This towing company is the absolute worst. I got into a car accident and the police called Walsh to tow my car. The same day I decided to go pick it up and was charged $500 and could only pay with CASH. They don't accept credit or debit which is very inconvenient for some people because not everyone can get cash on demand. I don't recommend at all. They even charge me a fee for cleaning up the debris on the street which was nothing at all. If you can call a towing company you have had experience with or know is good. The police are partnered with these people and that goes to show the rude, racists customer service. Nearly 900 dollars for a tow not even a mile away!!! 190 hook up fee, 250 clean up fee, 50 dollar Oak Lawn fee, 100 dollar administration fee and a 25 dollar gas fee and 85 dollars per day! My girlfriend was involved in a accident and they wouldn't let us get our own tow due to the time it would take. Keep in mind this place is not open on sundays and closes early in the morning at 12 on saturday. On saturday the following day of the accident we planned to pickup the car but couldn't due to the front desk person lying to us. We where told we can see the car with the insurance claim number and when we arrived with it now we are being told we need the tow release form. That costed us saturday and they are close sunday which ofc they will still charge you for. A regular tow would be about 150 dollars and somehow this was 900 dollars, Oak lawn has literally given this place a license to rob! Now my girlfriend is looking at a 900 dollar bill for a tow that was 1 mile, keep in mind her car is barely even worth that and now we are expected to pay this outrageous bill for something we didn't even ask for. read more

So my car broke a suspension component on Friday night causing it to barely bump vehicle in front of me so Chicago ridge police dept (happened at 107 central at 11pm on way home from work) close at noon on Saturday and closed on Sunday this place is trying to charge me $495 for a tow 4 blocks for 3 days of storage (yes they're counting Friday) $75 in admin fees????? Would not recommend this company. They work with the police and I believe they have are running a scam on everyone. The company closes early on Saturday and doesn't open back up until Monday morning. However, if your car is towed late Saturday, they will charge you for Sunday and Saturday as well. They also have other hidden fees you have to watch out for. read more

I was a bit nervous when my car was towed here after an accident, just because I didn't get a choice who towed it and wasn't familiar with Walsh's. However, I was glad that's who towed my vehicle. I called them later that day and they were very nice. When I went in the next day to clean out the vehicle the gentlemen and lady in the office were so nice, helpful and gave me information that I needed and was not aware of. Then when insurance told me to go back and take my plates off the vehicle. I was worried I wouldn't make it before they closed and was told not to worry he (believe his name was Don) would be there late. My vehicle was ordered to be towed away after a hit and run incident to Walsh towing due to my license being suspended! I had no problem paying towing, administrative, fuel, and the one day storage fee. But these people had my vehicle less than 24 hours and charged me an extra day of storage after I spoke to someone 15 hours after it was towed and picked it up 5 1/2 hours later after I got a break from work! Less than 24 hours right???? Still charged me anyway and told me "and we don't have change ". I didn't put up a fuss at all and looked at the $5 change that was rightfully owned to me as a tip to just keep good energy going within myself. Man what's right is right and what's wrong is WRONG! NEVER use Walsh's Auto and Truck Repair, Inc located at 5600 W 111th St, Oak Lawn, IL 60453!! Needed a tow when our car stopped working and the Alsip police called them to come out and tow our car. When they arrived, I turned off my car and handed the tow guy my keys. The key FOB that I handed them was completely intact and in perfect working condition. Fast forward to Monday, I spoke with Brian (the owners son) and he said our car was ready. The issue with the cars computer had been resolved and there was no more he could do. I came to retrieve my car later that evening and upon paying for the tow, one of the shop employees handed me my keys. Immediately after looking at them I said, "These aren't my keys" because the entire unlock button was pushed into the FOB and the rubber connecting it was completely detached. It was literally hanging on by a thread. They assured me that those were my keys and the employee stepped out of the door and proceeded to show me that the FOB was working for my car. I stated that I did not hand the tow guy my keys in anywhere near the condition that they are in now. Both employees in the office just stared at me with no explanation. I then proceeded to ask them if they even worked to unlock the car and one of the employees stated that if I had a key hole that I could just use that. Which isnt true because even if I could get into my car with the key, the alarm would still sound until I could press the unlock to deactivate it. They then proceeded to dig out the unlock button thst was jammed into the FOB and gently placed it back in its spot and then it worked and they acted like all was resolved. I then proceeded to explain AGAIN that this isn't how I gave my keys to the tow employee and they AGAIN looked at me like I had 4 heads. They said that they aren't the ones who serviced my car and that I would have to talk to Brian. I told them to make sure they let him know that I will be calling him. I called the next day and upon speaking to Brian, I again stated the issue and he began to tell me that this is how he recieved the keys and that they were scratched up and worn of ( which they arent) trying to make it seem like it was my fault and that they were old keys. After not letting it go, he said he would ask the tow guy what he had to say and that he would call me back. I never recieved a call back so I called again today and a receptionist answered and I asked to speak with Brian and she asked why and I told her. She put me on hold and then came back on and told me that he was busy but for her to tell me that the tow guy said he didnt even need to use the unlock button because it was already unlocked when he picked it up. She then told me that there would be nothing they would do for me. Clearly upset, I asked to speak to him directly and she shut me down again saying he wad busy. My husband then called a little later in the day and Brian answered. When Anthony stated why he was calling, Brian cut him off and said that they didn't damage the keys and that they would not be taking this any further. Anthony mentioned the owners name and asked to be put in contact with him and Brian stated, " You do know I am the owners son right?" Anthony clearly didn't care who he was and asked again to be put in contact with him. Brian took his namr and number but I will not be expecting a call seeing that through all of this even before the key situation, I had to call every time to get information about my car. I am appalled at the customer service of this place and that they could so blatanly disregard our concern for the fact that they seriously damaged our key FOB. A replacement for our car would cost $75. Definitely not a cheap key replacement. I would strongly suggest using someone else for your car repair and towing needs. If you ever have the help of the police and they offer to call, make sure you know who they are calling first. They are contracted out by many local stations. The unlock button is currently being held onto the FOB with tape and doesn't always work if you dont hit it right, so now we will have to swallow the $75 to replace it because Walsh's isn't even acknowledging this at all. They didnt even go as far as having enough customer service to say sorry this happened or that this is the situation. Just plain rude and dismissive the ENTIRE time. read more

