Excellent Buffet We've been to many oriental buffets and most fall into the fair to somewhat good range. This place rates a 5 stars for oriental buffets - for selections and flavor. Too many buffets have dishes that are bland or blah. Everything we tried had good flavor and we tried many items. It's impossible to not notice the extensive sushi bar. Sushi containing raw seafood have signs for those that are concerned. Numerous California type rolls were available and I tried several. All very good and fresh. There's a Hibachi grill at the end of the sushi bar where Mr. Hibachi will cook up whatever you like. One cold bar had peel and eat shrimp, boiled crayfish and mussels. There were several hot bars with all kinds of dishes. We were impressed with how many shrimp dishes were offered, each slightly different. A noteworthy dish was a cold shrimp salad with diced jalapenos, mango, boiled shrimp, cilantro and some kind of sweet sour dressing. My wife loved it! I am a Hot and Sour soup person and their soup was good. Not particularly hot or sour, but had a good flavor with lots of 'stuff' in it. They also had poached Swai, or Basa, or similar whitefish in a broth that I always enjoy. Dessert selections were numerous and an ice cream freezer had a great selection of goodies. They pay a lot of attention to keeping the food areas clean and trays stocked. Cold food was cold, hot food was hot, as it should be. The dining seating area is very large and sitting areas, food areas and restrooms were spotless and clean. We liked it and we will go back. I've seen other reviews where people were not happy, but everyone's entitled to their opinion. And by the way, adults eat dinner for $16.99. Soda or soft drink is $2.95. I've been here five times, and my experience has declined each time. I can't even begin to start explaining what's wrong with this place. The food was ice cold. The meat was tough and stringy. The General Tso's was somehow both rubbery and soggy, with the mouth-feel of a cold sponge. The vegetable fried rice was stale and chewy in a way that can only be described as sandy. I enjoyed my first two experiences here. The following three were each worse than the last, with my most recent trip last Saturday being so bad I couldn't clean my plate. I don't want this place to fail. I didn't even think of leaving a negative review until that aforementioned last experience definitely gave me food poisoning. Be cautious dining here. read more

One of the better Asian buffets that I've been to in the almost-post-COVID age, Wanfu was clean and very well stocked with a good variety of food. I particularly appreciate that they have disposable gloves available if you're looking to avoid touching shared tongs and scoops though most folks didn't seem to care. It's Florida! Lots of choices for sticking with proteins including baked cheesy seafood, chicken and broccoli, beef and peppers and black pepper pork. The steamed vegetables and soups looked good too. None of the trays seemed to be empty for very long on this weekend afternoon with someone refilling and restocking almost constantly. Wanfu has a large selection of sushi and I thought it was pretty good. Many choices for both maki and nigiri, nicely presented and fresh. They could maybe change out the serving tools a bit more often, especially the ones service the more "sauced" rolls. But the plates looked clean and the fish was fresh. I did not try the hibachi cook-to-order because it's usually overly sauced and I'm trying to avoid unknown sauces. My waiter cleared dirty plates often and kept my drink refilled. Poor sushi selection, mostly just a bunch of variations of California rolls. Chicken and Broccoli and chow mein noodles tasted fishy. These are basic Chinese food staples that were not well madeFood looked as if it been sitting out for hours. If you eat here and like it, your palate is not well seasoned. The food was stone cold and tasted like dirt I had about 3 items total (because I couldn't stomach it in the slightest) and it was $42 for 2 people. THAT IS $42 THROWN AWAY. Absolutely disgusting. This is the first time I've ever asked for a refund at a restaurant. The food is absolutely disgusting. The sushi looked horrible and I was afraid to even touch it let alone eat it. A very small buffet to begin with. The amount of oil on the food that I did take made me sick to my stomach, and after just a few bites, the whole table agreed this was not the right place to go and eat. When I first heard about Wanfu Buffet opened in the neighborhood recently, my first reaction was, "Oh no, another Chinese Buffet!" We've been to many Chinese Buffets with price ranging from $11 to $35 in different US localities. So, we approach this Chinese Buffet with zero expectation and let our experience set the watermark! We were invited as a party of six for lunch by our neighbors. Impressed with the food taste, we went back for dinner to see the difference in offering. This is a brand-new establishment so it is clean and staff serve promptly. It is divided into, three different seating area with booths and tables. The buffet serving area and the kitchen are in the back! Five medium buffet serving island or area, sushi prep area with a Hibachi grill are available. As observed, instead of replenished the hot food with a huge batch, it is done with a smaller batch but at the frequent basis. This is positive and the fresh hot food taste better instead of sitting on the steam tables! The price is set at $10.99 for lunch and $13.99 for dinner. The dinner has more selection of grilled and seafood items like mussels and oysters. Out of habit, I always start my meal with a plate of sushi and Maki rolls. The Tuna (Maguro), Salmon, Eel (Unagi), Egg Omelet and Rainbow roll, Dream roll and other specialty rolls are fresh and went well with my mixture of Wasabi and Soy sauce! The shrimps, clams and crayfishes are on a bed of ice ready for lunch. For dinner, additional mussels and oysters are piled on top of ice. They are fine! They served what they called kimchee but instead make with fermented vegetables like Napa Cabbage and daikon radish with seasoning like Gochugaru, scallions, garlic, ginger and jeotgal, it is more Napa Cabbage pickled with vinegar and little seasoning. This is a milder form of Kimchee and I love the refreshing taste. They also have pickled daikon and carrot but they serve in slices instead my preferred shredded julienne style. Taste good but this is probably just my personal preference! The Coconut Shrimps are lightly coated and mixed with a light sauce. This is a hit with my family as my wife said, "I love that Coco Shrimp!" The garlic string beans are cooked perfectly, tasty yet crunchy without that mushy bite. Spring rolls, Mongolian Beef, pepper steak with onion, General Tso's Chicken and Orange Flavored Chicken are on point. A pork with a spicy sauce but I forgot the name was a delightful addition to my plate. The sauteed crabs are fingers licking good! The pot sticker or fried dumpling was tasty but we did not try their hot and sour soup or the Hibachi! For dessert, we have their sweet bean bun and mini sesame balls. My wife loves the black bean sweet bun while I love the lotus bean paste sweet bun. The mini sesame ball is the right sized! You have a bit without overfilling your belly! Cheese cake, chocolate mousse, variety of layered cakes, rice pudding, sandwich pie pudding, are available to satisfy your sweet tooth! Surprised! we enjoyed our trip to Wanfu. One word describes Wanfu is "Tasty". One recommendation for management is to increase or vary the Chinese food selection or adding Ha Gar or other delicious Chinese food. First a note about the floors in the food area, they're slippery, be aware of this. I was wearing regular sneakers and it felt like I was going to slip every time I got on the floor. That being said, the food was good! The place had a good turn over and so the food was always fresh, nicely displayed and tasted good. The location is neatly decorated and the wait staff is friendly. Wanfu is a small, strip mall buffet, that's easy to miss from the road, which is probably why they have the sign spinners out on the main drag. Walking in the front door, I noticed some sort of an olfactory funk in the air, but I brushed it off. The interior, although welcoming, is also pretty small. Not as many options as a larger buffet, of course. There seemed to be just as many employees as there were customers. Many of employees were looking into their phones as they propped themselves up on a wall. The food was the standard AmerAsian buffet fare. A meat I selected from the steam table against the wall was lukewarm. It wasn't the only item that was cool to the touch. After I was done eating, it wasn't long before the bubble guts started and I needed to find a restroom. I don't feel a need to try Wanfu again. read more

