Carry's out work on your vehicle without your permission and charges you for it. Runs test on your vehicle without your acknowledgement. Runs a diagnostic test without my consent and pressure test. All for just a qoute, then yell at me saying "Are you a mechanic?" Repeatedly. I never asked him to run any tests on my car. Carried it out without telling me. Should never of gone to him, now I've lost money :'(

No frills, no free coffee, no glossy magazines to read while you wait... What I did get was competitive pricing, advice, squeezed me in within 3 days and a loan car into the bargain. Busy, knowledgable, and honest - everything a good independent garage should be.

Booked an A service meaning a full service and asked for brakes to be checked as high pitched squeel when braking. Called to tell me car was ready and told nothing wrong with brakes as 'there brand new' told them they had been on for 2 years as they fit them please check properly. Said they would take for a test drive (why wasn't this done already?) called me back a few hours later and advised it was ready to pick up. Got there earlier than I said I would on the phone as they said they shut at half 4 when Google says 5. I turn up and they are taking it for 'a test drive' (2 people with a jump pack) 1 came back (meaning they used my car as a run around). He got back and said they might have something stuck in them just drive it off. (Firstly if you removed the brakes during your check when you said they were "brand new" this would be gone surely!) Secondly I asked if they checked them during the service which I was when I was advised they just changed the oil and it was booked for a B/minor service. Looking at paperwork only oil and filter and plug was changed. In what world do you only change oil during any service look online at what an actual B/minor/2 - check lights, exhaust, brakes, , fluids and possibly belts and change air&pollen filter Can confirm non of this was done and no health check sheet provided.

There were no issues with the service, however I am not exactly an expert when it comes to cars :) Still going strong so I suppose it was OK. One thing that did annoy me was that when I took it for an MOT 3 weeks after the service they failed my car because of a tyre, they did not pick this up when they did the service and I don't exactly do a lot of distance in 3 weeks. They did also fit a waterpump to an older car that I had (I supplied the parts and they fitted it) which was quite reasonable.

I did note the persons name to mention them personally but have since lost it so for that i apologise to them! As is often the case a number of things at once went wrong with my car. Having found out the parts i needed (but not knowing too much about cars), i asked one of the men working there who gladly helped me find what i needed - and even suggested ways in which i could save some money through different brands / deals in store. The cost of repairs / replacements can often mount up without realising so the aprox 20% i saved on what i would have spent was most welcome.. thank you