Long story short w these people.. called Walsh to tow my car from my driveway in Alsip to my mechanic at 96th and Cicero on August 23. Walsh towed my car on August 24 while I was at work! My wife gave them the keys to my 2010 Hyundai . I thought all was good.... my mechanic fixed my vehicle on Monday, August 26 and called me to come pick it up! I arrived at 3:00 pm to pick up my car, was given the keys and went to open the door and as I opened the door... A HUGE NOISE OCCURRED! Somebody had ruined my drivers side door, bent the window frame of the door! I called out mechanic and he said "that's the way he received the door!" I then called Walsh and got the driver on the phone, he denied damaging my door! I asked to speak to Walsh towing owner only to find that he wasn't available! I called back Tuesday to speak w owner and again, he wasnt available so I got driver on phone and I tried shaming him to admit guilt to no avail! I called back Walsh again Wednesday, August 28, and again couldn't get owner on phone! At 6:30 pm, I received a call from driver finally admitting that he was the one who damaged my car.... 5 days after the fact!!! By this time I had already brought my car into Gerber collision for estimate, $2600 was total! Thursday I again called owner and lo and behold he took my call! I told him about his driver ruining my door ( as if he didn't know) and he says "He'll take care of it"! Well , I picked up my car on Thursday , September 19 and I paid my $100 deductible and got my car! So, I spent $2600 + $65 for tow of which $165 came out of my pocket and as of today... Walsh owner never did ANYTHING for me.. no apology, no reimbursement, no NOTHING!! Despicable people! Driver and OWNER didn't have the GUTS to MAN up and admit fault or anything else!!! I have a 76 Toyota Landcruiser that I have parked in Tinley Park. I couldn't get an idle problem fixed and called around to every shop within a 10 mile radius. None said they had the experience to work on something that old. One shop said they could attempt it for 160/hr. A friend told me about Walsh's, and when I called, they did not hesitate to say they could do the work. I took it in to Brian..not sure who did the work, but the truck now runs perfectly and the cost was just right. I used them again a day or so later to tow the vehicle to be repaired to our mechanic who works out of his garage.
