The day of my alleged appointment with the other firm, I called Walnut Creek Pediatric Dentistry. Every step of the way they were amazing. The gal on the phone was very nice, shared deets on the practice and even got me in same day for routine check up (kept my promise with my kid). In the office, again, they were all super nice. The hygienist was super careful with my son. Bless her patience! The dentist was just as gentle and nice with kid. I highly recommend visiting them. I rarely write poor reviews. Unfortunately I had a very unsettling experience with Dr. Jaffrey. I have three children (ages 12, 10 and 8). In Nov 22 my children had their first cleaning / consultation with this practice. Typically I like to accompany my children to their health appointments however I had a work commitment that day so my nanny took the kids instead. The dentist and office exceeded my expectations and thoroughly debriefed me on the visit. We traded very positive pleasant emails and at the time I felt very fortunate to have found a long term dental practice. My children loved the experience and came home very happy from this visit. I was looking forward to my next check ups. A few months later in February, a 1 star Yelp review was written by someone with the same name as me (the very common name of Victoria). The office contacted me directly to address the poor review and I explained (1) it wasn't my review or my Yelp account, (2) the poor Yelp review discussed a 2 year old (as stated above, my children are older) and (3) I have no issues with what was stated in the poor Yelp review (which focused on covid protocols). Dr. Jaffrey insinuated that someone must have been impersonating me, which I guess she meant mockingly, because when it came time to book the next appointment, Dr. Jaffrey informed me that the office and staff are not comfortable treating my children. I thought it was a simple misunderstanding and if I just explained it wasn't me we could laugh it off and just go about our day however Dr. Jaffrey and her office were very cold to me during the numerous times I reached out to explain the misunderstanding and would never schedule the next appointment. I'm left personally offended; it wasn't professional or aligned with the original experience I had after the first cleaning. In summary - Initially I thought this was a great place but their treatment of me after they incorrectly assumed I left a negative review, their inability to logically understand that it would make no sense for me to leave a negative review and then continue to try to book an appointment, and their inability to read the family details of the negative review and see that they don't match the details of my family have me questioning their judgment, stability, and critical thinking skills. read more

We used to love this place...Unfortunately we feel forced to move. If you happen to have to miss your appointment (for whatever reason) after their 48 hour cut off you will be charged $200 - or more! She said we could have been charged more as they charge full price for a missed appointment. They are steadfast even though they are losing clients left and right, including us. Steer clear of taking your kids to this dentist. The practice started a policy of not providing estimated costs for treatments prior to the treatment. This unprofessional conduct leaves families with dental bills which they are expected to pay at the end of the appointment without prior notice. Additionally, if you try to raise any questions about the services provided or available alternatives, they will not answer your questions and will tell you not to come back. The practice manager and Dr. Jaffrey both refused to address the questions and, instead, said that any questions a parent has about their child's care means that the parent doesn't trust the practice. They certainly lost my trust by the end of the conversation with the way they handled the situation. read more

Similar to the other families that have posted reviews, out of the blue, I received a patient dismissal letter in the mail today. I had made an appointment for last Friday for our 2 girls to come in for a cleaning before the year ended. A couple of days before the appointment, Maddie called and left me a voicemail noting that the girls already had their 2 annual cleanings in 2023 and that we had to wait until next year. Her message then asked that I call back when we identified a good time to come in 2024. At first I thought this is great and I planned to call as soon as possible to schedule their cleanings in 2024. And, understanding that our appointment had been canceled, we obviously did not show up on Friday. But today we received the dismissal letter. It claims that we have missed several appointments already. That can't possibly be true since we just started coming to the practice in January of 2023, after relocating from the East Coast last year, and my girls have only needed cleanings, which according to her voice mail, we have completed. When I called to make our new patient appointment, sometime in late 2022, the office told me that they did not want to take our insurance (Cigna). But then they changed their minds and told us to come in. Maybe they have changed their mind again. It would not surprise me if all of the patients getting kicked out have insurance they don't like. Every business has the right to make as much money as they can, but if that's the real reason why not be upfront about it? For the right dentist, we could pay out of pocket. Seems from reading some of the other reviews that unwarranted patient dismissals are a regular thing here. I wasn't going to post a public review, but the situation I had here in October was extremely frustrating. I took my son for a regular checkup and upon checking out, I was told I had a significant balance to pay. I told the person checking us out that must not be right - we had the same services and same insurance as last time when everything was fully covered. Apparently, they did a special type of x-ray that my insurance doesn't cover, so we had a balance that time. I asked a few more questions about the charge and paid the amount and left. Later that evening, I called and left a voicemail letting them know I was frustrated with how they handled the situation - why couldn't they have told me my son was getting a different type of x-ray that isn't fully covered? If they knew enough to charge us as we were walking out, why couldn't they let me know before we had the service done so I could have declined that service? I told them that I would be happy to discuss further with them and to clarify better why they aren't so transparent on insurance coverage. There was no return call, but two days later, I got a "dismissal letter" that said my children were not welcome back into the office and we had 30 days to find a new dentist for them. This was a completely unprofessional and ridiculous way to handle a non-public complaint. I would have appreciated so much more to have a conversation with them to understand their policies so I could engage with them better the next time we went in - I never had the opportunity to do that. It's unfortunate that their office treats patients this way, especially because their dental assistants and some of the dentists are great. They must have a too many patients if they are making dismissals a regular thing. My kids loved going here - shame they have to feel the consequences of this unprofessional exchange. read more

