Great service and great people. They are incredibly thorough and meticulous with the clothes I have brought in. There was a dress I had completely stained to filth and I honestly had no expectations to get the stains out since I literally let it sit for a week and made no effort to get the stains out. I only took it in because I wanted it cleaned in general, and [[HIGHLIGHT]]they called me the next day letting me know they couldn't get the stains out completely yet but wanted more time to try to get it out (I asked for next day service).[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I let them know it's totally fine for more time since I only needed a different item (pants for my husband) the next day, but that the stains are not a big deal to me since they're pretty set in the dress. They told me they would want to at least try and oh my gosh, the dress looked new! They said they didn't get all of the stains out, but to be honest, I haven't found any stains remaining. I will admit, the price is higher than the dry cleaner I used to go to (provided at a discount through my old company), but the quality I get here is beyond any other cleaners I have been to. My dad used to be a dry cleaner so I know how back breaking and un-profitable this business can be. I honestly feel like their prices are fair and I would not say it's "expensive". I would just classify it as fairly priced for the quality I get. I have high expectations when I bring my clothes here for alterations and cleaning and I know they will be met. Used them a couple times, one for alteration of jeans. The jeans ended up not being altered at the right length (way too long). I could have gone back but it was so bad I just took the pants to a different tailor who fixed my issue. Tried a second time for just dry cleaning a suit. It wasn't until I needed it again for a wedding that I realized the suit shrank from the dry cleaning and doesn't fit anymore.. No one has commented on their Tailoring and I am AMAZED. My daughter was measured wrong and Figure Skating costume was big enough to fit two people into. I was expecting it to cost a lot to get it tailored, but the job they did was worth twice the price they charged! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The owner even gave me a discount bc his daughter used to figure skate too and he felt bad for a mess-up in sizing.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] This was professional seamstress work. I've been in Northbrook for decades and recently tried Dunbrook, the experience was remarkable. My white duvet cover was restored to its original whiteness!!! I had this cleaned at three other cleaners over the years including expensive Zenglers and none of them could remove the yellowing from body oil/sweat. The zipper also broke while it was being cleaned and even though it really wasn't their fault, Steve replaced it no charge. My father-in-law passed and left a beautiful white Brioni dinner jacket to my husband, but it had spots. I took it to our local cleaner in Lake Geneva and they could not get the spots out. I read a review that Dunbook Cleaners was good at getting spots out so I brought it to them. The owner was so nice and said he couldn't promise, but would try. He got the stains out!! I just had the most refreshing experience at Dunbrook Cleaners. You don't generally get this level of customer service and, more importantly honesty, any more these days. I brought in several items and the owner told me that, unfortunately, he could not clean these particular items and told me why. He then proceeded to give me advice as to how I can get them cleaned on my own. He explained that, if he were to send some of the items out to his service provider, not only would it take 3 weeks' time, but it would cost me a lot more money. I brought in a champagne colored sequined jacket that had red wine spilled all over the front. Steve didn't say yes, but he didn't say no. I left it there with fingers crossed and expecting the worst. When I went in to pick it up, I was greeted by a smile and a clean jacket. When I picked up the sweater, it looked like new. John and his staff do on-site, high quality cleaning. Since I pay a bit more for my clothes, I don't mind paying a bit more for the cleaning as the results are always excellent. If you don't have the time/patience to read this review in its entirety then know that I can't recommend Dunbrook Cleaners & Tailors highly enough; the quality of their work and level of customer service are both excellent. I moved to Wheeling 18 months ago and needed to find a local dry cleaning service; after reading online reviews, it was obvious that Dunbrook is the best option. The face of the company is a gentleman called Steve who is very courteous and professional. On my second visit to Dunbrook, Steve greeted me by name; even after I had not visited Dunbrook for several months Steve still remembered my name, imagine how many customers he must have dealt with in that time. The quality of cleaning is always excellent and ready either on-time or ahead of schedule. I needed to get a shirt cleaned in a hurry and offered to pay more for a quick turn-around but Steve charged me the same amount; no nickel and diming of his customers. I've had some cleaners actually write my name on the inside of shirts; none of that here. Each garment gets its own i.d. tag that is stapled through a button hole or belt loop, nothing to damage or mark your garments. Steve also welcomes the return of his hangers so they can be reused. I'm going to be moving to Chicago in a few days but will continue to patronize Dunbrook Cleaners & Tailors, that should tell you all you need to know about the quality of this business. read more
