Unfortunately, I asked for a pair of trousers to be shortened by an inch for each leg and have the waist tightened by an inch. The legs were ok but nothing done to the waist. Also, he insisted on cash only. It would have been nice if he told me the week before when I dropped off the pants. Then when I paid, I asked for a receipt so I could claim this repair on my clothes as a work expense, I got abused and he refused to give me any proof of repairs on a receipt or invoice. Extremely poor customer service and I didn't receive the full service I asked for on my clothing. Avoid this place for any tailoring or clothing repairs. read more

Excellent attention to detail and very friendly. I did not realize that the shop did not take debit/credit cards but I was given my tailored suit and told to stop back whenever I could with cash or check. This guy is brutal !!!!! Brought in a couple pair of pants. One pair to lengthen the other to take in waist and take out pleats. He brutalized the one pair of pants which are no unwearable. Additionally it took him 15 mi Utes to find my clothes. I had my copy of ticket which had $80.00 for the repairs, when it came time to pay he asked for $190.00. Thankfully I tried on the pants and when I saw what he did to them I told him I wasn't paying anything for those repairs but did ask what I owed him for the lengthening. He told me to get out and not come back. The guy is losing it and I'd suggest not going anywhere near the shop. If I could give 0 stars I would. This is a day later. This guy actually called the house and threatened me !!! Saying I stole his money and he was calling the Police. STEER CLEAR !!!!! I wrote and mailed a check for the original $85.00. Very talented tailor. Before you go in make sure to have an idea what you want done and direct him accordingly. Remember, he works for you. We differed in the past on pants length, and going forward I made sure to dictate exactly how much break I desired for my pants. Walter altered by daughter's cheerleading costume quickly and for an extremely reasonable price ($25 for major alternations). I even needed him to re-alter it a little because it was a little tight in one place (not Walter's fault at all- we should have asked initially for it to be loser in the legs), and he did it within a few hours and did not charge me anything extra. Went in to have one button moved over on a sportcoat. When I went in to pick it up the next week, they charged $45, in cash only, just for moving over one button, which is ridiculous. I should have asked in the first place, but who would have thought anyone would charge $45 to move over one button? Perhaps they figure that since someone purchased a high end and relatively expensive jacket, that they can screw them over on such a basic service; this is really taking advantage of the consumer. i would give 4.5 stars if the rating system allowed it. But with some caveats: Walter is a little different. You might have to accept this in order to feel comfortable dealing with him. It might require some patience. I have used him about 6 times for various things over last 2 years. I keep going back. He's a real tailor, the real deal. But he can be a little 'scattered'. What I have learned is to carefully and deliberatively explain what I want, and not leave until I think I really understand exactly what we are agreeing to. He did once forget about my order, when it was supposed to be done. But the work itself is the best. He's good. There's nothing he can't do. I trust his work. read more

If there was the ability for me to give this guy zero stars, I would have. I brought a Robert Graham Leather Blazer and a Andrew Marc Shearling for him to repair a pocket on the one and just fix the stitching on the other. Simple stuff. The two coats cost a combined $3,000. He told me that they would be done Friday. I showed up the following Monday to pick them up and at first he couldn't find them. Then after coming back from the back room, he said that he told me that they were to be done on Tuesday when my receipt had clearly written on it that it would be Friday. THEN IT GOT WORSE! As I looked in the corner of the front room of his shop, my two coats were on the FLOOR. It was obvious that he had just lied to me as he didn't even still know where the coats were at that point. When I pointed them out, he picked them up and dropped them right back down and then said for me to pick them up after 2:00pm, today, Monday. I left stunned but decided to just go back and take them elsewhere. He was not even apologetic and instead told me to look at the carpeted floor of his shop and see how clean it was. It was one thing for him to have been late in finishing the repair, OK, it happens. It was another thing to have misplaced the items, not cool but again, it happens. But to just throw my things on the floor and treat them like garbage, Avoid this guy at all costs. There are better places to be found anywhere. read more
