Honestly, you just really have to see it to believe it! in short, the Empie family bought the property in 1974, then hired a New Mexico architect to build a home in and around the boulders...the end result is this great home! The Empies sold the house to the Yavapai in 2005, who generally rent out the home for events. That's where the "WHO you know" part came in as far as getting a personal tour of this amazing place...our uncle does a lot of catering events, so he "knows" people. Lucky for us! It was just the four of having the whole place to ourselves...it was a wonderful experience. I've attached a few photos, but the pics don't do this place justice. It's almost like walking thru Fred Flintstone's house, except updated furnishings and amenities :) Oh, and you can't beat the views...I love the desert views and landscapes. So peaceful. If you ever get the chance to visit this place, please do yourself a favor and do so. If you like it half as much as I did, you'll leave happy :)

We opted for the all in package where Boojum coordinated with their preferred venders to handle about 90% of the arrangements and for a VERY reasonable price. Everyone brought their A game!! Food was delicious, music was fantastic (even with a last minute DJ swap due to an emergency), and the grounds were stunning! They did everything right. Multiple beautiful backdrops available for the big day. We chose the grand fountain but soooo many other great options. Even the little things. Everyone warned us how hard it is to eat on your wedding day but as soon as we left the ceremony area to the backstage, there was a waiter for my wife and I along with the bridal party with appetizers and drink orders. Jennifer the day of works as your wedding coordinator and she does a fantastic job! Everything was so well run and on time as well. Everyone told me this was the best venue and the best experience they ever had at a wedding and I know it wasn't just them being nice! If you're the type of person who wants to be able to say you got married at Wrigley, fine. If you haven't been there, then you definitely need to pay it a visit. However, for a wedding venue, it was a bit odd. Maybe this was the fault of the coordinator? First the good things! The customer service really was great! The staff managing the bar area were super friendly and great to talk to at every visit! The food served was delicious, no complaints at all! The decor and aesthetics were wonderful for the venue and the Arizona area. The area in the main part of the venue, were the ceremony took place was lovely and shaded. There was a fountain and surrounded by lovely trees and structures. As with all venues, hosting a wedding with a cash or cash-less bar, this venue fell into the same issue. The alcohol not in bottles or cans just had to be watered down. There is no possible way our friends and myself had as many vodka mixed drinks, we are talking about over 10 or 11 at least for myself, and never even got a buzz. This seemed to be the consensus. The other issue was just the layout. The covered area / enclosed structure where the dinner took place was large and spacious. It was decorated with plants and man made areas that were lovely and it kept everyone together, socializing, and simply having fun. When that was done we were moved to an area behind the bar/sitting structure for live DJ and dance floor. This was simply counter productive to encouraging that togetherness and partying. instead it had various separate and distinct fire pits with covered areas and seating around each one. This pretty much cause the wedding party to all separate into their own clicks and neither one really interacting unless you were directly related/known to them some how. The dance floor was a raised gazebo area, which was lovely. However, from where some of the fire pits were, you had no view of who was dancing or if anyone was dancing. The DJ played a great playlist but she could have been definitely more interactive.

The Chateau Luxe is an award-winning venue in North Phoenix often used for weddings and other special events. The event I attended was an annual fundraiser for an organization important to me, and it provided the organization with the opportunity to increase the number of attendees from just over 300 people to nearly 500 people. From the moment my wife and I arrived and used the valet, we were impressed how smooth of a process it was to leave our car and later pick it up. We were prepared for a very long wait at the valet like it had been at events where we really had no choice but to use valet, though we were even more impressed when no one had to wait for very long as there were so many people working and cars were arriving as quickly as the valet cards were given. This small touch made a huge difference. When we walked into the venue itself, there were tables set up along a large entrance area allowing us to check in before walking into a very large open area, where a bar was set up right in the middle with high tables, seating, or just open areas to stand and talk and catch up with new and old friends and colleagues alike. From that area, we moved into a large ballroom with a stage after our cocktail hour ended. The ballroom was set up with more than fifty tables, and the dinner was a plated meal. Compared to other venues we have used, it certainly felt more spacious and not crowded at all. Attending a vendor conference in the Phoenix-area, the last night of the conference was a private party on the Desert Foothills grounds. While Phoenix was suffering through an unseasonably cold winter, the amenities of Desert Foothills didn't dampen anyone's spirits in the slightest. From the retro, ranch-like "Welcome" sign, to the warm and welcoming firepits and patio heaters spread generously throughout the grounds, the venue had everything you could ask for in an open air space. Burros wearing cooler saddles entertained--and refreshed--the attendees, and clever miniature buckets containing everything you needed to make s'mores were nice touches. If you did get too cold, the barn area was very warm and toasty, with an impressive light display and plenty of room for dining, mingling, and a live musical performance (one that, with superior sound and speakers throughout the venue, you could hear clearly no matter where you were). Again, everything was top-notch and I'm jealous of anyone that hosts their event here in the future! In the end, I'm really disappointed that I don't live in the Phoenix area as I would love to host or attend more events here.

The support from the staff was great as far as getting access to everything needed for setup both inside and out. The location is unique as it gives you the ability to truly transform your ideas and shape your image.
