Wanita Holmes present herself as a doctor but do not be fooled, she did not earn a doctor degree who require years of training, study and to pass a state exam. She will also tell you she is licensed by the state of California, yet, another misleading Statment. Yes, she licensed maybe as a business which she has to be licensed just like any business do HOWEVER she is NOT licensed as a therapist. State of California DO NOT license or regulate hypnotherapist. EVERYONE can open an office and call him/herself hypnotherapist, as odd as it sound there is no regulations and no requirments. Period. I have had one session with so call doctor Wanita and I find her practice unethical And dengerouse to say the list. She has no knowlage of psychology and how the subconciouse work despit her years of experiance. We had 3 hr, session which in most of the time she talked about her self and her daughters. One of her daughters, I learned has the same eating disorder as I have and I wander why she can not help her own daughter. To cover for luck of knowlage she was patronizing, insulting and just simply rude in the name of "tough love" if a legitimate health practitioner would treat a client the way Wanita treated me his/her license will be revoke. but again, Wanita was not licensed by the state of Ca or any state so I have no way to make a complaint. Later I learned that hypnotherapy field is totally open to everyone who want to call him self hypnotherapiest. No schooling/training needed, no minimal requirment needed to become hypnotherapist and therefore practitioners do not have to answer to anyone. Sound scary??? It is. What is more horrifying is hypnotherapist have direct access to one subconcious and can really cause a lot of damage if they do not know what they are doing which I got the impression this is the case with Wanita Holmes. I have been blessed to have Wanita in my life for 4 years now . I can honestly say that ever since I met her my life changed in the most positive way. The first time I went to her for hypnosis - I was very skeptical . Wanita put me at ease in just 15 minutes of meeting her . She explained what hypnotherapy is and how hypnosis can be used for many things that a person might want to change in his / her life . After the amazing change I saw in my life - I decided that I wanted to help others in the same way Wanita helped me...what influenced me most to go ahead with the class was that she will be the teacher ! Wanita as an instructor is simply magical . I really can not understand how Mar P. could leave such a dishonest comment about Wanita claiming to be a "doctor" - this is not true . Actually , Wanita makes it very clear (even in her text books) that she is not a medical doctor . The lady does have a Doctorates (PH-D) in hypnotherapy . She studied night and day and worked her butt off to get that degree- If the person commenting knows what a PHD is , she would know that technically speaking Wanita is a doctor of hypnosis . Just because Mar P. is not a believer in the power of positive thinking and guided imagery that assists a persons subconscious mind to break old bad habits and build new and healthier ones - then that is her problem - I highly recommend hypnosis for everyone wanting to make a change in life , break a bad habit , or simply wants to live life thinking positively. Wanita is my mentor and will forever be the person who changed me into an independent and more appreciative woman . She is Full of life , love, wisdom , and beauty ! Both my mother and I have gone to see Wanita and there are absolutely no words. Before Wanita, my anxiety was unbearable. It's something I would describe as debilitating. Ever since my very first session, I feel like I can actually breathe. My mind is calmer, my heart isn't always pounding. Wanita is the most talented and thorough hypnotherapist I've ever been to! I can have terrible anxiety problems and even after just one visit I felt sooooo much better and was able to tackle my problems head on instead of hide from them. She made me a recorded tape of our sessions that I could listen to and self Hypnos whenever I felt the need. I chained smoked most of my life. I had tried every patch, gum, prescription drug and I could not quit to save my life. I'm 35 now and had multiple spine surgeries. Every timely surgeon said I could not smoke anymore as my bones would likely not fuse. I lied to him and kept on going. I always knew smoking was bad for me but besides being an addict, I loved smoking and I felt it was part of me and I did not want to quit. One day a neighbor saw me smoking and said she had quit with the help of Wanita. After keeping Wanita's phone number on the back burner for about 6 months, I decided to give it a try. I will complete one year as a non smoker in 9 days. I never crave them, I don't think about them, yet they don't bother me (my friends who smoke still smoke next to me). I don't know Wanita Holmes but my husband successfully stopped smoking because of her, before we started dating. He recommended we take my 15 year old son who compulsively bit his nails. I came to see Wanita after a friend recommended her to me. I wasn't quite sure what to expect, but from what I gathered after speaking with Wanita on the phone, her technique a lot like 'The Secret.' You think positively and put positive goals out there and don't let negativity creep in. For the initial meeting, you come in with a list of things you'd like to work on, and I had a few things, one of which was public speaking. I've always been naturally shy, and in my current job, I need to be able to speak clearly and concisely in front of large groups on a regular basis. I typically get bright red and sweaty when I have to speak... The single most amazing experience of my life. I walked into Wanita's office after being referred by a teacher of mine, and my entire life changed. She helped me conquer so many of my fears and insecurities.
