. I got two pairs... one for computer and another for distance. Yes, I am at the bifocal stage, but chooses to do the put on, take off, and put on method LOL. Hey, it works! Kid you not, eyeglass frames at Costco Optical is super low cost! You can't beat $50+ or $60+ frames. They have a very good selection of frames and they are of good quality, too. They also have higher end frames. The add-ons such as transition, high index lens, etc will be additional cost. They currently have a fantastic special... buy one pair, get another pair for $50 off. With my VSP benefit, it's even more savings. Both my daughters eyeglasses came out to be a total of $169+ and my two pairs were a total of $280+ (I had a few add-ons because I'm old and need the extra help LOL). I am very pleased with the outcome. Thank you! Staff was exceptionally nice, friendly, patient, and very helpful. Thank you so much H* for your extra attention and care! You know who you are. I will come back to Costco time and time again for new eyeglasses. Thank you, thank you, and thank you!
