Today was my Lucky day! Walter was able to accommodate me on a "walk in" haircut. This is such a great shop and Walter and TJ are such great barbers that you are well advised to book online in advance. For an old timer like me it can seem like a hassle to plan ahead but in this case it is worth it! Even the old school Vibe of the shop is a kick! As any frequent reviewer of my posts know, I like to periodically (annually) re-review my reviews as things can change. Sometimes businesses close, get bad, or sometimes, better. This is one of those posts. Yes, I know I've been bad about checking in, but I just had a son, so I've been a bit busy. Plus, since the Pandemic, we've been getting deliveries from here more than actually picking stuff up. Master Barber Walter Geribo is an excellent barber, and I'm going to miss being able to go to this place now that we've moved back to Texas. This is a traditional barber shop that feels like you've traveled back in time, but in a good way. During our first visit, my lovely fiancé called him on a rainy Saturday when I was feeling a little rough around the edges, and we were driving through Onset. Of course, as a Yelp household we looked and saw the awesome reviews. It was a Saturday with a small line ahead of me, but I was grateful he takes walk ins. He takes his time to make sure you are happy and also moves quick, if that is what you want. I had my hair buzzed and my beard trimmed. He also said he offers straight razor shaves, if he doesn't have a long line. I haven't been able to find a time where I can get one of these yet, but maybe the next time I go back, it'll work out. Would I recommend this place? Yes. After coming here a few times, I can say that this is a great barbershop with an even better barber. I think my buzz and trim was around $20. Street parking only, but there's plenty downtown. read more

I just wanted to say that this is the best barbershop I have ever been to and the owner Walter provided me with the most excellent and wonderful experience. Even though it was my first time here, I felt right at home. Both the staff and the customers were super nice and welcoming. It was raining cats and dogs today and the moment I stepped in the barbershop it was warm and toasty. Even though I did not know much about what my clipper settings are and which way I comb my hair, Walter was very patient and helpful with his suggestions. I felt very safe getting my hair cut here even during the pandemic and I am so happy I decided to come here! My hair looks better than ever and I will definitely be back in 4-6 weeks! Walt provides a welcoming service. I have been a couple of times and found that he seems to remember everyone's name. He remembered me. I think this is a basic barbershop - I doesn't have any of the fancy salon items. But that is exactly what I am looking for. One chair - so you may have to wait. But the waiting isn't a problem - he has great tunes playing in the background (for those of us old enough to remember the 60s and 70s). read more

What a great place. I am a cadet at the Massachusetts Maritime Academy, and not only does Walter treat us well, he goes above and beyond for all of his clients. I was with my friend today and he stopped by Walter's to get a quick haircut. He is leaving in less than a week for Army basic training, and Walter was intrigued by this and carried on conversation. Following the haircut, Walter took care of the bill for my friend and it was incredible (My friend was very thankful and talked about it for hours!).
