I hired Car Buyer's Advocate in Apple Valley, MN and paid $795 for vehicle search, trade-in negotiation, and advocacy services. I worked directly with owner Robert Dittel. Prior to payment, business representative Kelley Dittel promised consultation throughout the process. I specified 2020-2026 trucks under 60,000 miles at $780/month maximum and disclosed my full financial situation upfront before paying. I received no communication from Bob Dittel for 23 days after payment was made. The vehicle list arrived the evening before our scheduled meeting -- giving me no time to review or prepare -- and included vehicles from 2005, 2008, 2009, 2014, 2016, 2018, and 2019 with mileage between 103,000 and 225,000 miles. No consultation was ever provided. The advertised savings were calculated using each vehicle's original "Suggested Retail Value" -- original new car pricing, not current used market value. KBB confirmed the vehicles were at or above current market value. The negative equity figure Robert Dittel cited to justify the list was also overstated -- my trade-in sold for $24,000, well above what he projected. After I filed consumer complaints, the business's Instagram account followed my personal private account and my business account. I found a 2023 certified pre-owned truck with 39,000 miles on my own, at payments below my target -- without Robert Dittel's help. Why should we stop at 5 stars ? I think there should be more, Brian is the best person I have ever bought a vehicle from, and I'm 84 years old ! With him there's no messing around, he will give you the facts and make the best offer possible, he makes everything so easy. We were in and out in less than three hours total, I'm talking about two visits to his place, out the door with our car and on the road. Before we left his business, he told us he had ordered a rear seat latching device, and would call us when it arrived. He called us day before yesterday, asked us to bring the car to him and he would take it to the maintenance people to have it installed at his expense. The device has been installed and everything is working properly. Tell me a dealership that would do that. After we were home, we discovered we were missing two parts of the jack from the trunk.