Update I showed up today for a scheduled follow up for my girls. Rather than a "sorry for making you and your little kids wait in the cold in nothing but shorts and flip flops last time," they not only acted like they didn't know us. They retaliated for the unsatisfactory review by cancelling the kids without sending me any notice. The only thing I was told today was "maybe your appointment is across the street," with extreme sarcasm and attitude. This is probably the worst any business has ever treated my family and what's weird is they used to be so nice and suddenly a flipped switch. It makes me question the authenticity of other reviews giving them high ratings. We had recently gotten nearly a dozen fillings with this company and it also makes me question if my kids even needed all that work and general anesthesia and treatment or if they just used my kids as a quick buck to exploit with unnecessary procedures and then dump them to move onto new, younger piggy banks with new teeth so they can rinse and repeat because just check up and cleanings don't pay enough. Go at your own risk. If they recommend many procedures, I'd think it doesn't hurt to get a second opinion. read more

Such phenomenal staff. My daughter came in for a full checkup and to check two chipped/loose teeth. I was a bit of a mess on the phone trying to explain everything going on, and they were so kind and helpful. She ended up needing one tooth extracted, and while that wasn't fun, it went far better than I could have hoped. They are so kind and so we'll trained to help children, especially if something more serious like oral surgery is happening. They have balloons and prizes and TVs in the chair--nothing like the dentist when I was a kid! We've had to switch my daughter's dentist a few times because our insurance keeps changing things, and this is my favorite pediatric dentist by far. read more

Absolutely fantastic staff and doctor. We have been coming to this office since our twins were 2 years old and they are now 10 years old and we have another boy that is now visiting regularly. They are calling to remind us to schedule their cleanings, are very considerate if they are hesitant. If they are not comfortable they reschedule the appointment. For example, one of them had a cavity and couldn't get comfortable so doctor told him we can try another time. Next time was better. Not pushy with treatment, and always thinking what's best for the child. Our youngest is always so proud to have his teeth cleaned and cares that he brushes daily. read more

Ashley is amazing. My child is very touch-sensitive, to the point he will only where certain clothes and is extremely particular about who touches him. Yet, Ashley has a way to make him feel very comfortable and secure, making sure he understands everything about the tools before she does anything. I decided to switch my son's dentist, to someone who specializes in pediatric dentistry and after his first visit, I wish I would have switched earlier. My 10 year old son gets really anxious every time he has an appointment. However, the entire office made him very comfortable and he even left with a huge smile. He's never had a cavity before, and the fact that they kept commenting on how great his teeth were made him really proud of himself. While the dental hygienist was cleaning his teeth she advised him on when and for how long he should brush them. Each time he recognized something I say to him, he would glance at me. I'm sure most parents out there, know the struggle of getting our kids to brush their teeth, but this dental office was able to put a little pep in my kids' step; knowing he was on the right track of keeping his teeth cavity free. After so much research I made an appt for my 2 year old son for his first dental visit. I was worried he would barely make it in the chair but everyone was welcoming and patient. They allowed both parents in the exam room and the hygienist went through each procedure on a stuffed animal or my son's hand so he was familiar with the equipment. This place is a hidden gem! I brought my four year old son Rayan here yesterday and the staff as well as Mary, who cleaned his teeth and guided us on how we should care for his teeth was absolutely wonderful in her explanation, guidance and making my son feel warm and welcomed. Dr.Zahra came to take a look and speak to us about his teeth, was also wonderful with us and our son, and provided insightful information on how his teeth may grow in the future, and provided future direction for his care. The reception staff were all so very nice. All in all this place is amazing! These people truly care about the well being of your family. I only wish they also did adult dentistry hahaha. First impression our our kids teeth cleaning was excellent and staff was sweet. Recently (months after seeing them for the first time) we had a very scary very traumatic incident at a park where my 7 year old daughter had her front ADULT tooth ripped out, we called 911 panicking not knowing what to do and then also called the dentist office. It was on a Saturday afternoon so they were closed but we got patched through for emergency to Dr Jaffrey. she dropped everything and told us to meet her there so we rushed our daughter and her tooth which was in a cup of milk to the office. Dr Jaffrey was so sweet and calm to help ease our daughters worries and quickly got to work . She got our daughters tooth back in, put stitches where needed and put a splint on her teeth. she had no team assisting , yet she was so amazing with her skills and so sweet saying positive happy things to me and my daughter to lift our spirits!! we left with smiles and a plan moving forward, she also gave me her personal number and reached out the next day to check on my daughter which I felt was so sweet. Dr Jaffrey fit us in to her schedule Monday morning for a follow up and her and her team have been so helpful organizing appointments with other specialists moving forward. I can't tell you how traumatic this incident was for my daughter and our family and everyone from the front desk to the Doctors have been so sweet, so helpful I can't believe that they have been going above and beyond with helping me organize all my daughters follow up appointments with other drs at other offices!! We didn't have to wait long before we were invited in by the hygienist. She was so kind and patient to my 2.5 year old!!
