The paint on the harp is beautiful and I can tell the craftsmanship is excellent. I also bought some sheet music, a harp strap, and a harp stand. I would highly recommend buying the stand and the strap. Also, you may want to call them if you're looking to purchase a harp that's already ready to ship. If you order on the website without asking them, you may have to wait for them to build the harp. I got my harp within a week from ordering though since they had my harp in stock.

I had my group harp lessons start back up tonight and I couldn't obtain a loaner so the decision was made ONLY TODAY to keep the harp as I had to have one for lessons. I am upgrading from 2 stars to 4 for the customer care taken by the General Mgr in contacting me and his team. Note: No other discount was offered though in keeping the harp. In time I hope I grow to love it. 2-26-19 Beautiful harps and handmade..I'm a beginner though so I can't really rate quality. I play several windwind instruments so this is completely different. HOWEVER, be EXTREMELY careful, and that may not help, when selecting your harp COLOR.  I selected a harp that was pictured as DARK DEEP PURPLE...LOVED IT!   I decided to change from black or red to the dark purple when I saw it!  It had some paint flaws, but I decided to go with it and deal with them with small amounts of leafing later on. ( I actually thought i.was receiving some type of special harp color since I had not seen the super dark purple displayed in their photos on their showroom floor that they take the pictures from and I was so thrilled to order it!.)  Upon receipt that harp was definitely MUCH, MUCH LIGHTER -  lavender lighter!  UHHHHH   VERY DISAPPOINTING!!!!   I tried moving the harp around the house in different lighting.  In summing up, I contacted Rees Harp regarding if this was the correct harp, yes it is.  After their description of how cool lighting vs warm lighting will make it look different they stated they would take it back for a full refund.  HOWEVER, I would NOT be refunded for the shipping so since it was $65.00 to get it to my house and I am assuming $65 to get it back to them it would be costing me $130 for a color difference.  I don't know how on Earth I am suppose to know that the harp will look that different in real life .If I'm in the dark at home, on the patio, with a big or small lamp or in blazing sunlight and it still looks lavender I don't know what more I can do to get dark purple.  VERY DISAPPOINTED . TAKING THE JOY AWAY FROM ME ON THIS LONG AWAITED DREAM HARP TO HAVE! I truly believe that they should be more responsible in this error or non-error as they would consider it.  I went with this company as my harp instructor at the hospital recommended them...led us to them.  My harp was a second, slightly damaged or paint SPOT flaws as defined, but definitely NOT the overall color problem.  Again, Rees Harps should have been more helpful in this situation..by just willing to refund the purchase price they really aren't taking any part in this process as they just turn around and off it to someone else, no extra cost to THEM just extra costs to ME.  If they had even tried to help in this situation and offered some other type of relief in this I think this might set better over time with me.  I'm sure they figure I won't throw away $130 on shipping costs to return (including the original ship to me cost) a basic harpsicle.  I mean why should they try to make a customer satisfaction discount/ adjustment based on they are covered.  I am shocked especially since they HAVE actually seen photos that show how large a color difference there is.  (They (Costumer ServiceS were actually kind enough to mark the paint flaws so I would know for sure they shipped the correct harp...which I was truly beginning to doubt.). I've got to say...of all the stained furniture pieces and items I own I have never seen such color differences that they show, even in different lighting.   So BE CAREFUL.  I'm not sure how to get the real color as it will look to you other than driving out to the shop in Rising Sun, Indiana, which is a bit far from California.  I have included a couple photos showing what I am explaining.

My…read moreelderly mother entered first and had an unpleasant encounter with the sales woman before I entered. She didn't tell me about it until later and I am writing this review on her behalf. When she asked for help from the woman, the woman was very curt and rude, as if she did not want to be bothered. It wasn't until my mother mentioned to her that she had previously purchased two pairs of shoes, that the woman's attitude softened. My mother's feeling was that perhaps the woman judged the way she looked and thought she could not afford the shoes. In any case, I don't think it's nice or wise to treat any customer like this. I was wanting to buy some shoes, but they do not carry sizes smaller than 6 and now I'm glad I did not. An unfortunate experience all the way around.

They had some nice MCM glassware and they had a room in the back that had clothing and then they had a rock and roll room all the way to the back which had many different items in it. I came into town to take a look at Kat Von D's black tulips that she planted in front of her mansion. This little shop was also selling black tulip stickers and they said they sold 250 of them last week and for currently out but they were taking pre-orders and would just mail them to you when they came in. Pretty cool, giving a little boost to a local business. They had a lot of nice antique furniture pieces and back near the clothing there was also a section where they had jewelry which is one of my weaknesses. I am sure next time I am in town that I will stop in here again because I know that I missed some items because I was in a little bit of a hurry.

About 25 years ago, I saw someone wearing a pair of Carl Dyer moccasins. They caught my eye…read morebecause they clearly were made to last. I ordered a pair of the double-soled Indian-style moc, and I've had them ever since. The mocs with the double-sole can be re-soled, and I did that once along the way. Once I broke them in, I couldn't wait to slip my feet into them when I got home at the end of the day, and that's still true after 25 years. I'm sending them back to be re-soled a second time, and they'll come back to me having been completely re-stitched with new outer soles, ready for another 10-15 years of daily wear. These mocs will outlast me.
