When I arrived today they said they wouldn't do it because it wasn't a jacket zipper and they couldn't manage it until the fall because they wanted to do wedding dresses which I assume is more money for them. I had the best experience at Sewing by Suzy! This was recommended through a Facebook group I was a part of and was so happy to have found this place. Suzy is very responsive to messages! She's very kind, but most importantly she is very flexible! She let me come in whenever I could make it work (within her hours of operation obviously), and was so accommodating. It's a bit out of the way for me, living in South Milwaukee, but not so much that it was a nuisance. I didn't mind making the drive for great work. And great work it was! I came in to get a wedding dress altered. She was very knowledgeable about what needed fixing and listened to what I wanted done. I only gave her a months notice and she was able to accommodate that. The alterations were crazy pricey but I luckily had budgeted for it, so it wasn't a big deal. My dress ended up looking amazing on me! And my dress was all black, so it was a tricky alteration! I will definitely be seeking out Suzy from here on out for any alterations that I need in the future. read more

Best tailor on the south end of the metropolitan area. The location so far east and the slightly high prices are the reason for only four stars. The quality of work and turn around time are excellent. It is a little hard to compare prices, there aren't any mid quality mid price tailors or alteration services I've found in the Milwaukee area. There's overpriced mediocre, and overpriced excellent, so I guess I'm stuck with the overpriced excellent tailor here. Ample convenient parking. read more

They always get the job done: Quality, Turn Around, Pricing, Friendly, etc. I have never had to worry or second guess if the alterations were done correctly. Only reason I didn't give 5 stars was the cups that were sewed in and the top part of my dress wasn't tight against my chest. Maybe she could have fixed it if she had more time. I thought the dress was not going to be fixable, because it was heavily beaded after it had been sewn and it had unusual sleeves that were too big. I have found there is nothing she can't do-at least in my estimation. She is exceptionally talented, very kind and caring and goes the extra mile to make sure you are happy with the work she has done for you. If you don't believe me, go and see for yourself. The other ladies in her shop are very good as well. You just don't come across seamsestresses that are this good in your area.
