So I called them again and the car was still not ready. I called them again around 4 PM and was informed that the car needed a ball joint and they were installing it WITHOUT calling me and getting my approval WHICH IS ILLEGAL. They 'hoped' they could get it done by closing time. It took them ALL DAY for a simple job and the bill was more than twice what I was quoted. They had no reason not to call me and let me know what was going on. Needless to say I was furious. Buyer beware at this garage!

Owner is ageist. If you're there long enough, pay attention to how he treats people differently…read morebased on their age. The younger they are, the more disrespectful he is towards them. Even towards his own daughter. He gets more respectful as they get older. He couldn't keep the car he sold me working for more than two weeks. He kept trying to blame it on me for not putting the right kind of coolant in the engine, even though his workers were the only ones putting coolant in because it had to keep getting serviced every two weeks. There must be some bigger problem if it keeps breaking down that frequently over multiple months. I asked if there could be a leak, since he seemed to think bi-weekly it had to keep being refilled, but he insisted that couldn't be the case. He refused to look deeper into it. I get the impression he was taking me for a sucker. I'm left to assume his ageism led him to see me as young and vulnerable. That car had so many other issues, like a leaky roof which was damaging the internals. He tried to blame that on me too. The air conditioning and heating never worked. The fuel tank had other issues. Never buy from this guy. He has no idea what he's doing, and will blame what he can't understand on others. He did not keep his promise to fix for free any issues experienced with the car in the first few weeks, unless it was really cheap like replacing the key battery. He was likely trying to blame everything else on me to weasle out of his deal. Even if you are older and bought your car elsewhere, I would suggest you stay away. My grandfather took his vehicle in for inspection to make sure it was all running correctly before a big trip. Only a few days after, it broke down. What was the point of the inspection? Did they even do the work? Did they break it during the inspection? If you have insurance, he will, in his own words, "milk them for all they're worth". He treats his customers the same way. As an example, when he sells you a car, he will fill it with just enough gas to get you across the street to his own gas station, tricking you into paying him again. Anywhere else would give you a full tank. He will slap a bumper sticker on your car with his advertising without asking. There will be no warning. He will just do it because he does not respect you. His prices may seem cheap up front, but you get what you pay for. You'll end up paying more than twice what you would elsewhere on return visits from all his corner cutting.

They took me to Northern Tire, and very quickly approached me and asked me what I needed. I also badly needed new tires, so I took this opportunity to get a set from them. I have been shopping around for a while and when I asked about the tires I wanted, the prices were very comparable to that of Tirerack.com. They told me they would get all the studs and tires next morning and that it should be ready by noon that day. 11:00am rolled around, and they called me and told me my vehicle was ready. The repairs were done, and they balanced my wheels and mounted my new tires without a problem! No waiting, just came in, paid my very reasonable bill of the repairs and went off with my day (it would've only been a little bit cheaper if I bought the studs myself and did the repairs). Lifetime of tires gets free rotations. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. I would definitely recommend doing business with them!
