During our research before we left we saw a video talking about Bunsen. Just seeing the high quality of the ingredients made it one of our must try stops in Dublin. As we do when traveling, we start and end the day eating throughout the day. We popped into Bunsen to finally try the legendary burger around 4:30 pm. Because we were there at such an odd hour, we were the only people there. When you visit Ireland, the pub culture is real and most pubs start to get quite busy around 5:30 pm. Since Bunsen isn't a pub and wasn't located in a particularly touristy area , it didn't surprise me they were empty at that time of day. What stuck out the most at first was the super friendly service right from the door. We were sat at a small banquet of tables against the wall and checked out the menu from QR code link on the table. We were there for their original burger so that is what we ordered. No sides and water to drink. I couldn't be filling up too much yet. It was pretty early after all and we had a lot of places to stop yet. The menu isn't huge. They focus on doing one thing well and keep it at that. I like a restaurant that doesn't try to be everything. Our burger came out within 10 min and it was juicy, hot and fresh. Presented beautifully wrapped. We shared this one burger because, we knew we had lots of food to eat later. Immediately after eating the last bite I wanted to order another. It was really that good. Such perfection! This will be the burger I compare all others in Ireland to.

I would highly recommend Bunsen Burgers. Very friendly staff and quick service. We sat on the patio and it was a beautiful day, quiet, easy to have a conversation between the four of us. The key as I see it is they have a specialized menu where they can be the best. You can feel the love they have for the Hamburger and fries.

I was totally surprised by my visit to Box Burger yesterday. Infact so much so that it ticked all…read moreof the boxes relatively speaking. We went without a booking and were swiftly ushered to the cool bar area to wait on a table for a couple of minutes forgoing the option to plonk our butts in the high stools at the counter. Whilst here we were furnished with drinks menus and the manager asked us were there any beers we may be interested in. I said I had never tried Victory Brewing headwaters before and promptly a sample appeared before us and the same was the case with the Camden Hells Unfiltered lager. We didnt even have to ask to try them & I usually dont so it was a really nice touch. More akin to a drink with friends than the olden days where every droplet was treated like 50cents in the register, this paved the way for a nice afternoon sit down. The burgers and fries were delicious with my double burger forged with cheese, pineapple, a fried egg, two succulent beef patties and dressing being a mammoth meal on its own before being accompanied by the mouth watering chips lightly sprinkled with cajun spices. They also do cooked chickens rotisserie style rotating away in front of your very eyes in a fashion that would give any hipsters french bulldog a dizzy spell of vertigo watching the skewers rotate through the glass doors of the ovens like a culinary merry go-round. The staff are genuinely friendly here and appear to enjoy their job which in turn made me feel relaxed and thoroughly enjoy my pig out. Shamelessly. I will just include a picture of dessert for you to lust over, its beauty alone could be compared to that of a lamborghini poster/baywatch poster/(insert childhood poster). It doesnt need an explanation the beauty is in looking at it but unlike your childhood poster this beauty is attainable on the seafront in Bray at a reasonable price. So bounce along like Pamela Andersons assets on the Dart and hit up this delightful spot on Bray seafront

The Scarlet Vetter says...we went in search of a great burger in Dublin. Sooooo many choices. After…read morereading about a gazillion Yelp reviews, we decided on Bujo. Boasting the best of Irish beef and a "nothing but burgers" menu, we headed off to this iconic Dublin burger joint. It is surely no frills. Tucked in the wall, no elegance to speak of, BUT they are all about the burgers, for sure. I ordered the double cheeseburger with bacon (after all, if going for a cardiac arrest burger, you need to do it proud) and the crinkle cut Bujo fries. I asked for the three sauce selection and chose Siaracha Mayo, Burbon BBQ and the Roasted Garlic Aioli. I ordered a draft beer. IMHO, a burger without a beer in Ireland is sacrilegious. My husband, being the pagan he is, opted for a chocolate milkshake with oreo crumbs (what??) The joint has a condiments bar where you can add jalapeños, crispy onions and other such to your meal. It is self serve for ordering and you are given a table placard for the table to await a server who does bring your meal. The burgers were distinctly charbroiled and flavorful. The fries were.....well, meh.....the sauces definately added value to the fries. The sliced jalapeños were delicious, as were the sauces. I really enjoyed them. I would have given this place four stars for being in the keeping of what it is--a hole in the wall burger joint. However, for someone who is not price sensitive on food at all, I was a bit taken aback by the price. In USD, essentially $65 for two burgers, two decent drinks and 2 fries. That was with tip, but wilthout VAT. The table was sticky and the bathroom was dingy. So the 3 stars is about right. I would definately recommend this place for a good burger but be prepared to carry a loaded wallet and skip the drinks and sauces to keep it affordable.
