I came there with my shovel and just grabbed everything I needed as you just go up and grab it. No one is there to help you. You just bring a shovel and a pale and get what you need. I was amazed that I could get through it. I thought it was going to be a lot of work because gravel is pretty heavy. However, this is a great place and the guy working inside was so nice and helpful. Remember the only take cash or checks no credit card I learned that upon going there and I have a friend who's going to go back and get a load in his truck and bring it to the house so I have plenty of it for the future. This is also just a great place to go because they offer other Ground coverings and services. I happen to go to the Hair Salon that his wife owns and that's also a great place too. My home is over 60 years old and I had been having problems with the sewer connection for some…read moretime. I had a new cleanout installed by another company and they said the problem was solved but the sewer backed up again. Ports came out and used a much better camera to diagnose the problem and I could see that the old connection was broken. It was not cheap, but worth the cost, to have them dig up the connection to the main sewer and replace the old concrete pipe with modern pvc and Fernco adapters. The work was done in about a half day and they left the excavation completely filled and compacted and ready for the paving company to replace the asphalt. They had the best equipment and tools and some really hard working people. I also got to see a hydrovac in use for the first time. I would call them any time for any kind of excavation work.

This was my first time doing a project of this size for myself. I wanted a 30'x50' metal RV garage built on a concrete slab with an 80' asphalt driveway on my 5 acre property. I contracted for surveying, engineering, geotechnical support, and worked with the county for all permitting. After selecting my metal building contractor, I called Leo's company for an estimate after seeing the many positive reviews he had on Google and Yelp. In the excavating, concrete, and asphalt areas, I had a difficult time finding single contractors that did all three areas. Besides Leo's estimate, I was able to obtain one other. Other contractors would say they worked in all three areas but upon visiting my site, they would say they just did one area but had contacts that could provide estimates in the other areas. Leo's site visit and subsequent interactions put me completely at ease. He had done his homework, deep diving the plans I had sent him. His estimate was in the ballpark of the other and he provided pictures of his other jobs that proved that he had more than enough expertise to complete my project. Over the course of my project, I came to rely upon Leo to help me overcome obstacle after obstacle due to my inexperience working across the trades and with the county. In one example, we had a conference call to talk to the engineer to determine how best to build up the ground to make it level for the slab with a mostly level driveway that would drain properly, and T'd from the original driveway. In another example, I did not find the building permit on the county's electronic system until after the concrete slab had been poured. The first geotechnical report had made "suggestions" that the county made "mandatory" in the building permit, one of which was having a geotechnical expert write an assessment after the forms were constructed and before concrete was poured. I was able to have the geotechnical engineer visit the site and inspect after the fact. Leo made himself available to answer questions and he had pictures of the rebar and forms. A positive report was developed that satisfied the county. Leo told me that he likes jobs that are my size and up to 12 homes at a time so he can be responsive to his commitments. For me, he was on site when he said he would be. The size of his crew was always right for the job at hand and no one was ever not fully engaged. If you have a major self-funded project and are looking for someone you can trust on your team, look no farther than Leo Lopez and Lovaz Excavating LLC.

We've been using Conser Quarry for years now…read more David is an excellent driver for Conser, he can manipulate that Mack Truck like nobody's business. His ability to get the gravel exactly where I want it and the evenness of the spread he can do is phenomenal. The office staff are always pleasant to deal with and their communication skills are excellent. Their scheduling is incredibly punctual. When they say between 8-9am, you better be ready by 8am. Our driveway is very rural and approximately 1/3 of a mile long. Originally our driveway was just a rough base of some gravel mixed with dirt. We started with '3/4 minus' (3/4" gravel with gravel dust). Over the years the the potholes always returned during the rainy season. Conser Quarry has it all, so we switched over to '3/4 open'. '3/4 open' is still the same size gravel but without the gravel dust. In many situations the gravel dust consolidates like concrete and helps convert your driveway into an almost paved one. Our ground here though gets so soft during the rains that we switched to the open gravel. This material then presses down into the mud and builds up a strong support layer. Now our driveway and turnaround no longer get muddy or potholes. We get a couple loads of '3/4 open' every few years to build up the base. Now our driveway is sufficiently higher than the field and is above the winter mud.

We had an 800 ft driveway that is about 25 feet wide. But over the years, despite our efforts to beat back the foliage and erosion, the driveway got narrower to just about 10 ft. We needed it widened and some of the curves softened out, We also needed a turn around area/parking pad close to our home. Chris did both and it turned out beautifully. Sculpted a road/driveway to nearly two lanes again. And now we have a big place to turn around in with two layers of rock lying below. We were very impressed.