Great find- many Sushi and some sashimi choices too. They request you wear s disposable glove and mask when serving yourself but not strictly enforced. Peel and eat shrimp but skip the mussels. This place was absolutely horrible. Everything was old and the options were disgusting. I've never given this type of review but please do not eat here. This place needs to be shut down by the health department. There was chicken and beef out in their "hibachi" area and it looked like it was rotting. I stopped in for lunch last week. I generally go to buffets for the variety, not the quantity, because I get filled up fast. This was my first visit to this fairly new restaurant. Usually the first thing I do is get some egg drop soup, and peel & eat shrimp. When I went to the soup area, I noticed they had seafood soup, which you don't normally see at buffets. I tried that, and it was very good. The shrimp was also plump & fresh, and the cocktail sauce was very tasty. Next I got a couple of crab rangoons, krab salad, sushi, a little lo mein & fried rice, and sampled some of the hot dishes. Everything was good. I was getting full now because of the rice, so I got a Chinese donut and what we used to call a "dixie cup" of strawberry ice cream. I liked everything I had, although I thought the price ($10.99?) was a little steep for lunch, but I imagine most people would probably eat more than I did. This is one of the best new restaurants in SWFL. The accommodate all tastes. If you are vegetarian, or vegan, or an omnivore, they have plenty of delicious dishes to suit your tastes. The staff is friendly and helpful. The owners are on site to make sure that your visit is superb. First time i been here in a long time because of the pandemic and what not. I was excited they reopen buffet because the take out they was doing i couldn't eat. I was disappointed because the food was dried out like it been sitting out under the lamps all day and not really if even barely edible. My waitress only removed plates one time and left us with empty drinks. I left hungry and disgusted for first time today. I have been here many times in past and know this is not normal. I am sorry this pandemic has hurt you so bad that you have let your quality suffer. I hope things get better for you soon but this is not the way. I hope you work on this and make things better. 10/28/2019: Visited Wanfu Buffet today, I'll keep it short, and simple. Pros: The restaurant is easy to get too, and it's clean and staff very pleasant Cons: Over priced for the quality, and selection of food. My experience was, the majority of the food was only slightly warm, and in some cases was cold. The rice had no flavor at all, and was just warm. The sushi at the service area was kept at room temp. I understood sushi should be kept chilled/cold at a temp. of around 40F. Bottom line, I will not be returning to this restaurant again. read more

This is a small Asian buffet. They have hot food, salads, sushi, hibachi, and some American fare for the kiddos. We loved eating there. You must wear a mask and gloves while at the buffet. Another Asian buffet but this one seemed fresher and much brighter lit. The food was as expected but mostly cold. In desparate need of better eating utensiles. Didn't include a knife. $2.75 for a soda is probably near average but still a little pricey for the place and the way it is served in a plastic glass. It may have been the day we were there but the clearing of the table service was terrible. We removed our own plates three times by placing the soiled dishes on a near by table. Never asked if we wanted more soda. When bill came we didn't know what to do with it. Do we place our credit card there and wait or take it up to the counter before leaving. We put our card in the tray and waited...and waited... and waited and finally hailed someone as asked if we pay oun the way out. Food quality is great. But they're often missing key components to the meal. For example they will have Gyoza but not Gyoza sauce, and their "sweet and sour sauce" is definitely not sweet n sour sauce. But their Egg Drop soup is to die for!
